The Count Of Monte Fisto
Добавлен 4 дек 2010
Hey, welcome to the channel! I play games, mostly old games, obscure games, and PC games.
I mostly stick with JRPGs, Super Nintendo (SNES), Sega Genesis, and original PlayStation (PS1) games with the occasional modern PC game thrown in.
If you want to take a momentary break from politics on here and watch some video gameplay with some comfy commentary, I'm your boy!
Also, if you like my content and want to support me (I like followers and views, I don't like ads and money made from ads), make sure to follow/subscribe to me on other platforms as well

[The Count] UFO 50 (Attactics, Devilition & Kick Club) {Part 4}
Starting ANOTHER big indie game release from this year (2024), we'll be digging into UFO 50, a collection of 50 retro-inspired games made by Mossmouth, the same devs behind Spelunky. We'll be doing, gradually, 25 streams of this game, with 2 games per each stream to really give each game a bit of a deep dive to figure out what's going on in them. Anyway, wish us luck, and let's go!

[The Count] Final Fantasy XI: Online (With Frens) {Part 13}

Word up, with the end of the year getting closer, we've been starting a bunch of new games. The next on the list that we'll be starting is Final Fantasy 11: Online (!?!?). Yes, this game actually isn't dead, shockingly. Despite coming out 22 years ago in 2002, Square Enix is still somehow keeping the servers on and running, and they don't see it as self-competition with FF14. That is crazy. In ...

We're starting yet another game in the Ys series, which is the re-release of the remake of Ys 3, Oath in Felghana, originally on the PSP, but the original one was originally originally on the TurboGrafx-CD, which was in and of itself an advanced port of the original-original one, originally released on the PC-8801. WHEW, what a convoluted history. Anyway, the original game which I also streamed...

Let's start on the fan-favorite DMC3 originally for the PS2 and later ported to everything else. This is the PC version as part of the HD Collection on Steam, so the audio mixing is a little shoddy to say the least, but the gameplay is top notch. Let's eat pizza, surf on some missiles and make clowns dance while we meet up with our long lost brother for some bonding time. Wish me luck, and let'...

Solid content on an underrated game! You mention that this is from 1981. This isn't the original 1981 release, this is one of the remakes:))
@Kaylovsky Thank you! Yeah, I'm not even sure how I would go about playing the OG. I've also heard the OG games were crazy slow with dungeon map rendering times, haha
@@montefisto Yeah it's slow but I just got off of Beneath Apple Manor and Akalabeth beforehand so it wasn't that bad. You just need to find an Apple II and get the Ultima disk images from MacGUI or a similar ROM site:))
Congrats on beating easy mode Chester, look forward to you facing his harder form.
Get more hp if you save it for later 😂😂😂😂 First to think that in a Ys game and first to get lost at the beginning. This is a great playthrough 😂
The lvl wasn't the issue, my estimate your lvl is fine. Your gear is issue. You really need to keep up the gear. On hard and above the gear you start with just mskes the game harder for you. Most of the gear that sells under 1k you should have had. Oh wait, noticed you bought 2/3 new gear. Normally the shield upgrade you find here is useless to me since I have the next new shield. Of course I don't mind grinding though. Although the music and fast based action lets you grind pretty quick.
Nightmare is not less forgiving in check points. They are the same as hard mode.
Go nightmare. You will get the most fulfilling difficult experience ever. Trust me, you won't regret it. 😁👍
I mean a normal person would have learned there lesson after the first time of damaging yourself when trying to run into the guy's barrier 😂😂😂
I have never seen someone get lost trying to get to the query...😂 That's a first.
Din - a loud, unpleasant, and prolonged noise.
From the looks of it the timeline is 1, 2, 10, 4, 3, 5, 8, 6, 7, and finally 9. Of course Origin is the very first considering it is the only one where Adol is not even born.
Nice Movie ! Sub & Like ! And Love Dragon Quest Games !
Reminder that Fisto streamed Snail Trails in the Sky to the very end even though it was by his own admission boring and pretentious, so its still a rage quit, buddy. Sorry I don't make the rules. 😏
@GassiousClay7 definition not rage. I'm not reeeeeing and throwing controllers, regardless of how bad you want me to. Sorry to disappoint. You can look up "rage quite compilations" if you want a reminder of the definition. I know, age is hard.
