      This mower was really good for me when I was solo. I could tackle just about any yard. Extremely efficient switching from discharge, mulch or bag mode. I’m so glad someone like you will utilize its versatility. The action footage at the of the video is that vacant lot I told you about. Nice and open area to get a good feel how the mower handles.

    Great video. I was able to follow along and replace my transmission in about 2 hours going very methodically and rewinding many times. You made the process as simple as it can possibly be. In particular, strapping the mower the way you suggest was perfect. I don’t have a sturdy shelf in garage but a nearby tree did the trick. Thank you very much.

    I have had several issues on my 2016 Toro 30 in TimeMaster. It NEVER starts hot. There was a recall to change the crummy paper fuel filter, but i solved that design flaw, where the fuel feed is only 1/2 in drop from the tank outlet to Briggs 120000 series engine carb. I lashed on my Honda GCV190 Tank and a nice long hose, with a Disc filter and Shutoff valve from Home Depot. The Briggs recall is to install a metal HEAT SHIELD between the cyl head and float bowl, to fix hot restarting. I often do better than that, just get some silver foil faced R-MAX foam insulation, maybe cut 3x5in,, smash a recess to fit behind the float bowl with a small hammer, and shove it in place above the black plastic belt guard cover. surfaces, that worked for a few years,then needed to cool things down with Starting fluid or Gumout to restart hot. I then replaced the carbs several times with the inexpensive ones on Amazon. Worked a little better than Briggs OEM. FINALLY, I did replace the Magneto coil and shutoff switch, but yesterday PROVED THE NEW ONE IS INTERMITTENT. Got an adjustable Spark Tester, set for 10KV gap or larger - NO OUTPUT!!!!!!!!!!! Then I took the old one, sanded the pole pieces and TAPED the entire HV lead with 3M Electrical tape, and split the plastic insulator sleeve from my new Spark Tester, covering the CHAFED section where the muffler heatshield abradedi it. BINGO, it finally started! I then checked the Compression cold, but forgot to open the throttle plate - it read almost 30lbs. We also replaced the crummy HEAD GASKET again, with the 2nd gasket in the $42 Amazon kit, which HAS A NICE METAL fire ring, but is for the 223CC Upgraded engine all the Yard Service guys pay $500 new, to finally fix the underpowered temperamental 190. I found the old gasket BLEW OUT near the Exhaust side, a second time, vapor from all my Starting Fluid was coming out. Another telltale sign was the 4 head bolts were NOT TIGHT. I should have retourqued to the 125 in-lbs spec AGAIN after a month. Since 70lbs seems to be the spec for these 190CC motors, I WILL be buying a new Piston, Rings, and Wrist pin set, and the 2 different length Rod bolts to raise the crummy 30lbs that is causing stalling issues. And my friend set the VALVE clearances ay 0.006in, AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW thicker gasket. It starts if I put the choke rod in, but soon I fave to remove it, and flip the choke spring 180 degrees over, to the main governor spring post, r it will bog down too rich! When I get anther $500 saved up, I am going to Toro Menders in ATL to buy a replacement 223CC engine, and a new DECK for another $100. Final note, there is a Hi Lift Blade kit, including a new front V shaped shield that bolts in with the front wheels assy - critically IMPORTANT, IT USED TO just fill the chute with grass. ------------- for the past 8 years it will FILL the bag with even wet grass- My thoughts, nothing else is safe on my sloped back yard, and at 150lbs for me, I can easily handle this 135lb mower. Just skip the $200 more Electric Start option, because it will be clunkier to use there. Just my thoughts after 8 years of Time Master troubles. And I replaced many broken cables, worn bearings, and belts Fyi, Hilary in GA

