I needed a mounting plate for my snow plow on my Yamaha grizzly 450. Had the metal and the time. used my Langmuir crossfire pro plasma table for the cuts. Vulcan 220 mig welder. and Eastwood Powdercoating setup. hope you enjoy the process!

You could dip the controller in epoxy to water proof it, and put it inside the cooler… because I’m sure it burned out with all that weight. A cooling jacket for the motor would also help the durability.

Get some grease in that impact 👍they never put enough i packed mine an put chainsaw bar oil in there so it doesn't stick to the walls also i noticed it runs cooler with bar an chain oil
It seems that about half the time when something is not working, you can take it apart and put it back together and it works. The other half of the time you take it apart, parts fly all over the place, and you go buy a new tool.
Right! But at least then you’ve earned the right to buy the new tool!

If that was cut by a laser company instead of you in your garage and they didn't clean their slag off that's egregiously bad. Nice welding table though..i run the night shift at a steel plant we run lasers and a coil line i cant fathom if a part came out of my warehouse like that. Gotta check your holes. Quality quality quality. What's worse is that part probably took an hour to cut being 3/8s with that many holes id assume its a36. so the operator stood there and did nothing. Didnt check his holes with hos finger. didnt even look at the cone or he would have noticed the dross lol...there is also no way those holes fell by themselves. Who cut it for ya?
The shop i work for does 99.9% all stainless steel. They cut this mild steel for me at a very reasonable price so i was willing to deal with the cleanup myself. They likely used the same setting they would use for 3/8” stainless to cut it. But i was cheap and they were willing so i wont complain.
@@chaunster so they are cutting with nitrogen that's what the edge looked like but was pretty quick pan over. I have cut all stainless with nitrogen my entire career. Which means they are using newer fiber lasers(which would have preset 3/8 hr parameters in its parameters log that are pretty accurate +- 10% speed right out of the box) or they are using older machines and I completely understand not making a new parameter for a customer that understands. However I'd still lose it on my operator if he didnt clean it up.Clean up will motivate you to learn parameter adjustments....or it won't lol. The creme rises to the top. I almost want to buy a laser that can go in my garage they make ones that "can cut 3/8" plate I have seen on RUclips but seeing as I can cut whatever I want anytime ever for no cost except for mat cost I don't want to pay for the divorce.

Why didn't you just adjust your parameters? What laser did you cut this on?

If ran enough grinders to know this was way faster and didnt damage the surface like if i had used a hard disc grinder or burnt up a dozen flap discs
I need to get into air tools.
You need to use loctite designed for high pressure systems. I want to say it’s loctite 545. There’s two I recommend. One is more like jelly and the other is more runny like regular loctite. I would have problems with leaking systems until I started using this. Cure time is like 3 days tho

Thats awesome. They should be worth a fair bit! I posted this vid 14 years ago when my boss was clearing out old inventory. I still get messages a couple times a year from people wanting to buy them.

Do you have any suggestions for what i could use as an enclosure for this laser? I was thinking of using a fire retardant 3d printer enclosure but it seems risky to me.
I havent found a need to enclose it. They are kinda spendy but the only thing i would like is a visual shield with laser safe green plastic so i dont have to wear safety glasses all the time. You will want some kind of fume extraction. I just use a small 12v fan hooked to a dryer hose that blows outside. Maybe build a plywood box around it with a hinged front door
They currently sell an enclosure for this on their website. It is not cheap, but worth it in my opinion AND shows the company listens to constructive feedback.

Thanks for the info. Had a 91 grand am back in the day with hijackers and I thought, how great the shocks where and at the same time how utterly horrible the air hose system was

We did. It was a blast. We only did the short 20 mile run up river, so no rapids.
