NIGHTWISH - The Greatest Show on Earth - LIVE at WEMBLEY
"The Greatest Show On Earth".
Quite fitting, as it was literally that. Excuse the bit of us trying to get a selfie towards the end. Awkward :-/
Nightwish had a little surprise in store for us at the end of the song....... Wait for it.............

Spine-tingling..
Apoteótica apresentação , não tem como não se emociona com tamanha obra de arte .
Oh wow, I felt like I was there, brought a tear to my eye. Thank you so much for somehow maintaining enough control to film this with such good quality. No worries about the selfie, can't blame you one bit for wanting that souvenir.
This lade Me so emotionel , I could almost feel being their.. and to here the people sing along in the We were here part 😱😢❤️🥰😍🇩🇰
In Floor's newsletter yesterday she said they would start the new album process in July, woooohooooo
Floor!!!!!! Luv u so much
"us sleep".... amazing
those endless legs oh my gooooodness i,m proud to be a dutchie rock on floor
We were here...is the core idea of this song and covers the existence of the solar system which we know and which will be. Our time in the sun is (was, will be) so short.
W-E A------R------E H-E-R-E ! ! ! ! ! ! AMEN!
"We were here" Goosebumps n' shed a tear everytime... And talking about the Song itself. Truly a Masterpiece from the Mastermind himself Mr. Tuomas Holopainen. We truly are the lucky ones. Everyone should see and hear this masterpiece. Wembley gig and Tampere (Finland)... im a shame to tell, but my first Nightwish gig will be yet to come. But i hope The Greatest Show on Earth will be at the our home capital Helsinki on december 2018. I got the ticket!! Finally!!! Been concert for Metallica, GNR, Bon Jovi.. etc.. i never thought that the band whos got a really something to say i found it here in my own country. Kiitos (thank you) Tuomas :)
one of the most amazing songs ever written
friend what camera did you use? what a quality! good! thank you
Gracce Cordova Sanchez hey, thanks for looking. It was just an iPhone 6 :-)
I love how she stands completely still when doing the spoken word part at 6:10. It has such a chilling effect!
So great video!! And so Great song!!
...EVOLVED!:)
Tuomas is a mastermind and genius...what a grandeur audiovisual praise for life, nature and all living things including humas on earth.
Ah shit... Man I did not know this kind of music existed. A symphony of science and nature... Majestic. Probably a lot of people discovered Richard Dawkins from Nightwish. I wonder how many discover Nightwish from Richard Dawkins? Anyway I just did.
Simon Zhang The beauty of Symphonic Metal. Look into Epica. They do science stuff sometimes too.
Yes ... NW is the pioneer of this genre since 1996.
it's total different experience being in Nightwish's live shows
" WE WERE HERE " .................
GREAT!!!!!!
the sheer power and emotion that runs through me when i say those words... "we were here". completely indescribable. tuomas has written a complete masterpiece. complete brilliance.
It´s time to bury the dead. Band is dead in a few years - Tuomas.
This comment did not age well.
The greatest song
My favorite is ever dream. Best band of history of music is nightwish
paleontology meets symphonic metal A interesting mix but it's great
Thank you so much for this video! It is awesome in every way! Best "fan video" of a show I think I've seen on youtube...
ThorsteinnK appreciate the comment. Thanks for enjoying it :-)
Damn i got chills all over my body watching Dawkins entering the stage and saying these beautiful words. It's ashame i wasn't there live! :(
But you are here! And if you were here, you were there!
I've tried, I've tried, her voice is unbearable. She can sing but she doesn't belong in a gothic band. Her voice is suitable in the top 100 pop radio countdown
Bryan Abia I appreciate the comment, but I have to disagree. This is probably the most unified they have ever looked. Floor and Troy have completed the 'family'.
Well one could sense a warm harmony and chemistry in the band but that ain't the recipe for great music. My quibble is with her voice. It' is great, however, it is not gothic. By that I mean the sound of it does not evoke any feelings of despair, emotional distance, pain, or sadness that are in keeping with goth lore. The past lead singers did it impeccably. Tarja's operatic voice was emotionally blistering, apocalyptic but somehow soothing and Anette's voice was beautiful but cold at thesame time. This Flor just sounds like Katie Perry or Whitney Houston! See, both these singers could sing but could you imagine them doing justice to, 'Ever Dream'? Their voices and Flor's don't impinge on the world of metal. Otherwise if the standard for selecting Nightwish lead singers was simply 'bel canto', best voice then the winners of 'The Voice' or 'American idol' should have been auditioning in Finland at the residence of that 'bad' named Toumas Jalap...Its not about how great the voice sounds or how range it commands but how it makes gothic Nightwish fan feel. This lackluster, preacher newest album didn't help Flor's case either
Bryan Abia Sorry you feel that way dude. I love the line-up now and the latest album is awesome, in my opinion. I guess we just differ, which is also cool :-)
Flor has a better voice but it just doesn't fit well with the band. Her voice to be honest is SAWFT. It's just not evocative. It is flat. that's why I said it belongs on a pop song or American idol. Again she is a superior vocalist to Tarja and Annette by a stretch but it's the feelings behind the voice. You sound smart so I'm sure you know what I mean. Just because someone can sing doesn't mean they're a singer. If you disagree then let me ask you this, would you rather listen to Bob Dylan sing his songs or Whitney Houston sing Bob Dylan songs? I assume you'd choose the former. But isn't Bob Dylan. a terrible singer? Jimmie Hendrix also? Maybe it's the album that misrepresented her voice - evolution is way beneath the poetic grandeur in music that Nightwish has produced in the past.
