I love learning and doing DIY automobile work. I have learned a lot by watching RUclips videos and this is my way of giving something back to the community. Hoping to get better at video recording, narration and editing to deliver quality content. I also work on electronics and fixes around the home.

READ THE @mguerramd COMMENT !!! He should also have cleaned off all the corrosion and painted the housing for further protection. As to the oven comment - at 350 degrees you may well damage the grease and/or the seals, and shorten the life of the bearing. The comment below about the stainless shields offering less protection than a truly sealed bearing is spot on.
isnt this dangerous? Better to just replace hub?
It could be if the threads were completely stripped. Made sure I was able to torque the bolt to spec after cleaning up the threads.

Thanks for the vid! Question: can you tell me where/how your ground wire connected to the chassis here? Was it a custom job or was it the same setup that came with the stock radio? Reason I ask is my Altima got broken into and I had a few wires cut out before it was stolen, and I've never had to take a look inside before this.
If i remember correctly, I connected the ground to the exposed metal (around 1:48 in the video). Sorry, the video wasn't clear at the point.

When you put back the transmissions why did yu turn the crank ?
To align the splines with the transmission input shaft

Thanks for the update. Hope it lasts for at least a couple of years.
btw make sure you disconnect the negative first. its only a little safer but its so easy to do and can stop fires and save your airbags on some cars
Great video
The rubber washer you pulled off at 7:39…do you know the size? Mine was destroyed when I got to that point.
You may have to take the old one to a pool supply store and find out.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was very helpful. I think I am going to have to do this exact repair. You have helped me to prepare for the job by sharing the bearing information. Thanks!
I'm glad it's helping you out. Keep me posted on how the repair goes.
How have you found the camera picture copes with rain, and is the infrared picture good enough for parking at night time? Have you had any issues with the camera like unstable picture? I haven't had any issues with the camera or night time use. It's still working great.
Thanks for the vid. Successfully changed mine today without breaking the sensor lol. I was so stressed.
Wow! Good job. Congratulations!
The front flange on the motor is to corroded to be reused!! That flange controls how much pressure is applied to the rotating seal, and it's gone!!

Aa said before, never tap on the outer race. If you put the bearing in a toaster oven on broil @350° for 10 minutes it will usually push on by hand. You will need heat resistant gloves. Nice work by the way.

What position does it fail in? Like say it blows the fuse in your 12 volt port. What happens does it just leave you with your car stuck in the air
You can supply power using a 110v to 12v converter. It doesn't come down without power.
@@SivaFolsom that was a concern of mine. Because I've had a 12-volt Port blow its fuse with inopportune timing in the past. Just makes me wonder about those kind of things now.
@@1Samuel1524 I agree. I always have a backup method available before using it.
On Amazon: "Safe The self-locking power structure feature keeps the raised jack from falling, even when the power is off. When the power is reconnected, the jack will still stay at that height." In other words, as Mr. Siva Folsom said, "always have a backup".
Hey, thanks so much for this video. My base switch reads about 1000ohms in the closed position, whereas the other blue switch reads about zero. I don't have a beeping multi meter so I'm wondering if my readings mean my base blue switch is faulty. If so, do you have any recommendations on how to replace it?
If you are getting that high resistance in closed position, it's very likely the switch is bad. Your resistance should be 0. You can buy the OEM microswitch from Honda or buy aftermarket version from Amazon and modify to fit. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ABIPV5Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@SivaFolsom Thanks, just ordered one from digikey. I also cleaned up all the linkages like you said, but have a quick question. Curious if you know.

Nice video👍. I just ordered the damper retro kit for my ZTech from RetroZone based on your installation instruction. My setup is similar , but I have a two wire, but can to 3 wire. My syncron motors just went out on a 22 year old system. I didn't like the idea of replacing it with an OEM motor that was always drawing power. Seemed very wasteful and inefficient .
