This was known as tale of the African tides from National Geographic. Except it was a woman narrating this.

A friend of mine (long since past) was interviewed at the funeral, supposedly a billion people saw him call her a classy ole broad. I saw a print article, hoped to see a live feed of him; but didn't catch it here unless I missed it.
