How to refurb your Carbon Wheelset, with a rattle can!
#Cycling, #cyclinglife, #carbonbike #Yoeleo #carbonwheels
In this video I took my Road Carbon Wheelset and refurbished the paintwork.
Why? Good question. Simply put from lots of miles and a graphic that had seen better days the time had come.
However not without research, trials and tribulation. Follow this video to get the "Do's" and "Don'ts" of my experimentation.

Obviously Automotive grade paints with a 2K Clear coat (lacquer) is the way to go, if these guys aren't local to you.

    Thank you for the great video. I am considering the LCG071 frameset but want to run my existing Redshift stem. What headset cover and spacers are you running under your Redshift? How well does it fit? Thanks again.

      @@johnb.8615 Hi John. I've adapted the ones it came with by cutting off the nose. You can see when the camera pans under the handlebar a few minutes in 01:42. But I've also recently bought this from Ali Express to do my next build. a.aliexpress.com/_EQs1c8h For little over a fiver might help even if you use just the top piece. Thanks for watching very much appreciated.

      I am no youtuber that's for sure but I may do something when I get the frame ,I am a bike mechanic and I am fed up with poor quality frames I see from some of big brands and some of the online brands! When they are in for repair/service,and also fed up with the high cost of everything! I mean even with my discount of cost + it's still so expensive! .I am a mtber of 34 years and the MTB is bling ! But a gravel bike is a simple tool and doesn't need to cost £2.5- sky's the limit to get a nice frame and hydro brakes and nice wheels,so I ve went direct Lightcarbon ,Ltwoo,and elitewheels! And I and a trained wheel builder lol still cheaper to get wheels this way! ,Always ride my own built wheel on MTB but thought I'd give it a go!,give me a place to send pics when it all arrives (late November for wheels)

    Hello, what tyre size have on bike? is there any room for bigger tyres? Based on spec there should be space for 53mm, If I decide to buy for this frame I want to try fit 55mm :) Thank you, Pavel

    What made you go for the 55cm instead of the 52? Im just curious as Im looking at getting a carbon frame myself.

    • @whitebeardcycles
      @whitebeardcycles Месяц назад

      The geometry didn't seem to be too different from the 54cm Yoeleo I was riding (Geo geeks). I should of perhaps gone with the 52 and opted for a longer stem (but it also lowers the stack height). But shorter stems give a snappier feel and on my trails that's a plus.

    OMG I've forgot the all important weight. In this build with alloy wheels, stem and handlebar just over 9kg. So not too bad. Obviously you could make it lighter but this rides just fine! Also as a few have asked for tyre clearance. 700*53C or 650B*2.1'' or 29er*1.95''.

    How is your comparison to the rinasclta granite while building it up? I want a comfortable frame which fits 38mm tires to get a one bike does it all kinda bike. Thank you for the great videos!

    • @whitebeardcycles
      @whitebeardcycles Месяц назад

      Tbh both easy enough to build up if you have some experience. The LC can accommodate up to 700*53C or 650B*2.1 and is a relaxed geometry. I'd say IF I had to pick it would be the Lightcarbon. It's build quality has the edge and if you watch Hambini's recent review he'll back that up too. Thanks for watching.

    Really enjoyed your 3 part series on this frame! I'm planning to buy the same frame, but I'm wavering between size 52 and 54. As you bought the frame as a 54cm yourself, what are your body measurements? I'm 177cm tall with an inside leg length of 81cm. Both frames would fit me in terms of reach and stack but really not sure which size to choose. Thanks!

    • @whitebeardcycles
      @whitebeardcycles 4 месяца назад

      Hi, thanks for watching. As for sizing if you are finding yourself between sizes the general rule of thumb is to go a size lower as you can adjust seat post and handlebar reach easier to make a frame suit you but you obvs can't make a frame itself smaller. Furthermore, I would always recommend a professional bike fitter (not bike shop) and for circa over £130 it will be not only the best money spent but better than costly mistakes. For ref I am 180cm tall with an inside leg of 82cm. Also, contact the brand (but they, like many, will only use a sizing chart, and that doesn't allow for individuals' physiology. Good luck.

    • @coolcat1813
      @coolcat1813 4 месяца назад

      @@whitebeardcycles Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I am aware that the small size should be chosen in case you are between two sizes. Interestingly, the frame in 52 differs from the 54 in reach by only 3mm, which is of absolutely no relevance. the only difference is in the stack with a difference of 2cm. In general, the size increments don't seem to be very good, probably due to cost optimization in production. I've already had a fitting with measurements that suit me. bikeinsights is also a nice tool to compare with other frame brands. Will have to make a decision in the next days.

      @@whitebeardcyclescould you tell me if there is a lot of seatpost adjustability possible at the moment? I just ordered the 54cm version with a height of 183cm and inside leg of 87cm and read your comment. The geometry is very close to my current road bike but your seatpost does already look pretty high so now I am a little bit concerned that I went with the smaller size.
