Welcome to my channel! I'm a 29 year old contract pilot which means I fly several different airplanes for owners. My goal for this channel is to showcase a viable avenue for people to make a living in aviation. I hope you enjoy!
Landing the Cirrus Vision Jet on a short runway!
3,500' runway in the Cirrus Vision Jet! Ride along as we reposition to a very short runway, showcasing the ability of the vision jet to operate in and out of short runways. This particular runway is 3,500' long and 60' wide. Landing with a small crosswind adds to the challenge of this already tight environment!

it's not recommended to do checklist items during taxi
Please forgive me as I’m just a MSFS vision pilot 😂 What approach speed is typically recommended? Do you usually use speed bugs? I understand the crosswind was strong but seeing sub 90kts concerned me! Great landing and video. 🎉
It's just a balloon with an angry space heater. There is huge potential for making personal jets very inexpensive. It's mainly a racket. Priced by what they can get away with and engine makers are among the most guilty. Especially with single piece composite fuselage it's a very simple construction and you can't make composite thin enough that it can't handle pressurization. Only the windows and doors are slight challenges but even the plastic windows don't have to be very thick to hold the significant pressure. A fiberglass hot tub with complex shape, pipes, pumps, nozzles, lights, controls etc retails for 2500$. Including transport and profits for stores. And they can't make that balloon and car turbo for less than 3million? Eclipse initially targeted a retail price of 500k for the entire plane. Today Prat&Whiney wants a cool million just for the engines, each. And they are tiny.
@@DanFrederiksen with all your knowledge it sounds like you’re the guy to bring a super cheap jet to market. Look forward to seeing it soon.
@@jetpropjustin1 I get that a lot but I have too much insight to commit a lifetime effort to each. I could do an Elon Musk style spawning of many endeavors but it would be nice if the world wasn't entirely obtuse as well. If 2 men didn't have to save the world despite the rest of you.
@@DanFrederiksen I’m honored you at least stopped by and blessed us with your presence.
who let u fly that jet? dam look ac must be bussin in there and look at the leather seats OMG
Nicely done! Have you faced some ice condition during the flight with Jetprop ?
@@Capt_Ferreira thanks! Yes I definitely have
Let me give you that 1000th subscriber. 👍
@@MarcusVowell thank you! The world is a better place because of people like you.
Looked to me undershooting
A couple of issues related to safe operations: 1. The oil was BELOW the ADD OIL line which Williams International would tell you is UNSAFE. 2. You were conducting the BEFORE TAXI checklist while taxiing. That is very UNSAFE! 3. You conducted the BEFORE TAKEOFF checklist while taxiing. Very UNSAFE! I hope you don't do any of these things during your recurrent check ride, because you would fail the ride. Take it from a former airline Director of Safety.
Thanks for the comment, it’s not my intent to produce unsafe content. The engine oil was a good bit above the add line, that is something we will not take off with if it’s below the add line.
I was just thinking the exact same thing.
Wow incredible how familiar it feels compare to my Microsoft Flight Simulator 😀👍🏼
This is my dream plane and my favorite plane
Hopefully you get to fly one someday!
butter landing!
That is not shortway 1600 ft.
Send me a video of you landing your jet on a 1600’ runway
@@jetpropjustin1 i dont have airplane,,, I feel impossible less 1600' shortway i saw specf lists say cirrus company requires 1728' longway
i was never into the money thing, but this looks fun
i thought this was the flight simulator at first
In your departure briefing before TO you are talking about "caps available?" after TO, what does that mean?
Caps is the cirrus airframe parachute system. This can be deployed as low as 600 feet agl and the whole airplane will glide to the ground under the parachute.
Nice and clear video!
Thank you for the comment!
Awesome video. Thanks for showing how to make a TOD with the g3000 never knew you could do that
Sure thing! It’s even easier on the new vision jet models, but definitely a handy tool to have.
What a gorgeous aircraft. Looks more like a REALLY nice car inside.
Cirrus has tried to make the flying experience a extension of your car.
Awesome video. I enjoyed watching it.
Thank you for watching!
I live in Duluth, MN and I used to work for Cirrus Design back then. I have been interviewing for two positions there recently as a Designer. One at the new Cirrus Innovation Center. I am so hoping to get back in this company!
I hope you are able to get in! They would be a great company to work for.
Nice video Justin, keep it up please, very inspiring, I am planning for PPL, and I am not rich 🤣
Thank you for watching!

