Review of J. Crew Kenton Pacer Boots
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.3 года назад
Sometimes before you know a style is good for you or not, do you want to pick up a less expensive pair. This is what I have done with the J. Crew Kenton pacer boots. These are the J.Crew version of the Alden Indy boots. The Kenton Pacer boots are Goodyear welted with suede from CF Stead, a tannery well-noted for its suede. So with J. Crew having crazy sales these days, I decided to give these a...

Today I unbox a pair of Belgian loafers from an emerging shoe brand Cru Nonpareil. They are a new company that makes some interesting shoes and has a very unique MTO program. I chose a simple Belgian loafer style from the brand and give you my opinion on the process and the quality of the shoes. To learn more about them, you can visit their homepage: www.crunonpareil.com/ To see these shoes and...

Carmina Shoemake offers a range of custom shoes and boots. In this video, I inbox a custom pair of George boots in museum brown. Carmina does not have this boot in their ready to wear collection so I had them make one. It’s probably my favorite style of boot but not commonly made nowadays. Just say no!
What are they calling this Color if Bison leather?
How nice to find a recording without “Billy Mayes” (oxyclean, RIP) OTT vocals. Your voice is nice and soothing, yet authoritative. Yay!
I love the Allen Edmonds Dress shoes. In the Strand weave style, I own the Walnut, the Chili and the Black. They are a perfect fit and beautiful. I absolutely love them. I don't have the burnished Copper but it is beautiful. Enjoy!
Is it brown reddish?
Quality boot, the soles do wear and become roughed up but then hold their shape. They can be resoled by Sanders at a cost of £130 if need be. Love them!
You didn’t even try them on for fucks sake
Geez dude half way into your video before you open the box
The difference is the sole. Yours are rubber so those are half price and not $400. Now the leather soles run for $400...you such an amateur...
😂
Hi lovely 😅😂 session, so educational, tecnical simple, like anticipate more on bottom, sole construction as the typical understanding ❤see you soon today in India it's deepavali festival lights lamps, crackers festival
Nice design. Better looking than the Playboy, but not as tough. The crepe sole on this is crap -- wears out very easily -- not worth the money you paid for it. I wonder if Sanders have already fixed this problem. Such a shame.
Did you try the playboy? Been looking for reviews but found nothing.
@@tiagoarno780 Never tried it. I don’t like the profile of the shoe. Sanders Hi-tops are still better looking but the foxing (side crepe) wears off pretty easily.
Not what I was expecting but okay 😂😂
CF Stead English made suede? Vibram sole? Goodyear welted construction? Great, slim, lasted look? I'd say for $80...you got a steal. I think these are the way to go, over spending 5, 6, 7, or even a Thousand dollars for a pair similarly constructed. What I'd like to know...is who actually manufactured the shoes. We all know J Crew doesn't make shoes. They contract them out to other shoemakers. Maybe Allen Edmonds, maybe Alden. If made in Italy, Portugal, or Spain. Maybe England at Crockett and Jones or somewhere in Northampton, England the shoemaker capital of the world. Most likely not England...but most likely an Amercian company. Even Grant Stone, even though they are made in China...they are a good solid American company with well made shoes. Anyway...I think you got a good deal for $80.
Yo creo que eran los zapatos que usaban para exposición, o son de segunda mano, tienen muchos datos de desgaste. Yo tengo unos Derby de la marca Mercanti F y se ven mucho mejor que estos.
😅😂😂why is the 👠👠 shoee so pointyyyyy😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing. Just picked up a pair.
Thanks for sharing. Just ordered a pair online based on your review. Very impressed, they immediately sent me a text to confirm size and asked me to trace out my foot on a piece of paper and send them the snap shot. Also asked for some circumference measurements. Awesome customer service.
A little over 200. A bargain as they are well-constructed and beautiful boots.
An absolute bargain for sure
Beautiful Boots. Thanks for sharing.
You bet
Beautiful shoes and I love your socks as well. Please make a longer video.
blud think he smart💀💀
I ordered a pair of these in the Root Beer Pull Up leather for $152 yesterday. They should be here next week. I wanted an Alden Indy style without the Alden Indy price tag. How was the break in on these?
