The BTM CLUB "In Conversation" with Eddie Henderson
Henderson was born in New York City on October 26, 1940.[1] At the age of nine he was given an informal lesson by Louis Armstrong, and he continued to study the instrument as a teenager in San Francisco, where he grew up, after his family moved there in 1954, at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.[1][2]
Henderson was influenced by the jazz musician Miles Davis, who was a friend of his parents.[2] They met in 1957 when Henderson was aged seventeen.[1]
After completing his medical education, Henderson went back to the Bay area for his medical internship and residency.[1] It was a week-long gig with Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi band that led to a three-year job, lasting from 1970 to 1973.[1...

A delightful encounter with three of the many ladies who contributed to the trilogy, "Women behind the mic". These ladies tell the amazing stories of the uncelebrated female power houses, females of colour in the music industry who were never given their flowers. These ladies are those who are an absolute necessity behind the scenes, supporting, underpinning and directing the success of the sta...

I don't get to see each episode, but I enjoy interviews.
Jeff Lorber I been buying his recordings since the late 70s ! So many great pieces! Magician was amazing but many albums I own and so much pure talent ! I saw Jeff many times at the Jazz festivals super nice guy ! It's an amazing story about him and his wife what an act of love ! I was just thinking about him the other day ? One of my all time favorites!
What sucks is the timing, that second album would have for much better a couple years later, I loved Boulevard Of Broken Dreams which was perfect for 1990❤
My boy was chugging that drink 😂…cheers, I love hearing these stories
She’s such an inspiration, congratulations to her 🙏🏾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great interview. So good to have Carl tell his story from the beginning. I didn’t know about your affection for Jean Adebambo, who was a lovely young woman, who I worked with for “ Paradise “. Well done, Barrie for getting Carl to the mic! Looking forward to part 2 x
❤❤❤

Thank you for your positive feedback. Mutual respect Mr. ❤
I know a lot about American Music History, especially, soul music or R&B. Caribbean music came when I became older and listened to the Wailer and Sparrow. This interview was fascinating because I'm seeing the UK's evolution in various music venues. Thank you for the enlightening.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback. Much appreciated.
GET IT UP FOR NED!!!
The more I come across old clips of Madeline singing the more I am amazed that she did not become a major international solo star .She had it all , a sublime voice, a warm, engaging and charismatic personality and she always dressed with such innate taste and style - not always easy to pull of with 60s & 70s fashions I think ! Yet Madeline always looked great .She nailed it every time . She should write a book about her amazing life and the amazing people she worked with ...and who were lucky enough to work with her too . What an amazing book that would be .
What an awesome interview. She looks good and it's nice to see her.

I have Madeline's Doin' Things and an expanded version of Bell's A Poppin' albums from the 60s and they are amazing, why she didn't become a bigger name is beyond me. Go and watch Dusty singing I Don't Want To Go On Without You from her show 1966 with Madeline, Lesley and Barbara on BV's, also the Beat Club clips of Madeline in the 60s. Great interview.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback it is greatly appreciated. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the interview. Do check out some of the other artists on the chianti, i think you may enjoy them. One again, many thanks.