@@montefisto That sounds like something a ragequitter would say. 😏 Also, TLDRLOL
@@GassiousClay7 Cute. I love you all the same, bro
@@montefisto I bet you laughed and called me a fucker, didn't you?
the DS remake of it needs a 2D/HD port on the PS4/Switch.
I'd be more in favor of an almost complete re-working of the game (granted, maybe the DS version is that, but I'd prefer a complete reimagining with just the general dream/real world concept being the same). Really though, I think Squeenix should do something more with 4-9 in general. it's almost as if they pretend those don't exist, compared to how many times they re-release & remake all the FF games.
God Bless you sir!
And here I thought Facebook monopolized the gambling gaming market..
@@torshec8634 I DON'T HAVE A GAMBLING PROBLEM, I CAN QUIT ANY TIME I WANT, REEEEEEEEE
keep this series coming please, i remember playing FF11 then moved to 14 and missed 11, they recently added a alliance raid of ff11 to 14 and man the nostalgia just hit like a wave, keep it up loving the series!
Absolutely! I think including time spent outside of stream exploring/talking with NPCs/selling stuff, I'm at around 40 hours now. I can easily see myself sinking 100-200+ hours into this game, really deep-diving into it. I'm enjoying it a lot so far. I appreciate the support of the channel and your passion for the game! Much love!
Ah, you're playing balatro now, nice. Part of me was wondering if we'd see punch out again after the paul vs tyson nonsense. Also, adjusting to looking at 1x speed again is so awkward when I'm so used to 4x speed.
I've never played these games but I've heard you and other people online Recommend them forever, and Sam and I are really considering getting the new remastered Dragon quest 3 for the switch. I would love to hear your opinion.
Look for hd textures on google
I've heard better music coming from two dogs mating!
Puke rock rules!
3:31 Why would you turn on bilinear filtering??? I'm so triggered REEEEEEEEE!!! Also congrats on getting over 200 dollars in tips. Somewhere Tim Walz is seething.
I'll be real with you: I'm not 100% on what bilinear filtering does. I've watched videos explaining it before, but it's always forgotten about a day or two later
@montefisto from what I understand, it washes out the pixels and makes everything look less sharp. Good for running games on weaker hardware.
Well done, time to do FFX-2.
FFX-2 is definitely on my list! That is one of the few I have not yet played. On the more immediate horizon, is FF11 (which I don't plan on finishing anytime soon, for obvious reasons, haha), FF16 which I'll be starting when I'm done Dragon Quest 6, and then probably FF2 the NES version, which I have never beat *that* version as it is CBT
Good fight at the start :D if you stay in that blue covernant, you will get player helpers when you get invaded
Using the torch like a champion souls player :D
Damn seems to be an American thing, talking politics and games. Most people in EU can be left or right and be agaisnt and for wokeism. And from an outside view, all Americans talk "sides" atm. Polarized or what you call it 😂😅
I want to say 2014 was a real turning point, for whatever reason. Before then, it definitely wasn't the case. People cite 2016, but 2014 there was definitely a noticeable cultural shift in America.
Haha, you moving away every time you hit, making your char hit the opposite way of the enemy made me laugh so much. This was a great episode :D When using those big weapons you control their movement mid swing, so you want to do that first, and when the attack is going you can start trying to move away.
True Death Metal!
Bro that thumbnail. Im all in
Granted I've only played 3 final fantasies, but I loved this one. When I was in early-years college in 2004, I just played so much of this one.
@mattlowder yeah, this was my first time going for all the celestial weapons. Very time consuming, trivializes the final bosses, would not do again, haha! But it is cool that they're there, and they give you that arena with insanely difficult super boss fights for people who really, REALLY want to sink in like 150 hours into this guy. FFX, to me, squeaks into the top 5 of the series with 7, 9, 5, 6. I still need to play 11, 14, and 16, and revisit 12 which I never finished because that one seemed really, really boring...
You gotta do the dlc's, they are this games best content, and not like with ds1. In this game this is truly the best content. And if you want you can do main game first. You are not forced in to new game plus.
