Inside Sarah Tse’s Studio
Within my canvas, I want to create this fearless and passionate butterfly to remind my audience how empowering metamorphosis can be. I hope women including myself will live like a butterfly - elegant, fearless, confident, and free.

Mixed Media Painting From Recycle Materials by Sarah Tse
Просмотров 2703 года назад
Sharing the process of making my mixed media painting 'Alces Alces' in my studio. I first developed unique surfaces by collaging layers of different materials: recycled paper, lace, grass, cloth, sand, resin and moulding paste on wood panels. Afterwards I would paint with watercolour, egg tempera and charcoal pencils on the unconventional surface. My recent mixed media work challenged the conse...

THE ART OF LITHOGRAPHY by Sarah Tse
Просмотров 5 тыс.11 лет назад
LITHOGRAPHY- a traditional planographic printing process that makes use of the immiscibility of grease and water. I spent 4 months learning how to print a lithograph, and I am totally in love with the progress of laying ink and sponging the plate :) Shoot in SVA print shop in New York facebook: SarahTseART more info about lithography: www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/343748/litho...

Thank you for the walk through, I'm very inspired! Hey can you tell me what you set your copper plate on, I saw that it didn't move at all, even though you were using a fair bit of pressure on it.

Strange image. Nice demonstration overall. (I just found another of my etchings acquired by another museum). Intaglio is such a wonderful process. I always get a jolt of electricity when I see a Charles Brand press. I actually met the old Brand brothers in their lower eastside workshop way back when!

And to think that little kids that are aspiring artists are watching and might watch this Freemason/illumanti bullshit made by some souless eye'd woman who thinks it's cute to glorify a practice and a theology that lacks the comprehension to acknowledge the greatness of God.. .

Shhh. Seriously people will be triggered if you point too much out. Nowadays good is bad and bad is good. Better not to question too much. People don't see anything behind what's there

@@autumnortiz6782 Hmm, that's unfortunately anti-Catholic imagery, hence the Pope hat. So, great video, but I ain't liking it! I've read too much anti-Catholic stuff, even though I'm not religious or Catholic - I just like history. Remember, most 1,000+ year old institutions have issues if you look hard enough...

I really like the image on the plate Sarah - I am surprised you still use mineral spirit to remove the etching hard ground. You can now get environmentally safer things to do this such as "Zest it" as a replacement for turpentine and similar solvents.

PLEASE NOTE - you can 'degrease' your metal plate using cream cleaner (Jif is one brand that springs to mind) the stuff that is used to clean sinks and baths. You can squirt that onto your plate and give it a good rub with a cloth, then rinse. Add a little water to be able to manipulate the mix on the plate as you give it a good rub all over. You might need to do that 3 times until the water runs off the plate in a smooth film. I am saying this because it is NON TOXIC to your lungs or chest ...............this is much safer than using whiting and ammonia( or alcohol) . I was taught to use this process many years ago but now ....we use the JIF method. When you are in your twenties you cant be bothered and think oh I 'll just use whats here.........BUT IT DOES affect your health in the long term. I have experience of this.

JIF(aka CIF) is described as having limestone particles in it. Won't that scratch a polished plate?
