Population Health Research Institute (PHRI) is a joint institute of McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences. Founded in 1999 under the leadership of Dr. Salim Yusuf, who continues as our Executive Director, PHRI is renowned for research into prevention and intervention for cardiovascular disease, strokes, diabetes, with large clinical trials all over the world, as well as population health research via cohort and observational studies globally.