Yeah, that's what I keep hearing. I'm sure the DLC campaigns are great. Whenever I finish these games though after 50-70 hours, I look at my "to-play" list and am re-reminded of my mortality, lmfao. Dark Souls 2 was a good game though, all the same
@@montefisto Compared to the rest of the game, the bosses and the layout of the dlc's are on another level. and after this video :D you are really close to getting all 3 keys to the dlcs
Did you go talk to the head after you killed the body ? :O
Man, I think I legit completely forgot to do that.... There's so much to remember to do with these games
Damn I wish I was in the chat on this one :D There is a lore reason for why Freja's souls in not like the others. you will find out(or at least have the chance to) later on
2:59:09 the lion guy is important, and you will get your branch back again :) Ring idea ;) that stamina regen ring is it really helping ? or would the ring of blades help more ? Stamina regen is tied to how much you are wearing as well.
Those entrances you have found with the water fountain are the dlc entrances, you need a key for each one. You missed some important stuff in the black gulch, if you look over the edge you will find 2 spots to drop, 1 leads to two ledges, and last 1 leads to one ledge. And that will inturn make you go back again to the gutter and then to the big hole in the ground. If you turned off the fire in iron keep, then you should also be able to get a key there. (you more or less have access to the 2 first dlc's)
Oh you met the root head thing xD that guy is awesome !
Damn :O I never thought about "pyromancer should be able to light torch". But I think that some fixed torches can be set on fire with a fireball or bomb (the ones you find around the world that you can light up, and from then on you can go and light your own torch there, why is there not a different word for a torch in hand and a torch that is fixed to something.... english is stupid)
hahaha xD your issue with invaders. They are limited to around your lvl, and in this game you won't find people that have been handed down crazy weapons, But you will in all the other souls games. But Invaders are a big part of these games, it is so random, and you have a chance to get help every time you get invaded, just be part of the blue. Imo skill issue ;) or at least a mindset issue. You got so much to help you out vs invaders. Good to see you back, I had a ton of fun with this video :D
Game start to crash if you have 1000 saves. Why having so much? Ofc it's case of the taste, but playing only bare hands is lame. It's not interesting using only this.
@@Warlord4Hikage ? I had fun playing as an unarmed Brujah. To each his own. It's a WRPG, there are many ways to play.
@@montefisto Remember about 1k saves
Well done...to quote a certain westaboo..."Did u rike it?" If you're playing this again, go Malkovitch.
Yeah, it definitely was really good! I do plan on eventually trying another Kool Klan. I will say though, that Asian vampire lady boss did nearly break me though, I did consider calling it there. Apparently I'm not the only one, as the general consensus I see online is that that is in fact the worst boss in the game. In future playthroughs, I may very well use console commands to just insta-kill that thing.
bruh
armor sprite appearance (for each of the 3 classes): type 1 (Light Body Armor): Rags, cape, cloak, robe, quilted armor, leather armor, hard leather armor, studded leather armor type 2 (Medium Body Armor): Ring mail, chain mail, scale mail, splint mail type 3: (Heavy body Armor): Breast Plate, Plate Mail, Field Plate, Gothic Plate, Full Plate Mail ------------------- durability mechanics: 0 current durability = destroyed forever equipment melee weapons' (successful) hits on monster = chance of lost current durability melee weapons' swinging at the air (not successfully hitting monsters) = NO loss of current durability bows: not sure if it's shots or (successful) hits on monster, though spamming arrows (which often means you're missing a lot) does seem to increase the chance of lost current durability // haven't gotten around to testing whether it's just shooting arrows (regardless of successfully hitting a monster or not) or actually (successfully) hitting a monster that causes the chance to lose current durability armor (shield): upon blocking with shield, there's a chance of loss of current durability armor (head and body, and maybe also the shield too): upon getting (successfully) hit, there's a chance that a randomly selected armor will have a chance of loss of current durability // head is the least likely to lose current durability, body is more likely to lose durability, though the shield losses durability the most, however, this is from it blocking (especially from a mass of arrows from archer monsters, lol), not sure if shield can be randomly also selected to lose current durability from upon getting hit like with the