1200 Mile Back Country Motorcycle Trip on a Budget! // PNW ADV // DR350's // 11 Days
Просмотров 13 тыс.2 года назад
Johnny and Milla take to the backroads of the Pacific Northwest again for a 1200 mile impromptu journey. With bootleg .GPX files and trusted classic dualsports (DR350), they traverse desert, mountain, coastline and canyon over an 11 day trip. We hope this video serves as an inspiration to those who may believe you need a fancy adventure bike or tons of gear to get out there and enjoy some back ...
Great video, thank you. I lived there for 25 years, 3 generations, my father build many roads out Franklin, Cameron, Sproat and Clayoquot Divisions. I'm doing a 10 day DRZ 400 trip in September. Looking for more partners... Can you tell me where you went swimming on that gravel bar beach on the lake 14:30.. was that Kennedy Lake?
Here I am back again watching this fantastic video for the 4-5th time. I laugh every time the excavator wakes you guys up while you’re camped on the road. I mean seriously, what are the odds you pitch a tent in the middle of nowhere on the exact road and the exact day that he walks his machine up there ?!?!? 😂😂💪
Amazing job putting this video together!
Very nice video and sorry for most of the Vancouver Island forest roads being gated!
Amazing trip
Love Mosko products and have their bags on all my bikes! Enjoying your vids ,thanks!
Cool video and good tunes!
Great video!
Congrats on having the best riding partner and girl in the world.
What a great video guys, you nailed it. Good job. Any chance of sharing the route and campsite locations? Or is that a trade secret?
That looks like a blast. First bike was a dual sport, DR200. Little small but perfect for this. Now I'm on a goldwing, idk if it will play in the dirt so well. I've taken it off road once and it was a bear to keep that weight up. This video is inspiring. Going to have to do more of this.
I grew up in Spokane and twice way back in the early 70s my folks loaded up me and my sibs into an old motorhome over summer vacation and camp for a week or so at Neah Bay.. it seemed like a different world to us.. I remember roaring surf, Sunburns and Bon fires. Thank you !
It’s truly a magical place! I can’t imagine how wild and pristine it must have been back in those days. Probably not many tourists around!
Awesome video. Hit us up if you want to do more exploring in the North Olympic Forest. We're located near Sequim.
Hell yeah y’all, will do!
Sweet ride.
Thanks brotha, it was a fun one.
Easy to fast forward through though.
Why don't you go pour your heart into some videos instead of talking crap on others work?
You ruined your video just like Mexico did when I went swimming with Dolphins. They recorded stupid music over all my conversations and turned it into an AD instead of a memory.
sorry you don't like music dude *shrug*
You absolutely captured the beauty of Vancouver Island. Well done 👍
True Adventure riding.. Keep it up. That shot when you were up high and the water below in the fjords was full of clouds and fog.. Like out of a plane taking off and you were flying!
That's what it's all about! We were so close to not checking that road out too!!
You are now my favorite RUclips channel...hope for more to come...love the music too.!!! The washboard got old quick on my Harley on NF-23...then last year with my XR650R on a car carrier behing my new sprinter van the handlebar hit the rear window and broke the glass...you guys are traveling the very best way!!! Ask me how I know!!! Lol...
I have watched thousands of traveling videos. This was the best. I'm 60 years old. I have two motorcycles, a Harley and a Honda Dual Sported XR650R...I wish my wife rode...she doesn't. I so envy seeing you two doing what you do here. I've been all over the western USA on my Harley. I've taken my dual sport a few places too but on the back of my van to each destination. Vancouver Island is an egg I need to crack...I live in Orting, Wa. Also: I quit listening to new music 20 years ago...gotta say, I enjoyed listening to all of your fresh tunes synced to beautiful road landscapes...the peak of Summer season...it doesn't get much greater than this. You two might consider taking the Anacortes Ferry to SE Alaska in June and early July...get off at each stop, explore, and get back on to next destination on the next ferry. DR350'S? They're older model's right? But they sure did you well. Prolly great fuel mileage too, and lighter weight when you dump it...I hope you guys can do more of this. I subscribed just now. I can't say enough of how inspiring it was to watch the both of you taking it all in. I like your style, and that's how I roll as well. No motels... Thanks for sharing!!!
Wow that's a big compliment! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. That's a great idea about Alaska. We already rode up the Casear from WA in 2018 and I have family in KTN so it would be great to do a moto trip up there. I'm thinking Prince of Wales island. Take care!
