Thanks, Andy! I was not waiting for an DN-update - but after checking the first specs it was clear for me to get one. The 16 tracks, drums, Swarmer machine and the polyphonic sequencer adds so much more value than I ever expected. Also a super sequencing brain for my Roland JP8080, but currently standalone usage is the operational choice for me to learn the features better and to dig deeper. If you don't need polyphonic sequencing or all the additional tracks, sticking with DN1 is a super reliable choice

Thanks a lot! Actually, I don't mix Eurorack and Groovebox stuff (to keep complexity managed somehow). Nevertheless: 1010 Bluebox (external, non-Eurorack) is / would be my device of choice, as the Bluebox can handle the high Eurorack levels (and the normal line levels as well). On top you could connect every device and even record up to 12 single tracks mono or 6 stereo. You can monitor via headphones - or send the signal to PA.

Thanks a lot, Johannes! I think in general you could create most sounds on DN1 as well (true FM specialists are probably able to create any sound on a DN1). There will always be workarounds (use two tracks panned left and right + detuned saw-waves + chorus to get a swarmer- like sound). If you don't need 16 tracks (for me the instant buy argument, as I now have many potential midi tracks - and can create drums AND melodies directly on DN2), maybe a DN1 could be a very good option for you. Currently those devices are offered at relatively low prices on the second hand market - and will give a lot of bang-for-the-buck. Nevertheless: the additional machines speeded up (my workflow) significantly. In terms of "analogue" or "warm" sounds: Also digital devices can sound incredibly lush and rich. This machine offers so much more than FM synthesis with Swarmer-, Wavetone- and FM-Drum-Machines. Plus three (!) LFOs (LFO 3 enabling crossmodulation). My initial guess was: a super modern machine reviving some of the really cool Monomachine features plus an awesome modern sequencer. Moreover: sixteen tracks is a lot (at least for me). Here, I used tracks 1-4 for melodies, 9-16 for drums. Some people might not even need an additional drum machine. Otherwise, you could use the spare tracks as midi-machines and sequence whatever you like. Soundwise you can do everything between lush pads, banging techno and industrial noise🖖 Have fun with your Digitone 2!
