Simple Strathspey Ex No 1 Snare 80 bpm
Love the videos, perfect for me as a new drummer. Do you have any videos on flam taps? Having a problem with them. Sunday February 2nd. 6:30 pm.
Thanks....your drumming is amazing. Didn't you used to have a different channel?
You mean MrBest27?
Fantastic exercise!!
Perfect! Keep it up!!!!!
Perfect timing! I really needed to see this video. Thank you for creating it.
Nice. But where are the "scores"? Besides I never know for sure, what english words mean. So many double/triple meanings. Score is this paper with dots on it? For normal people is is hard enough to identify 3/4 in this kind of music. An additional obstacle. Let's see, if I can copy it by handish work in the DAW.
I’m working on that technique like crazy right now. I hope it shows up in my playing sooner rather than later.
🎉
🎉
Can I have the drum score?
Thank you. Clear, concise and confidence building approach!!!
In 1978 as an 18 year old I joined a pipe band in Victoria British Columbia Canada , We had an instructor I knew he could play some very hard thing s ! It even though I tired I did not fully understand and take in his level of playing being a young guy , His name was John Fisher and I kick myself till this day how much more I could have soaked in , I live in Vancouver now And see lots of the local pipe bands around including SFU , One time Jim Kilpatrick came up from Seattle I got to watch him and John and others just jam play around , lots of fun
This is just what I needed! Thanks
🎉

Nice I started out pipe drumming in 1979 , In Victoria British Columbia Canada, My first teacher was John Fisher , , I went on and played in The Canadian Navy Band , I live in Vancouver now don’t play so much but get to see some local pipe bands from around the metro Vancouver area including the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band once in a while ,
Good job ed

well done!
First place! Go, Highlanders.
Brilliant - thank you very much for this. I like the no-nonsense approach. As a beginner, I can follow along easily. Great stuff!
I'm going to try and ask a question about the very first bar from the score that I have... bear with me! flam > 5SR>5SR>flam>TRPLT>left stroke Now my question is about the very ending there. It seems like you play it as a 4 single stroke roll. The way my score reads is that it should be a quick triplet, pause for a second, then the left hand single note. Does that make sense? Like I'm interpreting the score as a quick triplet THEN a single stroke left: RLR wait L And what you're doing is: R-L-R-L Am I reading the score wrong? It looks like a 16th note triplet then an 8th note shot to end it. I'm new at reading sheet music :| Thanks in advance.
First of all, thank you for the question. :-) However the first part is Flam>7SR etc Which is the Triplet & rhythm with the first 3 notes buzzed And the triplet & needs to be 4 even notes. The current note value tells you how far away the next one is. Therefore, the irst 3 notes all have the same value. The 4th note is an 8th note, so now you wait a half beat before you can play again. The final roll of the line is a 13 stroke roll. I play 2 triplets and then a tap. The first 6 notes are buzzed. If we increased the tempo very much we might reconsider making these rolls duple, but as it stands, they are all triplet based. I hope this answers your questions Cheers! I hope this helps
Just another example of dumbing down the globe
In what way?
The tenor drummer needs not to go so hi in her flourishing
Great video. How would the notation look like if instead the roll portion was played as open rolls?
Interesting question, I'll make a video addressing that. Cheers!
wonderful explanation thank you clarifies so much!
Great stuff i am nearly there Harry J
So slow he makes it doable.
Do you have sheet music for this? I'd love to learn it.
I lost it when I switched computers. I've considered rewriting it out.
Love this one. Simple but sounds so full. Is there a link to the music anywhere?
There is no link, but I put the sheet music in the video so you can take a screen shot if, you'd like
Nice job breaking this down! Thank you
