Hi I just bought a 2012 Mazda speed 3 hatch and I’m getting a cylinder 4 misfire when I do my cold starts any ideas on what it could be

i've got 80k on my 2010 speed3. only issue i have is that my 5th gear will pop out so i have to keep my hand on the shifter to prevent that. other than that its been a great daily! getting it retuned with minor mods tomorrow. thats really all i need/want other than lowering and wheels

So glad you didn't trade for the Subaru. I traded my first IS300 for a Subaru in quickly regretted it in the car blew up in 2 weeks. Since then I've had another six is 300 including two wagons and I love them.

What turbo you running

For your rear street tire what size tube did you have to use? did you use the stock 12 inch size tube or did you have to get a wider tube to fit the tire?

I have 2012, completely stock, 137K just replaced all the fluids, no issues at all, brakes and rotors, at 120K. I bought it for my wife, time to replace the struts i think..

How's about oil consumption, how much is normal for speed 3s? Mine use from 0.5-1l on 1000km,depending on driving, i am using 5w40 castrol oil

It has a muted note, but definitely bassy and it snarls a little under throttle. I think stainless Cobb would only be a bit louder but not by much.

Nice video mate. I´currently also own a mazdaspeed 3 and I have a massife cut at 4000rpms. Already changed to ngk plugs and Denso Airmeter. Did a boost leak test with the smoke machine and all good. Live diagnoses shows that the O2 sensor shows very lean... but there is No fault code in the obd storage ;( I don´t know what else to check now.... Don´t want to buy new parts any more :D

I just have one question... Why do guys with front mounts install those massive airbrake scoops on the hood? If I install a front mount, first thing I'm doing is finding a hood with no scoop. @0:38... Shit, son, that's what I was paying for 87, and we don't even get 93, at any price. Quit yer bitchin'.

I have a 2024 Honda Civic sport Hatch 2.0L N/A 6 Speed manual. Ever since I test drove it new 5 miles at the dealer, the transmission shifted rough specially around 3rd and 2nd gears. I chose to purchase it thinking the transmissions would "break in" and smoothen out over time. It has been 4K miles already and the rough shifting continues. The synchros were not designed properly since during shifts the gears tend to bump shift instead of smoothly glide into the next gear. At times it feels like I'm shifting between rocks. I tried changing to diffrent trans fluids but the issue is the transmission design. Honda has gone down the tubes.

I've had my 08 MS3 for a few years now and have a few minor mods-its sitting at 221,000 at the moment and running pretty good. I am getting nervous though lol cause it is hard not to rip on it at times. This is with upkeep on maintenance and fixing/replacing minor things along the way.. Hoping to make it last longer but trying to plan for the inevitable. Don't know what to do when she blows- a built block would be nice but than id want to upgrade all the bolt on stuff as well but than that'll be costly...

Just an fyi but you can’t tune for a bov

Common mistake people make is thinking it's compressor surge..its not its called air reversal. Some turbo seals won't like it though. Many are fine with it though. Compressor surge is a stall in turbo in a high gear low rpm situation say going up a hill. Very rare in modern turbos anyway.

Nice video. Everything you say is accurate af. I got the second gear pop out and just baby it; I also let my car warm up before driving and cool down after operating. It actually says in the manual to do so; for most every car in fact. And for the turbo specifically, to let at least 30 seconds of cooling before turning off the car otherwise you can cause damage to the turbo. Especially if you were running it hard. As well as not to run the turbo hard when you first turn on the car. I think all these things taken into consideration and with proper care and maintenance, these are great vehicles to own for anybody who loves a car with great speed and acceleration while not being too pricey comparing to a WRX or greater.