Minimal break in on these. Pretty much good out of the box. Of course these are suede so pretty forgiving. Nice buy on your part
@@TheShoeEnthusiastAppreciate the feedback. Really happy with the deal I got. These look to be very well constructed and with the 25 pair boot rotation I have going now these should last years before requiring a resole.
Thanks for the review, I see you ordered size 44, and I was wondering what is your usual US size on Allen Edmonds? Thanks
I wear that in more narrow lasts like the AE 65 last. For roomier lasts, I order 43.5
@@TheShoeEnthusiast thank you. I probably wasn’t clear in my question. What would be the equivalent size on this shoes on Allen Edmonds McAllester for example ?
@@SG-Photography it would be an 11
@@SG-Photography size 11
If you are new to shoes,... euhm? Who is that?
I absolutely LOVE them all !! So striking to the eye. Definitely belong on a man's foot.
Thank you 🙏
How old were these?
Pre-1972; that’s all I know
extreamly helpful
Beautiful shoe
I’m a huge fan of the wholecut style. Is it possible for you to tell me the shaft hight and circumference of the opening please? Thanks
I’ve been searching for a mid/ high end pair of this style of shoe for so long can anyone provide any help? thanks
I recommend Cobbler Union spectator shoes which is in my profile pic
I prefer the AE design. Like their McAllister it has a more vintage line to them. Carmina has a more modern or fresher look if I may say. Either way you can’t go wrong.
Belgian welt rocks.
Suede in the rain?
Very easy to waterproof
shoe enthusiast my ass
Thank you for the feedback. 😆
Absolutely cool boots! What thread color did you choose for the stitching?
I just went brown I think. Was trying to let the leather do all the contrasting
@@TheShoeEnthusiast I’m asking because Carmina told me they will choose brown or chestnut, depending on the style. But I think maybe it’s even not noticeable when worn. I did a MTO on Chelsea boots in museum brown.
@@niniengineering yeah I don’t quite remember..I tried checking my order but that wasn’t an option on it
@@TheShoeEnthusiast I’m got mine and love the look, what products did you use for maintaining them? Saphir, Famaco… or something else?
I’m interested in investing in a pair of spectator shoes but I’m unsure of how to style or pair them with different outfits. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!
I tend to wear them in spring with spring/summer looks (lighter colors)
Where’s the Carmina outlet store located?
It’s on their website
gorgeous. I'm considering the U last, which seems halfway between F and K. I like Vass a lot but the F last might be a tad too short for me, I'm size 41.5 (8.5 US) and I wear my pants with traditionally wide openings and a half-break so unless shoes are slightly elongated, the look is not proportional. I don't like them too chiseled, though, either, so it's a bit of a challenge finding the right last from the photos.
Are they true to size?
I have to size up half a size because my feet are wide
I have a pair of black and museum cognac Chelsea boots. I regret not getting these limited editions! Thanks for sharing
How to order pi
These shoes look unbelievable! Wow, beautiful beautiful style.
Carmina looks way better
how to polish this shoes ?
Neutral cream polish
Would of been fantastic too see them worn on video. They look great 👍
Hi there. I have a leather chelsea boots and it is tight around the "eyelet" area. After wearing it for 2 hours or more, my midfoot (area between the toes and talus) becomes sore and sometimes numb because it gets constricted. Any idea how to stretch that part of the boot?
Hello, I will suggest you to free the all eyelet lace while putting lace knot. So, basically u have not to tight the overall lace at all eyelet. By, this I am sure that it will be relax to your feet 😊
Terrible experience with Cobbler Union. I bought a pair of oxfords and they were about a half size too small. Wore them in my living room for about five minutes, put them back in the box and sent them back for an exchange. The couple minutes I wore them in the house put some light creases in the vamp; I got an email back that this constituted them being “damaged” and ineligible for an exchange. A couple takeaways: first, simply trying on the shoes will crease the leather and make them ineligible for an exchange or return. Second, you’re taking a big risk buying from this company without tryin on the shoes in store.
I have returned several pairs of shoes to cobbler union with no issues. They have the excellent customer service. That’s been my experience.
