ok i just realized that i was accessing the page via IP address instead of DNS name. using a DNS name, the cert is good. why won't it work with just the IP?

When renewing the hosts - this configuration will only use the DNS name. Typically using DNS name is best practice - but I'm sure there would be away to include the IP address in the certificate ESXi host certificate if you wanted to - just not sure of that process. I guess it would come down to the template that the VMCA uses to issue certs to the hosts.

How did you go with this in the end? My video is mainly to show how to configure site-to-site within a lab environment to simulator multi-site environments. Thanks for the info. I must admit I didn't have any issues with my builds (lab or in production) - but perhaps the latest Ubuntu builds have the firewall enabled by default. I'll definitely keep an eye out for this in future builds that I do! Thanks again for the tip.

Hey - I'm not too sure which exe you might be referring to. HPE provide an OVA/OVF file for installation into vSphere/VMware Workstation. If you have access to the HPE portal - try this link myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/product-details/StoreVirtualSW_12.7/12.7/sw_free. See if you can determine which file you require.

Fortunately they must have corrected it and I now have what I was looking for, I was able to download all the packages. @@labbingit I figured it out, the issue was that in the second portion of the script I put equal signs instead of astricks, once I changed that it worked flawlessly. :)
