I do not see a way to "update" the driver, however it possible to use the latest driver or trying the Mac "air print" driver. Some settings could be missing, but will allow for basic use.

In this case, its possible to use a generic Mac driver to be able to print. Results may very, but can work. Technology companies seem to do that, dont they. Its a bummer for sure.

Which model of Canon do you have? This is usually a separate software, but depends on the model of device you have.

Unfortunately we are not an Epson service center. Epson might possibly have a universal driver that would work. Best I could advise is contacting Epson. Sorry.

When I search this model on Canons site, at the top it says in red letters "PIXMA MG2220 has been retired. Product support is no longer available". In this case, I would search related models, and try using a generic UFR II driver.

Its hard to know with out knowing the setup. Possibly it could be connection (network) issue, IP address conflict, a port issue, or an issue with your MACs CUPS protocol.

I am unable to find any settings that will allow this. I believe this is because Canon is more "production" style vs other companies. They prefer settings to be more specific to result in a better output. Ignoring paper size or type has a higher chance of jams or incorrect quality. If I do find anything, I will be sure to update this comment.

which model do you have? usually its listed in the user settings. Or on a system print out.

usually this means that the driver was not fully added to the Macs library, Running the installer that you downloaded usually fixes this. Its possible to add the driver manually by dragging from downloads to the printer library folder. I have not tried this on the newer devices, but should also work.

@@officeshopinc Thank you for getting back to me! .... Password on my macbook to link the macbook pro to the printer. The newest updates to Macbook make it difficult to follow the directions I have found show the older versions. I am in a building with multiple businesses. each business has a specific password for printing. I am assuming it is that password I need to add into the formatting to allow me to print from my laptop.

Oh, so they are shared devices? You were assigned a code or login to track what you print? Is that correct? If so, I will see how to save, but per print job you can add it: -Print> More Options (if from Chrome) > Print using system dialog > Print Options> Special features (click the i) > under User management click Settings > And enter your username and password. I have seen 2 reasons for the model to not show in the list after download. 1- the model might be combined with another (example C5240 and C5235. But searching C5235 shows nothing) 2- the driver was downloaded, but the install file was not ran. After running the installer, the drivers should be added to the library. 3- Possibly the computer needs a restart (not as common these days, but possible)

Thank you for your comment. Im sorry your device is not listed. I do not see that model either, however if you search for a FS-1370DN, this device is very similar and should work. It does appear that currently most devices are using the (KX Print Driver (8.2.0623)) If this does not work, let me know and I will send a message to Kyocera and find a solution.

This video is more for the Image Runner models. I have not worked with the ip8720, but from other ink jet devices this is what I had to do to find the info: -Press and hold the RESUME / CANCEL button, then release the button when the POWER lamp flashes white 6 times this should print out a report that half way down the page, displays the IPV4 address.
