Hi Miss America pageant lovers.
My name is Jeff Michaels and I am the president, creator and owner of musicalcreations.com. Over the past 35 years, I have recorded, distributed and sold backing (karaoke) tracks to the public (along with those from various other manufacturers around the globe). I specialize in editing and changing the key of tracks to fit the time limit and vocal ranges of those competing in competitions. During my professional career, I also was an on-site musical director of various Miss America state pageants from 1985-2013. This website contains ALL of the 50+ mostly personally recorded videos of these complete shows I still had in storage (converted from VHS & DVD-mostly televised). Although there are quality issues on some older ones (they were in the attic too long), I hope you enjoy them for what they offer. Thank you for the support over the years.

Musical Creations 1989 promotional video
Wow, this is old! Thought it would be fun to show video work we did in '89. I has portions of video from the NC 1989 pageant that I always liked. (I lost the full video)

So I just watched this for the first time…I would have switched the 1st runner up and winner. The rest of the top 5 I didn’t have making top 5 at all.
That baton twirler would have been a front runner for a preliminary talent at Miss America! From beginning to end she was non stop!!

ahh the first number with the appalatian style singing and dancing as well as clogging its and older style looking dance but the footwork is faster and more fluid and continuous then the usual tap dance and has more of the trick footwork that old style tapping had that you dont see as much of anymore, and the tallent I can say after watching several old videos of miss america and pagents from the carolinas they have some of the best dancers espcially percussive like tapping and clogging since they got that tradition in the contryside areas even to this day, and that baton routine was prob one of the best I have ever seen, but its not as common anymore, like much of the traditions of not soo long ago that are classic and americana are getting rarer, I miss the times from not so long back when you didn't have the nonsense going on like we do today in the culture, you still had ladies that were not afraid to show a little leg and clothing still left a bit more to the imagination, and compeating in pagents or being able to perform was a lauded thing sure it had its detractors but people appreciated and enjoyed it, and it was a laudable thing in most eyes to win miss america or the like, and tallent shows made people household names, that and we still knew what it ment to be an american, we had backbone to us, and even at this point much of the stuff the ladies were wearing was still made here by our own people and usa made could be found for a resionable price unlike today but the girls from the carolinas hardly ever dissappoint when it comes to talent in music and dancing in these shows they are soo good its a joy to watch.
I never understood the meaning of the phrase "Mississippi is last in everything" - until I watched this video. Despite being one of the most homophobic states, it's pretty clear that a gay guy came up with the Wizard of Oz/The Wiz/Wicked theme for the whole pageant - talk about CAMPY! Given this is Mississippi, they should've gone with The Great American Trailer Park Musical.
I sure recall kicking down those steps in those heels
Do you have the 1996 pageant at all?
mmm ah the classic musical numbers so nice like comfort food, and loved the costumes for the tallent of contestent 1 and 7 also the carolinas always did have some the best dancers especially with the tap and clogging tradtion I have seen on old videos of miss america and so on.
nitaaaaa
Hello. Do you have a 1970-1980 Miss International film or VHS?
Thank you,for posting this
Patricia Southall went on to win Miss Virginia usa 1994 and was 1srt runner-up at Miss Usa pageant
No there’s nothing weird or hokey about young women dancing around with choreography to im every woman…while wearing a business suit! Hahahahaha
I honestly thought Kelly Trogdon would have gotten in the top five. She did come back two years later and grabbed the title.
This was the good old days!!!
yea I miss it, back when it was still considered a good thing to win a scholarship or beauty pagent that showed the whole lady that had some brains beauty and poise on the way to be miss america who most often is looked up to as a role model or and ideal young american lady and someone that stands for something more then just herself, Our Miss America, and before all the political nonsense and inclusion of men that think their women, at least miss america on the national is still holding the line for natural born ladies and has the talent portion, sure the swimsuite could be a point of contention but at least a gown talent of some sort and a good interview someoe with brains creativy and poise. and the carolinas and the virginias had many good talents especially in the ones that did traditional american music or dance in folk country or clogging and tap, and the more dynamic dance styles that drew from the more improvizational styles then today that is pure technique though looks cleaner, also I loved the shiney costuming it accented the performers back then and today, as well as when stuff they wore was still made here for the most part till just before pandemic.
Cullen fell on some hard times. ruclips.net/video/09AW7s5TkOo/видео.html
Mallory did a great job in the choreography ~
Anthony Herrera(1944 - 2011). He was a very talented actor. He was best known for playing the villainous James Stenbeck on the soap opera, "As The World Turns," one of the most evil soap opera characters of all time. He was also the father of actress Gaby Hoffmann. However, he was not in her life much and whenever he was with her, they didn't get along. But you can definitely see the resemblance between the 2 of them. He was a survivor of lymphoma. In 2001, he received a stem cell transplant that put his lymphoma in remission and he spent a lot of time funding stem cell research. However, in 2011, it returned and he passed away. When Gaby heard about it, she had mixed feelings about his passing.
Ms. Fairweather.
I was there that night Kimberly won! She was amazing 🤩 so beautiful in every way.
1:36:14 she waved the best. She looks like a cool chick.😎
I don’t know if this is accurate but Catherine Galasso from Hamden the winner in 1988.
Can't get over how many people on this video alone could sing and dance up a storm.
The right woman won, she was flawless all night. As a Miss USA fan, I instantly picked her. She could have won Miss USA back in the 90s!
Did Bianca Gibson ever return? She was outstanding and beautiful contestant!
I thought the state of Ohio was just loaded with football talent. I'm impressed with all that great singing and dancing. Some people think that performing is not real work. Boy are they wrong.
It was very hard work but I loved it so much. I'm one of the dancers. We practiced 5 days a week for 1 performance rested on Sunday's. Mr Wayne Carpenter was our instructor. GOD bless him. I'm dancing on the stars and the third row coming down the steps, middle left. Miss those days

Is it just me or does Cullen favors Miss America 2005 Deidra Downs?
OMG yes. When I saw Cullen's picture in the news earlier this week about her battle with addiction I thought they were talking about Deidre. Same piercing blue eyes.

Wow! Catherine Carter was a serious beauty!

The only thing I see wrong with the pageant is how many times they are allowed to compete. I have seen many of the same girls in it year after year. Should there not be a limit?
There is a limit. You age out at 24 in those days
They had some great talents. The gowns not so much. I would have picked the girl who sang “with one look”. That voice was perfection. Would have done great at Miss America.
Yesssss, go uncle!!!
Missy is my fave ms ms ever and love another of them. She should have won already. That way Lisa Stewart wins this year. She was in ms TN twice and was my pic both years. She improved each time she entered
One of the most embarrassing things you can have happen is tripping or falling ON STAGE.
If Cullen had won this year, she would most likely have also won Miss America.
1:06:07 Whoops, a mistake Cullen.
Is there anyway you could upload Miss MS 2002-2004? I was a senior dancer those years and would love to see them!! Thanks-Ashley (Beeland) Hardcastle

Does anyone have the 2001 recording?
Missy should have won Miss America
It still baffles me that Becky didn’t make top 5 at Miss America. She had an amazing talent in Atlantic City and a great platform.
