I love them ,, Spankys voice is fantastic

It's these videos on RUclips that eloquently communicate to people why I just can't tolerate Hip Hop or Rap. I just can't say it's because of "Spanky and the Gang ". No. They have to have the opportunity to experience it too. I'm frequently telling the younger generations: "See?! THIS is why your 'music' means absolutely nothing to me".

I first heard Judy Collins sing it and loved it, but this version leaves hers far behind. This vocal arrangement just blows this 67 year old guy away.

Spanky and Our Gang awesome. Grew up as a kid hearing them on the radio. I'd Like To Get to Know You my favorite song of theirs. Beautiful yet haunting song, and spiritual at a time of uncertainty of the war, young ones being sent off, going off to war wondering if they would come back or not, loved ones seeing them off.

I come back to watch this from time to time...because i love and miss laura nyro and to watch and listen to bette's introduction. I met bette once and she was so genuine and down to earth. Her tribute to Laura is perfect.

Laura's music lives on to this day. A singer, Christine Spero, along with her ensemble, perform gigs of Laura's music in the NYC area. One of Laura's backup singers,whom she called her harmony group, also performs Laura's music with her group. Her name is Diane Garisto.

The Divine Miss M, Bette Midler, (brilliant actress: both drama and comedy; great singer: both funky and Broadway; great comedienne) was appropriately chosen to give the tribute speech for a fellow nonpareil performer, Laura Nyro, (brilliant songwriter, great singer, great instrumentalist).
