Kratos was knocked out, confirmed by devs it would make no sense how mjolnir would kill kratos with a normal hit. And for those saying "The devs said kratos is now stronger than his younger self" they clearly meant he was physically stronger, which yes is probably true as he seems to be more bulkier here but that does not mean he is straight up an upgrade over younger kratos.. because when kratos fought zeus he had so many mythical powers, weapons etc and even then struggled A LOT to defeat zeus and took literally 3 games, odin on the other hand he required pretty much none of it as he had lost of that mythical prowess back in greece and is much weaker ability wise. But physically he is stronger than younger kratos in the sense he is able to give out stronger punches, carry heavier ogjects etc

The devs actually said that thor only knocked kratos out, which makes sense because for thor to revive kratos, kratos would have to die which is impossible due to a curse that was put on him after he slaughtered a village and his own wife and daughter
