@@lespritdubois was thinking the base and top frame should be separate so you can lift it off. Rout channels for small magnets to hold them together

@@lespritdubois no matter my friend. It's an excellent work.

If an LED bulb is used (one for enclosed fixtures), figure a bulb life of about 13 years at 3 hours a day use.

@@miket2120 And figure that those marketing numbers aren't always what you get, you might as well have to exchange it after a few months already. The LED bulbs I bought so far showed mixed life times. Some are still in operation after years while others gave up after a few months already. Depending on the housing or lamp glass you place them in and their quality some cease to exist quite quickly. So better plan ahead and make it replaceable. Heat and especially overheating can drastically shorten whatever times are stated on the package.

@@johnnyz7752 By breaking one of the sides or the top, there's no other way. When I see videos like this one, I always think to myself, why people do those projects in a rush. Everything needs to be done quickly. CA glue, so you can put together everything right away, brad nails too etc etc. I'd have gone with some regular wood glue and clamps. No need for CA (allergies included) and also no need for brads that can split the wood. The bulb could have been made accessible from the bottom by using two layers of wood and a recess or such. Not too hard to make actually. This way it's a disposable lamp 😛 Also the maker should give the tools a little treat, so they don't burn the wood but cut it. But still a thumbs up for the idea!