body and head armors or not jewelry (amulets and rings) don't have durability any equipment with the 'indestructible' affix, doesn't have durability, as well // good for saving gold from having to repair equipment, so good for exp/item/equipment/spell-book/etc farming runs, and thus especially good on weapons and shields, though obviously for end game equipment, the 'indestructible' affix does nothing to make you more powerful, and also, bows, due to their affixes are extremely expensive to repair, but its impossible to get/have the 'indestructible' affix on a bow, with the sole exception of a single unique bow, which is also a very good bow too (might not be the very best bow, but it's still close to the top/best of bows), the 'eagle horn' bow the 'hidden' shrine effect is a way to increase your equipments' maximum durability (read up on how it works), and I'm not sure if at some amount of maximum durability, if equipment ever becomes/gains-the 'indestructible' affixed or not ------- accuracy mechanics: the game engine actually uses real-clock time, and thus with character and monster and projectiles (arrows or spells) movements and direction of movements, you'll 99% of the time constantly miss with projectile attacks, unless your character and the monster is lined up within the NW/NE/SW/SE (and also N/S too) directions the farther the distance (technically, it's the time the projectile travels, as again the game engine is using real-clock time), the greater the loss of accuracy, so, try to let the monster get as close as possible before shooting an arrow or casting/firing/launching a spell (you can easily test this by shooting an arrow/spell from far away vs right up in their face, you'll miss with your arrows/spells a lot more when the monster is far away, compared to when the monster is up in your face), though this has to be balanced with not getting hit as well too, which deals with attack speed of you and the monster, whether you can do stun/staggering or not, and if you do get hit, your recovery time speed, or if you got a shield and you block the attack, your blocking speed time, else you'll be the one getting stun-locked... and killed... since the game engine is using real-clock time, you can notice some weird things with the graphics, as they lag behind a bit compared to the mechanics of the real-clock time underneath, and thus for examples, you may be hitting a monster with melee even if it's still 2 tiles away (out of range of melee), as the graphic hasn't updated yet to show the monster being on 1 tile away from you, and thus why you're hitting it, but you're still seeing the monster being at 2 tiles away, and other funky/weird stuff like that too... just know that the graphics lag behind the actual mechanics underneath... what you see will deceive you... as the game is functioning faster than the visuals that you're seeing with your eyes also, it's likely the darkness/light level effects accuracy too with projectiles (such as using equipment with +/- light/darkness level affixes) (you can’t cheat by changing the game's gamma or whatever settings in the options, as I don't think this affects anything in-game, it only enables you to see better or worse, and keeping the feel-immersion of dark shadowy dungeon crawling that makes diablo 1 so special, unlike that of diablo 2, sighs) lastly, weapon/physical accuracy is also determined by: your accuracy (the 'to hit %' on your character screen) - the monster's AC (armor class) = your final accuracy % chance of hitting the monster or not // 95% is the hardcoded maximum and 5% is the hardcoded minimum monster's weapon/physical accuracy (the monster's 'to hit chance' value) - your AC (armor class) = your percent chance of getting hit by the monster or not // 95% is the hardcoded maximum and 5% is the hardcoded minimum while... melee attacks don't involve distance at all and there's no missing based on where the monster is compared to your character (the 8 surrounding directions, NW/N/NE/W/E/SW/S/SE or 7/8/9/4/6/1/2/3, all suffer no loss of accuracy), though you got to make sure you're clicking in the right direction and/or on the right monster, lol, else you'll be swinging at the air and not at the monster that you can hit, lol, and also the real-clock time is still used due to you and the monster, each moving away and/or towards one another, as you and the monster can come into melee range or out of melee range, and remember, the visual/graphic/sprite-on-tile lags behind the game underneath functioning of its real-clock time, so you'll see some weird stuff happening with what you see with the visuals... melee attacks of course also use the accuracy - AC stuff that already went into above with projectiles, as well and last of all: using a shield your shield has a chance to block various attacks (melee, bows/arrows, and even some spells too), if you do block, no damage is done to you, and thus accuracy and AC don't