Muuuuch easier on this mill than on the Woodmiser LT 40 Wide Hydraulic that I used to own. Sorry that I didn't get the whole mill in the video frame. Woke up this morning with a plan in my mind, Gonna mill my own lumber, gonna work that grind. Got my chainsaw roaring, and my mill set up right, Turning logs into lumber, by the morning light. Milling my own lumber, it's a labor of love, From the forest to the workshop, it's like hand in glove. Every cut and every plank, tells a story so true, Milling my own lumber, it's what I love to do.

      Thanks for the info. I use the 1 1/4'' blade because they are easier to find .Also I bought 220 used blades from a man who doesn't reset his blades after a couple of sharpening's. They all were shining like new and were Woodmiser blades and I bought them all for 100 $ and they are the proper length for my saw!!! Yes I have a commercial sharpener that I bought and repaired. I also have a blade setter so I am set!!! Thanks for your comment FRANK

      Ordered my Epicsaw power head this morning. The best, and I mean THE BEST customer service I think I've ever experienced. I've emailed Tony twice now (a month or so part), and he responded both times in less than five minutes. Not promising he'll always be that fast, but he will bend over backwards for you! Oh, he's from the Pacific Northwest I think, and I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada, so I have no affiliation with him.

      We do have the magnetic rules for the mill. the problem arises when you move more than 3'' on your cut you gain kerf measure that you havent used. Example ,When you drop 6'' you are actually dropping 6 and 5 kerfs which equal 6.32 '' instead of the 6 '' you want to cut. you can take the time to replace your kerf adjusted rule over to the true rule and then it would be 1 kerf too narrow. Plus the time to change over and to zero out the rule before selecting your cut would take longer by far than just grabbing a tape and getting the job done. Thanks for your comment

      Its been added to cool down the engine oil by 60 to70 degrees. I plumbed it into the engine where the original oil cooler was. I used a external oil filter adaptor to accomplish this .The engine really loves the cooler oil ,and the oil pressure came up 30 lbs!

    Every other operator that I've watched turns the log toward the backstops after the first cut and the backstops hold the log square for the next cut eliminating the need of using a square. Plus rolling it that direction would have totally eliminated the need to get the chainsaw out. Saves time and effort.

    • @frankiesixsaws
      @frankiesixsaws 11 месяцев назад

      The sockets on the 130 max are a little to light duty to keep the back stops square all of the time without bending them when we roll big heavy logs against them, so we like to check them for square when the logs are extra large in dia. It is easier to square them when you turn them backwards. Thanks for noticing the backward roll!

    Are you using 5/16 teeth in your main blade or 1/4 ? I know people that run 1/4 and they have a lot of problems. I use the 5/16 stellite and my mill has no trouble cutting. the blade stays cold to the touch.

    • @frankiesixsaws
      @frankiesixsaws Год назад

      I paid to have a blade made by Simmons that takes Type F or B teeth so I can run carbide teeth. They are 1/4'' wide teeth .Before buying this blade I used 9/32'' blue tip teeth without much problem other than I had to sharpen them often. I prefer to run 12 tooth blades as I believe I get better results with them. I used 6 tooth blades and the sawdust didn't shoot near as far away from the mill. I know ,I know ,many of you use 6 tooth blades ,all I can say is ...try a 12 and you might get a Suprise like I did. I noticed that the blades with more teeth stayed sharper longer. Thanks for watching. Frank
