Nice!
palladium dissolve?
@@khalidkalva5 palladium definitely reacts with this, but I'm not sure if it would dissolve.
if you can take a seed crystal and grow it into a single crystal, it will be gold coloured
@@SodiumInteresting it would be if it were the anhydrous dioxide. The dihydrate has to be heated to moderately high temperatures under argon to remove the water molecules from the compound, something I'm certainly not able to do.
You captured a great view, when you shone the light on it!
How to prepare it?

Osmium and Jerry Shostakovich in the same video?? INSTANT SUB ❤
My friend, in which areas should I look for osmium geologically, also 395 nm or 365 nm uv lasers also show osmium ore fluorescence?
Osmium is so rare that gold is plentiful by comparison. While it is found naturally, it's more elusive than a ghost. Osmiridium has been found in Australia, Russia, and some other places. But the only way to obtain osmium in macroscopic quantities is to simply buy it. Pretty much all the osmium that can be found or mined on Earth was delivered by asteroids. There's probably a higher concentration of osmium at the bottom of the ocean off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula.
@@The_OsmiumChannel Yes, you are right, theoretically and in terms of data, you have touched on the right subject, I have data and ore samples that there are trace amounts of osmium in the rhenium ore field in Turkey, the main purpose of asking you a question is whether I can detect osmium with UV rays and fluorescence, for example, gold and silver compounds as minerals show brown fluorescence colour under 395 nm UV light, have you ever learned about osmium compounds and UV rays?
@@serkanylmz8710 I don't know. I would assume an XRF would suffice for detecting it in ores. I have little to no knowledge about how osmium metal presents under UV light at certain wavelengths.
Such an interesting property,is sodium osmate stable enough to be isolated?
@@ugarit5404 it's so soluble that crystallization is extremely difficult. Potassium osmate produces exactly the same colors, but it can and has been isolated from solution. It forms dark red crystals.
What is the ratio ?
@@ravimangalam Roughly 1:1. I wouldn't recommend messing with this mixture though. It's literally terrifying ☠️☠️☠️
Great video..❤❤❤
Hello is Russia❤
👍
Very interesting
@@amanitaocreata4401 It's fascinating, for sure. I should try mixing it with NaOH and isopropyl alcohol entirely absent of ethanol just to see what happens. Because osmate might be weakly complexing with alkali ethoxide, methoxide, etc. So perhaps there'd be an interaction with alkali isopropoxide? Would there be a color, or would it go clear? Can isopropyl alcohol even reduce OsO4? So many questions.
I'm intrigued by your obsession, I guess, with osmium
The music??? I was expecting it to rain. 😂 Why do people put music in their videos anyway? I've never been able to figure out what it's supposed to do. 🤔
Im sure the camera doesnt do the color justice.. id be curious to know how much of that color is from the osmium blue?
If I'm being honest, it has little to nothing to do with the color of osmium metal. Iridium and ruthenium are both silvery metals, and they produce very strongly colored compounds. The platinum group metals in general all produce some very strongly colored compounds. Also, the camera captured the color pretty well I thought.
Yummy
I thought the same!! 😂 thirsty guys..lol
So you're saying this DEFINITELY belongs on r/forbiddensnacks??
Learn how to properly set the volume levels dude we can barely hear you talking but then the MUSIC BLASTS VERY LOUDLY!