even matter at all, the entire whether you get hit or not, never occurs, if you block, as blocking comes before the hitting mechanics, however, you can get stun-locked from blocking (like a ton of arrows from a ton of archer monsters, especially if you don't have the 'fast block' affix and you are not the warrior), and also you'll lose a lot of durability on your shield if you block a lot as well, if the shield doesn't have the 'indestructible' affix there is no 'blocking' for monsters at all and, I almost forgot... spells spells have their own spell accuracy mechanics (real-clock time and distance is shared by them though), so the 'to hit %' in the character screen and the AC (armor class) is NOT used at all for spell accuracy, instead the class (sorcerers get a +modifier for spell accuracy) and MAG stat and clvls-vs-mlvls and slvls, is what affects the spell accuracies
congrats on beating the game with the rogue! -------------------- Warrior: he seems like a strong class for first time playing, and he is good, but he's dependent on equipment, so he can be challenging when before you get/got decent gear, especially for your first run through the game (due to the RNG with drops and shops, and limited gold to spend), but in SP/offline, there's usually enough of the set quest equipment (butcher's cleaver, undead crown, arkaine's valor, griswald's edge, and veil of steel) to help you get through the game, but you'll also soon realize that the warrior isn't the greatest class (at least until "end game" warrior at clvl 45+, with lots of mana), when you run into the fleeing monsters (goat archers and some succubi) and the teleporting monsters (the archmages), and thus the warrior is the "worst/slowest" class, for most of the entire game (normal difficulty to hell difficulty), only once you get to high clvl (40-45+), with good equipment with lots of +mana/+magic, for "tele-killing" those fleeing and teleporting monsters, does he finally equal out with the other two classes, few witness/experience the warrior's full potential, but when/if you do, it's a sight to behold, you're well rewarded for all of that hard work in leveling him up to near max clvl and getting godly gear with lots of mana, "tele-killing" all over, delivering one-hit insta-death to everything, especially to those annoying fleeing and teleporting monsters, that you've struggled with for so long, laughs early game warrior: clvl 20 middle game warrior: clvl 40+ end game warrior: clvl 45+ (max clvl: 50) ---------- Rogue: this is actually the best/fastest class for going through the entire game (normal difficulty to hell difficulty), but you do have to know what you're doing with her, in what stat pts to give her and what equipment to look for, as you play with her, otherwise, you can really struggle with her, but if done right, where the warrior cries against fleeing and teleporting monsters, the Rogue laughs, where the sorcerer struggles against the dreaded triple immunes in hell difficulty, the Rogue laughs, nothing is resistant to physical damage, and the rogue not only does physical damage, but from afar/ranged too, this class has no issues at all from normal difficulty to hell difficulty, if done rightly early game rogue: clvl 20 middle game rogue: clvl 20 end game rogue: clvl 30 (max clvl: 50) ----------- Sorcerer: he struggles in the early game, being so fragile with low life/vit, until he gets mana shield, but then, he fully dominates the rest of the game (unless you forget to cast mana shield, argh, laughs), that is, until he gets to hell difficulty, against the dreaded triple immunes, forcing him to go melee like the warrior, which he's just not that suited for, where he finally starts to slow down again, letting the other two classes catch back up to him early game sorcerer: clvl 20 middle game sorcerer: clvl 20 end game sorcerer: clvl 30 (max clvl: 50) ------------------------ difficulties: normal difficulty: this is a great accomplishment for new/casual players in beating diablo, but this is "EZ" mode, especially on SP/offline too, with the help of the set quest equipment and with the crutch of the manual save-load nightmare ("NM") difficulty: this is where the real diablo 1 begins, especially when/if using a MP/online game/character, as there's no crutch of the manually save-load and also all monsters/bosses have x2 the life, NM difficulty is a big jump from normal difficulty, diablo 1 changes a lot with the NM difficulty, compared to that of normal difficulty hell difficulty: this is the ultimate test of diablo 1, being even far more challenging than NM difficulty, beating diablo on this difficulty is the true accomplishment ------------- and lastly: there's then the final challenge of creating the ultimate character(s), maxed out stats, all spells and maxed (15) slvls, maxed (50) clvl, and decked out with the absolute best equipment, and doing so, with all 3 classes
neat
