Thank you for this video - incredible. I lived on Ashley Road for years, and went to the art college and none of us ever knew about these tunnels! You are very brave going in alone ! Great video - very interesting. You know the bit where you said, there was a boxed in bit, and it came out above? Was there another doorway blocked in there underneath the higher bit?

its always sad to see a cinema close down but it's also almost like a time capsule

I remember going there 10 years ago and photographed it with a film camera for college - me and my friend managed to go upstairs (the stairs were also falling apart, even then) and there was still over 3/4 of the roof left... - we went here before heading to west park asylum when it was still standing. It's a shame to see there's nothing left here anymore...

The grotto was a old house built in the 1700’s and it was owned by the fanes for hundreds of years, there is a local story about lady fane who fell in the well in the cellar and she is said to still haunt the house saying “help me” it was derelict in the late 1970’s but used as offices from 1998 to 2008. Again its sat waiting for a owner, though there are rumors going round that next year they are going to turn it into a hotel! :)

Oh why, don't they demolish it, whilst they fight over the planning permission issues. It's a blight on the landscape.

The East exit goes to denton house. There flats now. The denton house as a secret entrance. It might be blocked now in that house

I've just looked up the ratings for that pub- (for when it was open, obviously), and someone back in 2008 branded it "the scum of all scum".

Hi when the construction company took over the barracks they inherited the tunnels and now have a duty of care, Yes your correct the tunnels are sealed all entrances
