Thank you!!
I don't understand why the firetruck initially stopped at a distance?
Excellent work by the emergency crew at SBH. They had the runway open in under 15 minutes. Curious why the pilot chose to gear up at SBH instead of heading to St. Maarten. Better maintenace facilities there. I saw his left engine smoking but based on the fact that there was no post-crash fire, it looks like a simple engine failure with oil dumping out on the exhaust.
🕶️💀🪦😂😂😂
thanks for the video.
Great capture! May I kindly request your permission to include this clip in my upcoming episode? Full credit will be given in both the video and the description. Thank you.

Bom dia Bonito país..o ideal era vcs terem um zoom na aproximação
I know this
I actually caught a brief glimpse of the landing from St Jean beach. He was coming above typical approach speed with what looked like both smoke and fuel coming out of one or both of the engines. Something pretty serious must have happened, but the pilot clearly has a lot of experience at SBH because he nailed the touchdown zone and kept it on the centerline
Thanks for sharing this info, your insights are always welcomed
He even cleared the runway!
Good job by the pilot, he almost made it to the private ramp.

1:52 if that wall had not been there, that car would have gone down the hill to the flight line.

Let's go! I was so excited when I saw that new Twin Otter first land with the Air Antilles livery.
(1) i thought the helo was having wind problems while trying to land, but then the 2nd helo landed right on the pad with no problems....... (2) a new pilot to St barth perhaps? the drop after the road takes a pretty steady hand, old pilots to this place always make landings look easy.
So many pc-12 tire failures of late. Does anyone know what the wind conditions were? Is it a light winds landing that makes for higher loads on touchdown?
maybe the PC-12 aircraft should be limited to landings from over the water, dhc6 make their landings look so easy.
good response time by emergency crew.

1:36: That was way too close. Should have been a go around.
once again another great video.

wow, helo pilot not seeing what is around him. 2 bodies cannot occupy the same space.
yes, he should have stepped on his left pedal i bit to check
Wow, this gets complicated really fast, definitely multiple parties at fault. Here are just a few of my ideas: We don’t hear any radio transmissions from the first Twin Otter in the departure line (PJ-WIX), meaning ATC must have cleared him to line up and take off just before the video started. Therefore, when ATC tells the helicopter, “three traffic line up in sequence for departure” at 0:09, this is technically correct (the 2 Islanders and then PJ-WII, the Twin Otter involved), but also SUPER UNCLEAR for the helicopter pilot as PJ-WIX, the first Twin Otter, still hasn’t actually departed. This may have caused confusion between ATC and the helicopter about just how many flights were departing before them. Next, PJ-WII, makes a radio call at 1:00 that they are “lining up” behind the second Islander. They never actually say they are taking off. I think there is an unspoken agreement here (which I don’t fully understand) that PJ-WII IS clear to takeoff and follow all the other flights back to St Maarten, almost like they were cleared all at once. But this might not have been understood by the helicopter pilot who thought PJ-WII would line up on the runway, but then let him depart. Someone needs to get ATC here to start actually SAYING “Cleared for takeoff” to avoid blurring the lines between “lining up” and “taking off.”
I believe this is an uncontrolled airport so only traffic info is given, no clearences.
I don't think it helps having a pseudo-tower. He told the chopper at 00:15 that there were THREE aircraft lining up in sequence for departure when it was actually 4. Not only that but the Twin Otter didn't announce anything. He saw the helicopter leave the ground and he started his roll. He should have either waited once he saw the helicopter moving or he should have hit the brakes.
no, the helicopter pilot should have made sure the runway was free before entering, regardless of what was said on the radio.
@@antialt3498 Yeah, you've got a point there, it goes both ways.
I saw this happen from the terminal observation room, definitely a close call. Those helipads seem too close the active runway.
My thoughts exactly
How often do you visit the observation room?
@@rolandsteiger8405 As often as I can when I am on the island, but that's only like twice a year.

ATC needs to be reviewed, every incident at this airport seems to take too long for responders to react.
Wow, flat tire and a helicopter landing, double bonus.
Which tire was it? He landed flat but it didn't look too bad.
The left tire, you can see it wobbling at 2:32
Wow! What a run of bad luck for over a month! What is going on over there?😢
Island Time applies to everyone, even the first responders.