for SP/offline game/characters: you CAN drop/leave stuff on the ground (both in town, and also in the dungeon: good to drop stuff near the stairs if/when leaving stuff in the dungeon, so it's easier to find/get-to it), it will NEVER* disappear, as saving your game in SP/offline saves the entire game state/world *(technically, the game engine can only handle so many pile stacks on the ground, but this limit will never be reached normally, you have to go out of your way to drop pile-stacks of 1 gold everywhere on the ground, to reach its limit, which then, screws up everything, when you drop something on the ground and/or something drops on the ground from an object or monster in the dungeon, it'll disappear, as the game can't handle that extra item on the ground, PK'ers/malicious players way back in the day on bnet, would do this to noob d1 players) you ONLY lose stuff on the ground, when you go to 'create/start a new game' (and then save your game within SP/offline, obviously), as it generates/regenerates an entire new game/dungeon state (this is why loading doesn't change the rng within the dungeon and its drops from monsters and objects, as everything is created/set at the start/creation of a new game, there is no rng, aside from a few things) if you kill diablo, the game ends, but you can still load back into the game before you killed diablo, unless you 'created/started a new game', and then saved your game, but usually before you kill diablo, you want to pick up the stuff you want and can keep, and sell off the rest of the stuff, and if not able to hold the gold, then use it for whatever, as you only got so much inventory space for keeping stuff (getting a stash mod makes all of this unnecessary, but you got to make sure you find a legit one, probably there's some malicious "stash" files out there, by a-holes that you got to be careful about) it's good tactic to leave all piles of gold on the ground in town in convenient locations, as to free up inventory space (and if/when you die in MP/online, so you don't lose your gold), have your pile of +mag gear for spell book reading, have pile of backup various equipment/weapons/armors, pile of spell books, etc etc etc ----------------- as for MP/online game/characters: it's the same as well, stuff on the ground (again in both town and the dungeon) doesn't disappear ever (but of course, its free for others to take, lol, but this isn't an issue anymore for the most part, as people don't play online with strangers, aside from the various fan-mods out there, with their own servers) the game autosaves (not sure if it does it every X interval during gameplay, or only when you go to quit the game and/or 'restart in town' due to dying), you don't have the "cheat" control of manual save-load, so, it's a lot harder, as you can die very easily, and good luck, trying to get back your gear, especially if there's a swarm of powerful monsters, and you got no backup ("death-gear-recovery") gear... you don't want to lose your ultimate gear that is super rare to find... due to dying and not being able to get back to your corpse and the fallen gear... this is the real challenge of D1, not having the crutch of the manual save-load of a SP/offline game/character.... muwahaha
😏
for diablo 1 classic (non-hellfire) spells: ---------- (some spells CAN be blocked with your physical shield blocking: standing still and not attacking, in order to block with shield) ---------- also, diablo 1 has a sprite limit for what can be on the screen at a time, if the sprite limit is reached, you’ll usually still see yourself casting spells, but actually, they don’t exist despite the visual, as the engine can’t handle them, so be careful with using some (and especially with spamming some) spells (fire wall, chain lighting, charged bolt, and maybe hydra and maybe inferno too, you’ll have to wait until enough of the sprites/spells vanish/end, before you can cast spells that actually exist and do their damage to the monsters) --------- physical spells: 1. golem (blockable) (damage is based upon slvl) 2. apocalypse (blockable) (damage based upon clvl) // (scroll/staff only) -------- holy spells: (only damages undead) 1. holy bolt (damage is based upon clvl, and I think slvl too but maybe not) --------- fire spells: 1. fire bolt (blockable) (damage based upon slvl and MAG) 2. inferno (stackable) (damage based upon clvl) 3. fire wall (stackable) (damage is based upon clvl) 4. guardian (this is the hydra spell in D2) (stackable) (blockable) (damage is based upon your fire bolt spell damage) 5. flame wave (blockable) (damage is based upon clvl) (very glitchy, so it really doesn’t work very well) 6. elemental (blockable) (damage based upon slvl and clvl) 7. fireball (blockable) (damage based upon slvl and clvl) ------- lightning (“lit”) spells: 1. charged bolt (blockable) (damage based upon MAG) 2. lightning (stackable) (damage is based upon clvl) 3. chain lightning (stackable) (damage based