Sara's First Bow Hunting Season
Follow along with Sara and me as she attempts to get a shootable deer in crossbow range. Though it did not happen, I managed to get some wildlife footage. Next season we will try again.

Love this....❤
Watching him trying to start his chainsaw a few times and making that awful noise makes me glad that In bought an EGO battery-powered chainsaw. I kept my old Jonsered gas-powered chainsaw for when I need to free up a pinched bar. I've harvested trees for firewood in snow-covered terrain way in the past, had some near accidents and wondered why I didn't clear the snow and other debris from around the work spot. I must do that because at 81 years of age, my balance ain't what it used to be.
Cordless stuff has came as long ways in the last ten years. Pretty amazing actually. I don't see the timber fallers ever using electric saws. It would just not seem right.
Big welcome off gridder
Down here in WV I got a buck that keeps scraping my dang cedar trees in my yard! 😡
@@Matthewseven13 I'd take care of that for you if I was closer.
That's the only squash I like. It's not watery. It has the consistency of a potato and much more flavor.
Already voted Ultra MAGA Mexicans for Trump
MAGA FOREVER. WELL DONE FOR VOTING FOR HIM
Good instructions! Thanks!
Nice
Very well spoken sir
a pistol in the back pocket. You got bears?
@Raul28153 Bears, Coyotes, Rabid Fox and Racoons. Ya just never know.
@@VermontHomesteader When I started splitting wood adjacent to my tree line I was concerned about bears. So I kept a short barrel 12 ga loaded with slugs handy. Never ended up seeing a bear. They prolly don't like the noise.
No beans!! Not in deer chili
@laura_hope1483 We like the beans but I do know many others who don't. I also add onion and garlic for my own bowl and some shredded Cheddar. To each their own, enjoy yours with no beans😃
@@VermontHomesteader I just don’t like beans period. But I would sure eat that!!! We usually eat our deer chili with Fritos and lots of cheddar cheese. Kids… keep up the good cooking videos. I love them 😍😂👍
👍
Nice harvest
So good to see them in their natural habitat 😅 Brussel sprouts are great.
Cook
Bro clean that grill. 😂
Damn bro I would probably eat every block on that rack fucking love cheese 🙏😭
Yo seal them and keep them for 2 weeks to let that smoke equalize throughout. Trust me you'll be happy I did
@Su77ivan42 I usually do 3 days, but I'll try a couple weeks.
Clean ya grill 😂
Probably should, gets alot of use!
@@VermontHomesteader I can tell. Master griller for sure 😁
How do you use the smoked cheese?
@@zimboloves Slice and eat, on burgers, shred for salad.
🔥 keep smoking that cheese
Nice! Looks amazing 💯
Sounds wonderful! Vermont is such a beautiful state. Is the gov't as corrupt & insane as it appears to outsiders?
@jens7898 Without doubt. Super high taxes and adding more every year. Crazy policies. High housing costs. Good news is if you are here already and have some land then you have options and hopefully obtained a low interest mortgage prior to Covid. Property taxes are oppressive though.
Hell yea brother✌🏾🌱🐐
That thing is so sweet. Cold smoke is awesome 👌. I do cheese in my hot smoker with the door open 😆
@WoodlawnHollowHomestead I also do cheese in my hot smoker with an ice tray under the cheese. Also I don't the pellet smoker itself but a metal tube that holds pellets.
It’s called board and batten
I can turn my outhouse into a smoker 😄 win , win 👍
Small ass smoke house smoking rabbits
Board and Batten baby!
you are awesome
Hi, not many people building this style smokehouse. Will this reach 250 degrees for typical meat smoking or is this just for cold smoking?
@sterlingeric23 it was intended for cold smoking, but I intend on putting up strapping to cover the seems between the boards and I will have a thermometer in the smoke house. Time will tell.
Im looking forward to seeing what your temps are i just bought an old stove and have most of the materials ready to build this same smokehouse @@VermontHomesteader
@@sterlingeric23 I'll update when I fire it up.
I make mine the same way but I use a slicer to shred my onions and cukes...😋
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Beans in the salsa ? Looks delicious 😋
@@NSfarmlife Good stuff for sure!
I do the Ruth Stout potato method... Game changer....No hilling....Last year I harvested 215.4 pounds...Praying this years harvest does as well...🤞
@annetteparker5276 I'll be composting leaves this year, in order to mound and surround veggie plants next year.
@@VermontHomesteader .....I discovered the Ruth Stout potato and onion method last year....I am truely addicted....Getting to old to hill and weed so much....Ruth was from Connecticutt so not to far from Vermont.... Always tweaking the garden and chores....If we only realized when we were younger and building infrastructure that one day we would be older....😂🤣