2:25, sure makes me nervous where to chooses rest his hand.
Huh?
@@jetpropjustin1 might be bc of the gear knob being so close to the button being pressed
That SEEYA from tower 🏆
We live for a good see ya! 👌🏼
The Kia of private jets
This is a KIA i'd own:)
Short field, expedited approach, ahead of you; not enough space. What next?.
Runway incursion on final and one mile. What will vision jet do?
Love the jet. Could use some telemetry in the video
Thanks for watching!
USA is amazing, look that airport, better conditions then 99% of our biggest airports in Brazil! You dont turn off the Pitot Heat after landing? it has a 5 minutes in ground limit, right? This is my fav plane in teh FS2020!
We do have a great aviation system! I normally turn them off as I clear the runway but since it was so close of a taxi I waited this time. You are correct on the limitation though!
@@jetpropjustin1Thank you for reply! Ill be following the channel!
not departure calling you 5EP

Great video; thanks for sharing. One comment, the radio volume was much louder than your voice sometimes I couldn't tell what you were explaining.
Thank you for the feedback! Sounds like I need to dial in my audio editing:)
Love the videos! May I ask how you got into this profession, did you instruct? Have a good weekend!
Thank you for the comment! I didn’t instruct, I was able to get into a bonanza at fairly low time and that experience helped me get into this airplane!
@@jetpropjustin1 Awesome man! Big inspiration! Keep up the great content!
Wow......near barber pole at 190KIAS and M.525 @ FL310, lol!
That’s where she’s happy!
Just found your channel. Super awesome content. The only question I have is, can this plane fly in bad weather like my cessna 150(5523G)?😂
Thanks fellow celebrity! I’ve seen what your 150 can do and I’m not sure my airplanes are up for it:)
what a beautiful video ... fill of information and excitement nice landing ... !! All The Best !!! fist time I see this
My CSS must be kicking in today. I never saw the RW till almost TD! I couldn't read your approach speed, it looked really slow?? I've never seen or even been around a 'Vision Jet'. That was a great landing if you got off at the 1/2! It looked like it floated a bit on you? Nice job!! 8) --gary
Thank you! Approach speed is pretty slow in these, 95 knots on final is a pretty standard speed. Thanks for watching
I love your videos man just watch what you got keep it up good stuff
Thank you for the kind words!
Nicely done, very smooth landing, difficult to tell when you actually touched down, what is the stall speed in that configuration , I didn't hear a stall horn, looked like high 60 low 70 kt when wheels touched, so smooth hard to tell👍🏽, ?? Thx
The hat is a wonderful little piece of irony. Nicely done on the video though. I would concur with another commenter that the intro/outro music levels could be lowered in your next mix. Fly Pilatus!
I can’t afford the cirrus hat lol thanks for the feedback and hopefully we have some pilatus videos coming to the channel after awhile:)
@@jetpropjustin1 I understand. Those Cirrus CAPS get expensive.
Very nice landing! At first I thought wait is he gonna land on a grass strip! Just out of curiosity what are your speeds for Darwin, base, and final? I’ve always been curious about the fence for a vision jet. Thanks for sharing, nice video!
Thank you! Ref speed is about 85 knots. 95 knots is a good final approach speed.
Procedure if low power enters final ahead of of you,at the fence ?
Awesome video. The music is too loud.
Thanks for the feedback
Awesome quality
Thank you!
Always enjoy watching SF50 videos. Just a few question: Why don't you use AT and FLC on your climb rather than VS? I normally ARM the TOGA, HDG, ALT, FLC and AT prior to takeoff and then at 500 AGL, hit AP. I also like to disconnect FD on landing.
I fly G1’s as well so I guess just force of habit I don’t use the AT that much. You have to watch it closer but on climb out I prefer VS as you can get a smoother climb profile. Technique I guess.
what is useful load at full fuel?
It’s not very much! But we rarely fly it full fuel
I'm sorry bro but your videos lack entertainment. You could at least talk more. Instead of this awkward silence when we can't even hear the airplane
I’ll do some hand stands for you next time 🤙🏻
Very nice !
Thank you!
Got my private license @ KPIE in 1984 (Delco15). It was the best day of my life.
Great flying, great comms and great video. Never had the opportunity to fly one (yet) but the Vision Jet seems like such a gem :))
Thank you for the kind words! Hopefully you get to fly one soon.
Could’ve swore, he said echo papa
I think he probably did.
Oh yea nice flight my man
Thank you!
