Here are some of my favorite videos taken during operation sessions, or just road testing my custom HO diesels projects.
I am big fan of the older brass models which I like to customize to their modern era state with all the new safety and environmental required devices and signals.
Most decoders I use are Loksound, or TCS Dieselsound. Modeling year is 2014 for the bulk of my models.
Along with kitbashing brass models, I also enjoy weathering, including graffiti reproductions. Railfanning also gets me the inspiration and database of pictures and videos.
Enjoy the ride! Ironstef70

What a sweet share, some great looking models here our friend! (Dave).
Thanks, glad you enjoy!
I couldn't believe it when I saw an old Penn Central box car (with the logo intact) traveling on a Canadian Pacific railroad line behind my home. I assume it was acquired during the bankruptcy (Conrail) proceeding in the 1970s and is still being used.
Where did you get the Clarke Transport container??
Checked online: looks like those are Rapido.
part # 402021 : sold out
Finally, realistic trains with graffiti
I am taking this as a great compliment. Check for DansRailroad2011 also. He does great stuff and sells some.
Wow..great layout.
thanks great layout
I have very little credit for the layout but thank you.
Great share very cool scenery Thanks for sharing have a great rest of your day
You are very welcome.
I find it interesting that you still see the occasional Penn Central boxcar/hopper car although the company went bankrupt back in the 1970s. I would guess their rolling stock was sold off at action but some of it hasn't been rebranded and is still in service
The PC reporting marks are probably still assign to a railroad company either CSX, NS or possibly CONRAIL Consolidated. Some company has to be responsible for maintenance work and collecting per dime charges!
fantastic layout
Its in Sorel, Quebec, Canada
Tres beaux video!
Merci! Il y en aura d'autres...👍
Nice lay out 😊😊😊
Thanks. And huge, believe me.
Votre CN test Track magnifique machine bravo!
Merci beaucoup. C'est un Van Hobbies en brass mais avec beaucoup de travail custom.
thanks great video
Incredible layout, rolling stock and locos. Excellent photography.
Always great to see enthousiasts who appreciate the work. Thank you!
The graffiti is superbe! 😮
Thanks! it sure adds to realism
Great video!
Nice video! I rail fan in Nebraska, subbed up #440 👍
Thanks!, well except at 9:48
👍 👍 👍
Great weathering and graffiti!
Thanks. Yes, hours of fun!
Magnificent catches of the model trains coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work, my friend, liked and subscribed, Greetings from Portugal.
Mucho gracias. I appreciate the kind words.
@@ironstef7071 it was my pleasure, mate.
@@ironstef7071 the trains in your country are amazing.
@@ironstef7071 i have some cool videos of the model trains too.
@@ironstef7071 it would be nice to have you as my new subscriber.
Very nice video
Nice setup!
Wow awesome layout is this a club layout? Great share new here looking forward to more content great video
Indeed, it is called BV Rail, and located in Quebec City, Canada
Looks great!! Very cool 😎
Nice weathering
Suggestion: pick a focal point or use a tripod stand. Some viewers might be sensitive to camera movement and can cause them to get sick. All-in-all a very cool video and capture!
You gotta love those hi cube boxcars!! I got 6 from shadow prairie coming in two weeks I can’t wait!!!
Yes, they look great. I would need to sell a few before placing an order :)
@@ironstef7071 I’ve had them on pre order for a year and half and been quietly waiting for them
Some cars were empty, but that's normal.
Indeed, freight trains cannot always be loaded.
Great video. I subscribed to your channel as well!
Awesome catch
At timeline 0:52, the detail is amazing. I was watching the train but noticed in the background the "yard"? which looks like a dirt yard with ruts going around the building just as in real life. It appears to me to be just after rain but after traffic has gone through that area. You have done a great job with the little details on your setup. BTW the graffiti on some of the cars is also real-world authentic. Pat on the back to you.
BTW the graffiti is so real world. Looks great.
