    I went through the whole transmission rebuild thing with my LX. Can’t find synchros but apparently Honda has them for a small fortune. Not worth it. I hate these 5 spds though because second always goes no matter what. Got a used trans with 177K on it and yeah second is already tired in it which sucks.

    • @jayceminner
      @jayceminner 10 дней назад

      For $900 it ended up being cheaper to just replace the trans than to rebuild it.

    hey sir, was wondering if the intake is good? did you see any different in performance and what about "hot air" problem?

    • @jayceminner
      @jayceminner 5 месяцев назад

      Honestly, I didn't notice a difference one way or another. I only put it on cause I hate dealing with factory air boxes. These motors don't make enough power without boost to where you'll notice a big power gain from just an intake and exhaust like a K would.

      @@wirdtuber3812 Honestly, I would stick with the short ram only for cost purposes. The CAI isn't going to make any difference in power unless you are tuning it.

      I had a yonaka muffler with no resonator. It had sound when u stepped on it but it was a little too quiet for me. Ended getting a dc sports ex-5016 muffler which gave a deep tone compared to the yonaka muffler I had. I recommend a dc sports ex5016 with an ultra quiet resonator for a really deep sound that’s not too loud. It should be just a little louder than the yonaka.

    Nice FG2, Im a fellow 8th gen si autocrosser Nice runs! It was good to see the improvements over each run. If i could give you a few tips, definitely try to break the habit of putting the clutch in on the tight turn around corners (which you did do less and less as the day went on, just worth mentioning) 2nd gear is always where you want to be. Data has shown that even a really fast shift is worth 4/tenths of a second, so its usually not worth the few extra MPH.. and the shift back down to 2nd can be risky. My other advice would be tighter is always faster on these smaller type course, shortening the distance in small amounts in a bunch of spots can make up a ton if time, especially around some key cones. Subbed for more grassroots 8th gen content 👍

    • @jayceminner
      @jayceminner Год назад

      Thanks for the advice, didn't even realize I was clutching until you mentioned that and went back and watched again. I had a lot of rotation that weekend because I had all seasons on the back with 200tw on the front, made it hard to keep it tight. Next time, in a week, I should have 200tw all the way around again. Gotta play around with tire pressures and coilover settings to fully dial it in over the next couple events.

      Sorry for the late reply man. Been a busy couple months. I used the Vision Auto Kit that comes with everything you need minus the brake master cylinder. I used the Acura TL-S master. It uses TL-S rotors with a shim behind it to center the rotor in the caliper. No drilling required but you do have to cut the rotor shield a little bit to give space for the caliper.

    Nice video mine makes the same noise what exactly was the issue

    • @jayceminner
      @jayceminner Год назад

      The clunking noise? Part of it was the camera but the major issue was a loose bolt in the rear suspension. Wasn't technically loose but it wasn't tight enough to fully clamp down on the lower shock mount so it had about 3mm to move around and make noise. Tightened it down more and the clunking went away.

    What solution did you come up with for the header clearance issue??

    • @jayceminner
      @jayceminner Год назад

      I spaced out the rear motor mount with 5 washers on each bolt. It gives just enough clearance but it makes lining up all the motor mounts a pita.

    You got more going on than I do. Except mine is a hell of a lot stiffer with 9 inch wide rims all the way around. I don't have any bolt on's I've been more focused on suspension more than anything. Got the same TLS brembos and shifter. In the front 12k front springs and 14k in the rear spherical bushings for lower control arm and camber arms, 24mm rear sway bar and 34 I believe up front I don't remember but it was the thickest one I could find. I still need to change the lower control/ trailing arm bushings then that'll be done next when I can. I also got a lightweight flywheel but other than that it's stock AF lol also yours looks a hell of a lot cleaner than mine with rims that actually look good!