    • @ihrescue
      @ihrescue Месяц назад

      @@BillyGoatLawnService I imagine a look - see to find out what is failing could lead a solution. I haven't looked into my replaced transmission yet. With the noise mine was making there has to be some evidence of what went wrong. Now a days with 3d printers and common access to CNC mills you may be able to come up with a design to replace parts. Heck there might be a new line of business for you. Smart that you saved the old transmissions. The fact that the transmission and shaft appears to be in good shape may be an indicator that failure wasn't catastrophic so it might just be a single part failure. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks so much for the great review. I have the 48 inch version and i love it (yes, it has the same 15hp motor). I will keep an eye out for the wheel axle issue. Also, I am VERY interested in your aerator setup. That is EXACTLY something I've been thinking about. If you have time, please let me know where you bought the parts for the tow hitch and also the aerator. Was it difficult to cut it down to 24in wide? Use a grinder? I am only using the hustler for my own residential property. I realize these hydros weren't meant for pulling any heavy loads, but once a year aerating (when I'll only be putting about 20-25 hrs a season on them) might be ok. Lastly, do you have a video of you aerating with it? Thanks Biily!

    • @BillyGoatLawnService
      @BillyGoatLawnService Месяц назад

      @@Govnor2a Thanks for commenting! Appreciate the confirmation on the 48 inch having the 15HP engine. I bought the universal hitch from amazon and the unistrut brackets from Home Depot. As far as the aerator, it was originally 40 inches and I cut 8 inches off each side with a sawzall. Relatively easy if you are mechanically inclined. Drill the new holes and reassemble without using the end tine assemblies. We are expecting some rain this coming week. I’m anxious to actually aerate to see if it works being towed by the surfer pro. I will certainly film the results.

It was so hot and dry, I was even afraid to do extras like trim bushes and shrubs. So glad fall is coming, hopefully we can regroup once we get into leaf cleanups. The drive tensioner coil has broken twice, but once you know how to fix it, and you keep a spare coil in the truck, it’s no big deal. It’s a simple mower. Have to do this on my original. Before doing it I wanted to turn to the man himself to make sure. Can you just replace the bearings on the side? I’m getting a grinding noise when pushing it when it’s off and when it’s running and you first push the bar, a quick squeal. What do you think bill??

    • @BillyGoatLawnService
      @BillyGoatLawnService Месяц назад

      The grinding noise is actually the both rear wheel drive gears worn out. A new set of wheels should stop or at least lessen the grinding. From my experience, the quick sequel is coming from the transmission not the drive belt. Not really a big deal if you still have good traction.

    If you take the grease seal off the bearing and pack it with some good grease then put the seal back on it will last much longer. I never trust the factory lube.

      @BillyGoatLawnService Месяц назад

      Thanks for commenting! Actually I have been repacking the bearings every 100 hours of use it really prolongs the life of the bearing. I’m surprised what little grease they use at the factory.

    I would love this mower to reduce push mowing in backyards. Edging close to fences and flower beds is going to be hard with this since the deck doesn't really extend past the wheels. Would like to see a slightly larger deck between this and the 48 so it can still get inside gates

    • @sociopathmercenary
      @sociopathmercenary Месяц назад

      The more I look at the specs, the more I think I'd be better off with a Bad Boy Revolt SD. Only about $1,000 more but you get a bigger engine Better hydros More heavy duty construction 6.5 gallon fuel tank

      @BillyGoatLawnService Месяц назад

      Thanks for commenting! For its compact size, this mower is certainly good to maneuver in tight spaces. I have alot of small gate yards but the 48 is just is good it not slightly better having a larger deck with wider wheels.

    Anyone have trouble with this machine not cutting well?? I have the 48inch and even with new blades, I sometimes have to go over a lawn TWICE because it does not cut all the grass correctly. Am I missing something? Or should I just sharpen the blades mort often? IT only has 19HP.

    Well you can tell you keep your equipment in great shape ✔️ I've always like the Timemaster but still haven't pulled the trigger I track them on FB all the time going for around $700. I like that blade clutch feature comes in handy my Husqvarna has same thing👍🏾

      As always Renaldo, appreciate you supporting the channel. Just keep in mind, if you ever get a timemaster, there will be a love-hate relationship with this mower. I plan on getting back to making more videos this fall. This past summer was way too hot, just wasn’t motivated to film much in those 100 degree days.

    Very informative and thanks for taking the time for the review. I have/had the 33" Cub cadet cc760es with 420cc engine which got me into small gates until I hit a root and destroyed a spindle and also internal clicking in the engine. I'm now using the DR SP30" and love the one point lever height adjustment and it really packs it into the bagger.