Yes the building in fact is a garage/machine shop. I am not personally the builder for the scenery but I will let our guys know about the kind words.
About the graffitis, yes, Most oft those are my rolling stock and custom models. I usually duplicate cars I witness in real life. I usually make videos of the manifests as close as I can be, then cut and paste pictures of specific models I wish to duplicate. I usually hand paint the real graffitis, and also the author's tagged avatars/signature in respect to their artwork, then the weathering is made using different techniques using both acrylic and oil paints, then also powders. I sometimes just sit and stare at my cars on my home layout ad I admire the details of the graffitis, not because of my work (all I do is duplicating artwork), but being fascinated by the time it took in real life, political or social message, or meaning, wondering about their motivation... My favorite one is "7SEAS" with the skulls creeping away, probably referring to these times when pirates and buccaneers were sailing across the globe, a reminder of a forgotten era. Was that inspired by that song? ruclips.net/video/q4ZKbYXDZtk/видео.html It certainly could have inspired me if I had that talent....
Really enjoyed that, thanks for sharing!
Cool 😎
Nice locomotives. I finally got my GP40-2W in KCS (N scale). Love the wide noses on Canadian Railroads. Great video. Awesome layout. I love the detail of the wrecked tank car. WOW. Awesome job 👍
Thanks, the scrap tank car was a one evening project as it was missing parts which I did not felt like searching/rebuilding. The switch car next to it was much more time consuming with the scratch built brass A frame.
Really nice layout, I like your cn sd40/2
It is our RR club's: BVRail. I sure am lucky to be able to operate there. We've put many hours in the building, and counting!
Man I’ve been looking for an LDRR CF7 for half a year
They belong to a fellow member. One unit is DDC/sound, as the other is DCC only.
Love those Cape Breton &cnsr locos!!! Also I would like to add that I love the fascia!!!
Fantastic dam scene!
Sehr tolle Anlage 👍🙋♂️ Gruß vom Michel
Would love to run my trails on this layout!
.
Beautiful GP35 slug unit!
thaz freakin' cool..!! first time I've seen anything like this in model railroading. 👍👍👍
O meu vai ser bem assim
Nice slug model!
Thanks. Scratchbuild project: brass/steel/diecast metal. One Athearn motor (one flywheel only) and Digitrax 126 chip, no sound of course.
See my Flick'r albums for the build (Ironstef70)
Thanks gentlemen. I am currently missing the hobby much due to increased professional work load, but I will resume someday. I am looking forward to more projects as these (brass works and weathering). The center beam car was witnessed in my neighborhood, and I then found a suitable brass car to do the project. I usually accumulate tons of pictures in my folders and as I happen to notice a potential brass model as a candidate, I then move on to modifications, custom paint and decals, weathering and so on. I then enjoy doing the pictures and videos and show comparison between the real and the model. I always thought that the best comment a modeler can get is when people are confused by pictures of the real and the scale model as they can hardly see the difference :)
Love the zebra unit, great video!!!
Does the 120 stop at Edmundson all the time? or does it just pass through?
I believe it stops for crew change (which I noticed twice as I was railfanning around there), but not being a CN worker, I cannot totally confirm.
An amazing custom piece! Hope you’ve been well during the apocalypse. I’ve added some CN equipment to my O scale collection, which is so nice. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks CY. I am being busy on other types of projects nowadays (greenhouse, and metal roof) so I am being slow in hobby stuff. But I will resume this fall for sure. Lots of stuff on the workbench. I wish to finish up the 1:50 motorized cranes before moving forward with more HO stuff. To be continued...
@@ironstef7071 So great to hear from you and those sound like awesome projects! My girlfriend would love the greenhouse as she’s totally into plants. I’m even trying my hand at a couple of tomato and pepper plants. 😹 Look forward to seeing your progress on the remote control crane. With some luck you’ll be able to use it to pour champagne at New Year’s. Take care and please don’t get too much of a radioactive tan working on the roof. 😹