lost your credibility at "gothic" band
The greatest song on earth !
from the greatest band on earth
i was shocked to see the sudden blinding lights..lol..
TRACKLIST?
It's one song?
ES decir, songlist.../ nombre de los temas en el orden que van pasando. gracias
NIGEL KAHN Es solo una cancion, The Greatest Show on Earth.
gracias, busco un recital q tenga la canción Eva.
=....) ♥♥♥♥.....
Haha. Keep an eye on Marco and Floor from 19:45 onwards. Floor looks slightly to her left at Marco, as if to say "Wait... that's not the same wording we put on the album!" And then at about 19:50, when Mr. Dawkins continues on to the next part of the quote, the part they did include on the studio album, Marco relaxes, and signals the thumbs up. It seems they may not have anticipated Richard would extend the Darwin quote! Thanks for uploading this BTW! No need to apologize for the selfie either, it's very much in the spirit of saying "we were here", and it's nice to see you all enjoying yourselves in the moment... anybody who has experienced Nightwish live can relate to that feeling of joy and it adds a nice touch of humanity to what would otherwise have been a standard live recording.
Absolutely beautiful having Professor Richard Dawkins giving his reading at the end there. He has such a unique perspective on life and the universe and I feel that The Greatest Show on Earth goes a long way to capturing it.
natrual history meets symphonic metal
The people are ruining everything. They are screaming and clapping, it's unbearable. Still a great video though !
Appreciate your comment. However I have never been to a silent Nightwish gig, I also think that without the crowd celebrating the awesomeness of Nightwish when they play live, it makes for a pretty boring experience. C'mon dude, it's not an opera!
I think I would prefer a silent crowd ^^ I like to listen to every detail of the music, having people agitating disturbs me! That's why, altthough it's my favorite music group, I never went to one of their concert!
That's fair enough. Buying their live albums / DVD's sounds like the best experience for you I think :-)
Yes, well that is what I did ^^
You must be fun at parties.
Perfeição em forma de música!!!!
The Greatest Band on Earth <3
thank you from Finland
Thanks for uploading this. Beyond epic. You were there!
Indeed I was. Pleasure's all mine :-)
What a fabulous treat for Nightwish to get Richard Dawkins himself to perform the last line of The Greatest Show on Earth. Oh, how I wish that I could have been there. Nightwish is the best.
Damn, as an Apple hater myself, I have to admit this video has astonishing quality! Thank you so very much for sharing... As for the song and the experience, we envy you all for being there (being in Greece, quite far from Wembley) but we thank you for giving us a taste of the marvelous experience you had!
My pleasure :-)
We Are Here
They're in perfect harmonize perfectly with each other in this live performance.
I would have loved to see this whole song like here but in states they don't do first 6 minutes which is beautiful. This is probably best song on new album and really one of most creative they have ever done.It is much better than Poet and Petulum . I think Floor adds to it's greatness too but music is wonderful. Nightwish is one of best bands in world and Floor adds to the attraction.
Floor always makes me think of Xena the warrior princess... I can totally picture her holding a sword and shield. Maybe an Amazon warrior!
Dan Maginnis my sister said the same thing yesterday! Can't help but agree haha
defo an amazon warrior!
Mr Dawkins and Nightwish ! Fuck yea !
Amazing performance as always, Floor Jansen is the absolute queen, Tuomas the mastermind and the whole band is totally mind-blowing, this song is so powerful, my favorite track of this album, by the way, i love all the things they did with the visuals, reminds me a bit the classic tour "the fragile" and the dvd "and all that could have been" by Nine Inch Nails.
The emotion with which he says "evolved" is breathtaking
The emotion with which he says "evolved" is breathtaking
Just started listening to Nightwish. Tis is fucking amazing! Thanks for the upload, guys.
