Thank you man , fast talking not wasting time straight to the point , love ❤
I'm also Canadian moving there, are you able to share the name of the building you were in or area?
I am Colombian and a 2 bedroom furnished in the best area is about 3K.
how much money for a G of coca ? bogota ? pure
Do you recommend that i come first to a hotel then search for an apartment? If yes would you please tell me what venue i should follow . What visa if i am canadian ? How long i am eligible to stay . Also tell us how to get a Colombiansim card please? Thank for your efforts to make it easy for you fellow Canadiens and Americans too. Please advise
Thank you
That's overrated.
Vancouver is operated and very expensive.
I see this is nearly a year old but I wonder how the prices in San Cris compare to Oaxaca. Everyone always says it’s less. Prices are really up here this year. I live here but am looking to move to a less expensive but lovely place.
Be still....and speak.
Me just retired 8 months ago and we are traveling between Mexico and Argentina in search of our favorite cool weather cities. We are currently in the mountains of Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Without budgeting at all we spend $1000-$1100 total, doing everything we want to do. Eventually we will make it to Colombia and think we will like the coffee triangle. According to websites like numbeo, we will spend pretty close to what we are spending now…maybe a tad more.
So much for low cost of living
Why rent so much there so much ,it's a second world country, columbians couldn't afford that kind of rent most anyways
San Cris-TÓ-bal :) es super seguro. Have never ever had even the slightest of negative experiences there. A wonderful town!
Good info.....but, por favor, it's San Cris-TÓ-bal! The stress is on the middle syllable. If you live there you ought to pronounce it correctly :) Wonderful town, btw! Me encanta totalmente!
I hate that you talk with your hands 😓
Find it helpful actually. “To each their own” I guess
Yes, such a distraction 😮
He is very helpful ... buddy, let him does whatever he wants .. he is helping others
Too bad you didn’t show any of those apartments or said if utilities or anything was extra..
Well , you said it was actually $400 CAD for the 2-3 bedroom apartment.. your share was $200
I think it is a good video. I've lived in playa for years and pay 200, but in the expats group everyone can't seem to find a place for under 500. It's like, you can bang on any door in Colosio and find em for 100. How detached they are from local prices really surprises me.
Charles Schwab doesn’t charge a ATM fee. They will also refund any ATM fees you get. Also Morgan Stanley has the same setup as Charles Schwab 😊
Curious to know why you were not able to get residency?
Thank you so much for the video. Exactly what I needed. I’m flying there next week and excited about renting an apartment without paying crazy amount of money like in USA.
I would assume the police checking you at night is a good thing. You are a male walking alone at night, which can look suspicious ( I've been offered drugs by many male drug dealers at night when I travel ) and they checked you for drugs. So id say its a good safety protocol .
That means beach of songs right?
PS familiar with center of San Chris from other Vlogs. Beautiful. Dont mind. 2 yrs aho apartment on first floor of nice hotel $500/mo. Sure it.gone up but will contact again. Any opinion about winter.konths? Not a low elevation.
I found the area in the centre to be more expensive compared to a little walk from there…
I would like to know what your thoughts are on being slightly outside the 'city' (5km?) Like to have some land in a relatively scenic area with decent housing. [A wish list.] Used to a little.more rural.area. indigenous area fine. Thoughts?
I’ve only been in the city so I’m not sure what living in a more rural area would be like…
Transportation - maybe you are happy just going into town once a week?
🍀
Loisisoso
No
Yes
Was just there. It's very sketchy
@@AnamCaraDeMexico depends where... there's certainly places/areas you might not want to be especially late night :) my 2 month experience there was great
What websites do you use to search for places?
Most times I use air b n b first and sometimes facebook groups also work well.
I prefer Air b n b the first time because you will never have any problems with getting support if you have issues with anything
What I suggest is contacting the host before you book and ask them any questions you have. From there you can proceed to book the place if you like it for short or long term. In case you want to get a better deal you can always book for a few days and get the hosts Whatsapp # where you can then offer to pay them in cash. Most times this works and you can negotiate a better deal especially for long term stays. Just keep in mind to not do this through Air b n b's communication system as they may block your account since they want payments to be processed through their platform so they can get their share.
We need more visuals- how did you find a real Estate agent you could trust - US dollar is more common - so you were not at a beach apt, but near mountain. Thanks - you were descriptive, that helped.
I usually use Air B n B the first time and then I negotiate a better rate with the host and pay them in cash if they agree.
@@traveltimeisnow agree, we stayed in Santa Marta, more towards the center of Santa Marta like you mentioned, the airport area is much farther away from convenient locations, you cannot walk to a grocery store that's more economical, Olimpica, and like you mentioned, in the airport area, the high rise we stayed at had a mall walking distance from the apt we rented and the only grocery store it had was Carulla. Also the restaurants were high end as well, that's why we moved towards the Gaira area, also know as the "Reserva de la Sierra" area. We walked a lot from the apt that we rented to the Olimpica grocery store and to restaurants. There was also more businesses walking distance, i.e., nail salon, drug store, etc. Just a word of caution, if you are staying in a building, there's a lot of breeze the higher you stay in a building so if your balcony door is open and you happen to open the front door be careful to not allow the wind to forcecibly slam the door shut, it happened to us and was embarrassing due to it disturbing the neighbors. Another thing, if you would like to keep your apartment cool I suggest to keep the shades closed during the day and no windows open and keep the air conditioning running, we only had a/c units in both bedrooms but not anywhere else in the apartment. It the higher the floor, the hotter it gets. Also buy bottled water at the grocery store and put it in the freezer, when you leave to go out take a frozen bottle along, it helps to cool you down.
Great video! Thanks for breaking down the cost...would love to see more of your work. Straightforward and great info
Thank you Eric :)
1000 Canadian is 730 USD but thats cool, could you like write down the expenses in a comment?? Thanks for your video.
I just stayed in Bogota again very recently and my rent was $270 cad + my food cost was $250 cad and transportation was around $20 cad for the entire month. My stay there was even lower than before.
At this time of year and after the pandemic why are the beaches and stores being restricted? Is this Nationwide, could you please tell me?
They are no longer restricted.
I didn't clearly say the time of those restrictions in the video. The restrictions were in 2020. I'm in Colombia right now and everything is open :)
If you plan to go to Colombia right now just make sure to check the current entry requirements regarding vaccination. If you are not vaccinated then you may have to present a negative test.
Nice vid
Btw in regards to the “15 years old Venezuelan kid” it was probably a scam, Venezuelans will usually put their kids to beg for food so they can sell it later for cheaper prices so people will buy it, i guess they make a lot of money out of it. I hope it was not for that since I see that you had good intentions.
@@breiderc That's interesting... I just assumed he wanted it for food to eat so hopefully that was the case :)
I'm glad you like it :)
@@traveltimeisnow not all Venezuelan immigrants are bad. So I hope that wasn’t the case too :)
@@breiderc Yes, I've actually had someone from Venezuela help me get cash multiple times in Colombia when I wasn't able to access any with my card :).
