    In the UK I would tie so much faster with no gloves, a pair of end cutters made in the USA and no tag ends of wire, both would be cut leaving no tag ends to connect with the shutter face and promote rust of the bars.

    When would you use the saddle/wrap, instead of saddle?

    Column: A vertical support structure. Pronounced: col-um (‘n’ is silent) Not pronounced: col-yum.

    Does bar size influence the tie type? I was installing rebar for a light column footing ( 10' x 10' x 8') and was using #11 bars...and was unsure what tie type was required.

    • @aiatplocal7205
      @aiatplocal7205 Год назад

      The type of tie is determined by many factors such as bar size, position, weight and quantity. The extra wrap is sometimes used to help prevent the bar from rotating like when assembling a column with 90 degree terminations. It can also be used at the rigging points on columns to add extra support to the connection being rigged so the bars don't slip. You may also use them on walls where they are built in place. The extra wrap can help support the bars when climbing the wall and will help resist sag. Ultimately it is up to the person installing to determine when and how many to use based on experience and time.

    If the employer is non union can I still be indentured?

    • @aiatplocal7205
      @aiatplocal7205 Год назад

      We can only register apprentices who are working for signatory employers (union employers). If you are working for a non signatory employer (non-union) you would need to enter into an apprentice contract with that employer and the government. you would then be responsible to manage that contract on your own.

      @@jasoncurley1413 You can only be indentured with an employer, Tradewinds is not an employer so they cannot be party to an apprentice contract. The contract needs to be with the company you are working for an being paid by.

    Not bad brother, the only thing is that left wire hand gets in the way of your pliers when you twist. Pull back a little bit on the wire and use your index finger. Remember better mechanics will help you last 30years.

      Hello Jacob, If you are under the age of 18 you are not legally allowed to enter into an apprenticeship program. There is however other "pre-apprenticeship" programs such as the RAP program that allow participants under the age of 18 to get started learning a trade and accumulating hours before they turn 18. click on the following link to the Alberta apprenticeship entrance requirements for more info. tradesecrets.alberta.ca/Sources/pdfs/Entrance_Requirements.pdf

    You ever tried tying with Knipex end cutting pliers. It's what we use here in New Zealand, and other countries too. I might try using your type of pliers to see the difference.

    Hi I am a international students applying for heavy duty equipment technician program in Alberta nait College. WILL I BE ALLOWED TO DO THE APPRENTICESHIP AFTER COMPLETING MY 2 YEAR COURSE on work permit?

    • @aiatplocal7205
      @aiatplocal7205 3 года назад

      Hello Anurag, The Heavy Duty Equipment Technician is a Compulsory trade, this means that anyone who is employed in the field as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician must be a registered apprentice BEFORE they start work. Essentially you need to have an employer and complete the apprenticeship application before you start working. The HET program you are applying for at NAIT needs to be done in conjunction with your apprenticeship program. This means that you need to be registered as an apprentice, THEN apply and attend technical training. The first step is to start the apprenticeship, then attend school. In order to start the apprenticeship you will need an Alberta Employer and you need to be a Permanent resident or Canadian citizen. A work permit does not qualify a worker to start an apprenticeship contract.
