The US has ton of adventurers coming from someone who has rock climbed since they were 8. The difference is the media in the US doesn't care about it as much as australian media.
Sailing around the world is about AFFORDING IT...many, many have set off with 0 experience and deep pockets and are fine..larger sailboats practically sail themselves...it's every country and business that wants $$$ that's the challenge.