Ripp it up !
What type of camera are you using for the off bike shots?
had a dji mini 3 drone, insta360 x2 and an iphone 12
Well done.
I wondered who took the cable down at that gate .. thanks <3
What camera do you use? On a stick? Was that a drone too? Well done on this video. Where do you source your music?
The music is all my buds. Go pro, insta 360 cam and a DJI drone were used. And an iphone
What an absolutely epic adventure!! I’ve lived on VI my whole life (58) and this vid makes me want to explore it more ! Great job on this video. The editing, the scenery, the bikes !! Outstanding. Makes me want to not be such a pussy when it comes to gates and comfort and such and just explore !! I’m going to share your trip on some of our local adv groups. Wicked !!!!
Thanks man glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome scenery, and fantastic bikes.
Amazing adventure! I grew up on Vancouver Island and this makes me miss it so much. Beautiful video of a beautiful place
7:40 this is why lighter is better ;)
Beautiful trip guys! Whats the music at 13:20?
Nicely done. looks like a great trip. We're planning to do a similar trip, from Olympia, in May. This gets me excited!
Have fun!
You guys did an amazing job with this video. My girlfriend and I are moving from Phoenix to Seattle next year and I cant wait to explore the outdoors on our dual sports there. Definitely cant wait to spend some time in the Vancouver islands now after watching this. Did you guys have to take alot of ferries between the islands or was it mostly bridges? I know there are alot of different islands to explore there.
We just took the one from Port Angeles to vancouver island and back. But there's lots more islands for sure
It’s all ferries from Vancouver Island to the other gulf islands and to the mainland. No bridges.
Great video…. I’m going to have to get myself out there soon. Do you have an instagram as well?
Yep, @johnnyandmilla
You guys get it. Gates? Scary no trespass signs all over the roads? Hahaha that's cute, but imma just keep going!
That's right!
I just stumbled upon this. This kicks ass! Great mix of bikes, scenery and music! Absolutely love it!
Thanks!
Your trip popped up on my RUclips feed..I'm sitting at home watching videos waiting for spring to come then summer so I can get out again myself.. This looked like a great trip! Thanks for sharing
Glad you liked it!
Great route! Love the gravel. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video guys. We are doing a west coast bike trip this coming summer. Watching yours has me itching to get going.
That's the idea! Enjoy your trip
Nice adventure spirit!
That's what it's all about!
Epic adventure, beautiful video, outstanding music choices! Working on building my DR350S for touring. Safe travels ❤
I used to live in Oly. PNW is a beautiful place to ride.
Did y’all use stock sprockets and how’d it do on the longer highway stretches?
@@irislavender5889 We both rock the 16t front sprocket. We don't do any super gnarly stuff or very very long so it works out fine.
What did you use to mount your phone? I was going to go for a RAM x-mount on my DR, but I don't want to kill my camera. It seems like the quadlock with the damper is the only one that is recommended.
Well my camera actually started malfunctioning at the end of our last trip so my solution is probably not great. Until I saw this I didn't even connect the dots. I should probably upgrade this year.
Great video and I absolutely loved the tunes too. Looks like you two had a fantastic adventure. Will be doing a similar trip next summer on my vstrom. Cheers!
Safe travels!
Phenomenal! I lived in van island for three years and didn't explore it as much as you guys did! 💯
I have an old DL1000 (Vstrom) that I tour on, but I'm thinking about a DR350 as a more trail oriented second bike. I also like to use a hammock for motocamping. Do you guys sleep two up in yours? If so, what hammock works for that?
Yeah we used to sleep two up in a few different hammocks. This was the warbonnet flagship hammock I can't remember the model. Great company. We're rocking the tent these days, hammock is a little situational but as we get older (some of us are in our 30's now) it's just too much of a pain. Still love a good hammock camp every now and again though.
Excellent trails here in Washington. Tahuyia national forest and belfair to name a couple. Nice video! Love seeing you guys rip on the DR350s. Cheap, reliable, getrdone dual sport
100% ! Still haven't been to those spots! But I've heard good things. Beautiful country out here.
Planning to migrate to vancouver but afraid that i wont be able to enjoy riding over there, but this video really convinced me to migrate!
There is no shortage of riding, my friend! Good luck with your move!
Awesome trip!
What a beautiful and fun adventure! Love VI!
It's a really incredible place! Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
I saw your video on reddit!
Thanks for stopping by, Carlos!
so pretty and neat