upon clvl) 4. nova (damage based upon clvl) // (scroll/staff only) -------- magical spells: 1. flash (damage based upon slvl and clvl) 2. blood star (blockable) (damage based upon: slvl and MAG) 3. bone spirit (blockable) (damage is 1/3 of target's current HP/life) ------ restoration spells: 1. healing (life/HP restored is based upon clvl and slvl) 2. heal other (MP only) (life/HP restored is based upon clvl and slvl) 3. resurrect (MP only) (revived with minimum HP/life) ------ utility spells: 1. identify // (scroll only) 2. town portal 3. infravision // (scroll only) 4. mana shield 5. phasing 6. teleport 7. stone curse 8. telekinesis -------------- warrior/rogue/sorcerer: "bread and butter" spells: F5 (fire dmg): fire bolt -> fire ball F6 (lit dmg): (charged bolt / lightning) -> lightning whatever other spells: F7: healing / holy bolt (holy dmg) / stone curse / teleport / chain lightning (lit dmg) / fire wall (fire dmg) / golem (phys dmg) / town portal / phasing / telekinesis / charged bolt (lit dmg) / mana shield / flash (magical dmg) / blood star (magical dmg) F8: holy bolt (holy dmg) / healing / stone curse / teleport / chain lightning (lit dmg) / fire wall (fire dmg) / golem (phys dmg) / town portal / phasing / telekinesis / charged bolt (lit dmg) / mana shield / flash (magical dmg) / blood star (magical dmg)
unfortunately, in D1, life/mana leech does NOT work with bows, it only works with melee weapons (so, sadly, the unique undead crown, is use-LESS for the rogue using a bow)
@@redmoonbloodmoon3161 that is pretty hard core trash then. I guess I can still use it for the short term for its high armor score
shops/npc-vendors: ---------- for all of them (I think): for both, SP/offline and MP/online: generates/regenerates new stuff with 'starting a new game' for both, SP/offline and MP/online: character leveling up (new clvl), generates/regenerates new stuff buying something, will add a new item to the vacant 'slot', and also it will adjust-ingly rotate/move the slots as needed/able-to, too ---------- adria: generates/regenerates her stuff with simply loading the game in SP/offline so, she's the fastest to farm-shop at, but only in SP/offline in MP/online, she's much more of a pain to try to farm-shop at... not sure if going into the dungeon, generates/regenerates her stuff or not, but it doesn't really matter, as the walk is about the same from the catacombs entrance and where you're placed at when you do 'start new game', argh... in SP/offline, either (can't remember which it is, or if it's both, meh, lol) at ~ clvl 25, and/or, getting to the hell region (dlvls 13-16), the 3 elixirs (str, dex, and mag) will show up in MP/online, either (can't remember which it is, or if it's both, meh, lol) at ~ clvl 25, and/or, getting to the hell region (dlvls 13-16), the 3 elixirs (str, dex, and mag) will show up // you can shop 'arch angel' (+2 slvls) or 'dragon' (+XX mana) staffs, but not sure if can get the of 'wizardry' (+21-30 mag) or not, from adria ----------- griswald: it's fastest to farm-shop by just doing 'start new game', as he's close by to where you're placed at clvl 30 is the highest you need to be at, for the chance at getting his best stuff (yes, you can shop the King's Bastard Sword of Haste/Heavens at griswald, not sure exactly what bows you can shop at griswald though, not sure if can shop for the top bows: emerald long war bow of heavens or merciless long war bow of swiftness, or not, meh) ---------- wirt: he's the "gambling system" in D1, he can generate equipment types and affixes, beyond what griswald can do (I don't think I've ever seen him do staffs, and I don't think he does rings/amulets in at least MP/online, not sure if he does or does not do rings/amulets in SP/offline, he may not be able to do rings/amulets at all), but, the chance of anything "good" from him is ZERO... the odds are insanely low for ever getting something good from him, he's really not worth it at all, but he's there as always an option for dumping your gold into, as the last usage of your gold, once you use it for everything else, lol he's obviously a huge pain to try to shop-farm at, best is to do 'start new game', to save gold, but it's a long walk over to him... argh... he's really not worth it at all, as the odds are so low of ever getting anything actually good, let alone great, lol, but if you got nothing else to spend gold on, he's there for it... maybe you will get lucky... laughs... he works differently than griswald, in that it's, simply: clvl x 2 (with again, clvl 30 being the max for it, at it's max of 60 for its quality/affix level for its possible generation/regeneration), for what equipment types and affixes can be generated/regenerated, so this is why he can get stuff that griswald can't (though, I think it is possible to get wirt's best stuff as drops from the dungeon too, in hell region, dlvls 13-16, or maybe just dlvl 15/16, but it's likely just as rare as