Hailing from Manchester, DEADLIFE, a.ka. Ed Hawx, has been producing electronic music since 2012. Originally a drummer, he became inspired by electronic music and the soundtracks he enjoyed, such as Akira Yamaoka’s Silent HIll music, Vangelis’ Blade Runner (Music From The Original Soundtrack) and video games such as Metal Gear Solid and Nobuo Uematsu’s Final Fantasy OST. He is a self-taught producer with a real mastery of his machines and software, and has become one of the most exciting and influential names on the scene driving synthwave forward with his penchant for the cyberpunk, shadowy end of the spectrum that has become known as darksynth.

What a wonderful song, it makes you empathise with the machine spirit!
One would expect these lyrics to pull your soul underground when you're already down, but instead it's had the totally opposite effect on me. I , like many others, can relate to this word for word!! This is timeless, wait and see!
I dunno why but this song always makes me think of Robo from Chrono Trigger exploring the desolate future, finding the fractured remains of humanity and trying to figure out why he is self aware, then finally reuniting with his brothers, only for them to destroy him for being "obsolete."

DEADLIFE is the man. For me in real life, with the problems I have, he is a friend to my ears.. even with a sad song like this, he gives me strength.
DEADLIFE is indeed the dude. Just listening to all his stuff one can tell how much XP the guy has and why he is such a (not even gonna say synthwave) master at his craft, which is very much a craft he ownsm created and perfected himself.

As a 33 year old who has literally had to physically put myself back together (spinal fusion, years of physio/rehab/weights) and now finds myself full of regret for the lost time of my teens and twenties, full of regret for how I allowed my body to get so damaged and how I let my mind stay so compromised for so long... What a smack right in the feels this song is.
At least you have a good excuse for missing those years of your life. I’m 36 and all I do is work because I have no desire to do anything else. I know my brain is fucked up and there is nothing I can do about it. I don’t even wish I was normal anymore. I just know I’m going to work until the day I die and experience minimal joy.
