Also, the flashbacks are offering nothing of substance. No new information we don’t already know. No new context. Nothing clever. Just cool art. We are 3 issues into a 5 issue story and I can’t even tell who the antagonist even is? What is the resistance even fighting for and why? Why still even live in the sewers if the foot clan was defeated 10 years ago? April and Casey are supposed to be in charge yet they hide in the turtle lair instead of leading the resistance? Isn’t this a post apocalyptic future dystopia? Are we supposed to believe there are just regular citizens in the city who watch Amanda Connor on the news each evening? Are the multiple gangs overrunning the city the ones who watch her news show? And is Amanda Connor really this dumb? “Oh I’ve heard of turtle men, are you those turtle men?” “No, we’re different turtle men, but some of us are girls..” What does this exchange even add to the story?

Not satisfied with this at all. There is no story here. It’s just things happening. But like what is the story they are telling? I had higher hopes for this series and I wanted to like this story but I’ve really lost interest.

I agree, this movie is so dumb. I hate the idea of the Devil showing atrocities made by humans and the Spirit of Mankind saying “yeah but X person invented Y thing so it evens out” 🙃🙃🙃🙃

The "SCARIEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!" online trend both helped and hurt this movie so much. Most people never would've heard of it without the youtube videos, but it also killed any chance for people to have a genuine first experience.

Really enjoyed this comic review! One thing that I haven't been able to figure out is since cathon escaped wanda at the end of the story is whether or not the true dark hold is still a part of her soul. And if so, is it possibe for her to repossess cathon as easily the first time she did when wanda does end up finding him?

I feel like the masks are supposed to somehow help them control their powers? But that’s never explained. And it also doesn’t make any sense chronologically. It looks like UNO’s mask is supposed to change with his apparent camouflage power, or maybe help him harness that power? And Yi mask looks like it is designed to help her harness her electricity powers which no one knows about until the end of this issue? And what identity are they even trying to hide with these masks? Who would even be like, oh you must be different giant turtles than the ones we saw fighting on the street last night?

I'd love a see an 80's playbook horror movie filmed in todays times.

The book is basically an episode of Dexter. It was a pretty good story but the writer failed to show why the main character is a psychopath. I also found the ending to be a little too easily wrapped up. There is no hero in this story only villains which is disappointing. Not my book of the year but an entertaining mystery for the most part.

It’s all about the writing and the story. That’s it. Any character can make for good or lousy entertainment. Just give us that badass writing and stop following trends.