trying from wirt, laughs) ------------ pepin: if going into the dungeon, generates/regenerates his stuff, then it's fastest to go into the hell region entrance, as it's close to pepin, for shop-farming in SP/offline, either (can't remember which it is, or if it's both, meh, lol) at ~ clvl 25, and/or, getting to the hell region (dlvls 13-16), the 4 elixirs (str, dex, mag, and vit) will show up in MP/online, either (can't remember which it is, or if it's both, meh, lol) at ~ clvl 25, and/or, getting to the hell region (dlvls 13-16), the 3 elixirs (str, dex, and mag) will show up --------------------- drops (dungeon containers-objects and monster drops): ------------------- the better the equipment types and affixes with the dlvl (dlvl 15/16 is best, dlvl 1 is the worst), is how it works, and also the difficulty makes a slight difference as well, but not that significantly also, this is why with dlvls 1 to ~3, you can get the negative affixes (like "of the fool") // ya, they decided to put in the negative affixes, as I guess a "hold out" from AD&D that was used as the template, and it was fun for a challenge for the super vets back when this game came out, to make the game harder than merely trying to do a 'n'k'd (no equipment) run, by doing a negative affix gear run, which is even weaker/harder, as your stats are lowered from the negative affixes on the gear for everyone else, this just causes shock, when they go to identify the blue/magical gear that they found on dlvls 1 to ~ 3, getting one of the negative affixes on it, causing it to be a slight net loss of gold, as it sells for only 1 gold, whereas to identify it, is 100 gold (unless a scroll of identify dropped for you to use) --------------- // though, always identify everything before you sell it, as even from dlvl 1 to ~3 blue/magical gear drops, you will still make a net total in profits/gold, even with a few blue/magical gear that gets the negative affixes and sells for 1 gold, as all of the other blue/magical gear will always out-sell, from that of the loss in gold from those few blue/magical with the negative affixes --------------- // the price (buying/selling and repairing) of equipment, is based upon the equipment type and also on its affixes, so you always want to identify equipment, before you sell it, as it'll sell for possibly a ton more gold, depending on its affixes
potions vs scrolls: ------------------- scrolls: scrolls cast spells, which means... 1. casting time (sorcerer = fastest, rogue = middle, warrior = slowest) // these are hardcoded, there's NO modifiers (like affixes on equipment) to change the 3 classes casting times, at all in D1, it's one of the main things that separates/diversifies the 3 classes 2. interruptible (scroll's spell effect/damage doesn't happen and the scroll is consumed) a warrior never wants to try to use any type of scroll when monsters are attacking him, but when in safety (no monsters nearby and/or not attacking you), then scrolls are fine to use, obviously (for example: use the life potions, and/or rejuvs, during battle, and healing scrolls for after battle) the rogue also might not want to try using scrolls during battle, as while she's got a faster casting time than the warrior, she's still not the fastest casting time (that's the sorcerer), so she can run into the same issues as the warrior possibly when trying to use scrolls during battle ------------------- potions: all potions are practically instantaneous, so, the full rejuvs aren't that much better (aside from if/when you might need both life and mana replenished, and actual instantaneous-ness, if the life/mana potions aren't also fully/truly instantaneous: if they're just slightly slower than being instaneous) the minor/small/partial rejuvs are mostly a complete waste... regardless of whether it's the class or just the the (life/mana pool and/or vit/mag) value... (small/minor) life potions replenish more life for the warrior, and the least for the sorcerer, and, (small/minor) mana potions replenish more mana for the sorcerer, and the least for the warrior obviously, full life/mana potions replenishes the same for all 3 classes you do NOT need full life potions for the warrior, until/unless you get at least like 500 life pool, if not more, like 1,000 life pool, (as probably just 2 minor/small life potions would replenish 500 life, lol), so this helps a bit with saving your gold, not wasting it on full life potions now, as the sorcerer, the full life potions (or full rejuvs) are probably the better deal and its the inverse/opposite/reverse for the sorcerer: he does NOT need the full mana potions until/unless he's got like 500 mana pool, if not more, like 1,000 mana pool, (as probably just 2 minor/small mana potions would replenish 500 mana, lol), so this helps a bit with saving your gold, not wasting it on full life potions now, as the warrior, the full mana potions (or full rejuvs) are probably the better deal
