Carthage: The Empire That Almost Conquered Rome
Carthage was a powerful, maritime civilization based in the city of Carthage, located near present-day Tunis, Tunisia. It rose to prominence as a commercial and military power in the Mediterranean between the 9th and 2nd centuries BCE, exerting influence over vast regions of North Africa, Spain, Sicily, and beyond. Known for its naval prowess and complex economic networks, Carthage was one of the major powers in the ancient world, rivaling the Roman Republic, with which it eventually clashed in the destructive Punic Wars. The rise and fall of Carthage tell a story of ambition, cultural exchange, and ultimately, annihilation by its most formidable adversary, Rome.

In common parlance, the wives of Henry VIII were the six queens consort of King Henry VIII of England between 1509 and his death in 1547. In legal terms (de jure), Henry had only three wives, because three of his marriages were annulled by the Church of England. He was never granted an annulment by the Pope, as he desired, however, for Catherine of Aragon, his first wife. Annulments declare tha...

A proposed resolution: In linguistics, some sentences can be said to be true, others false and others are of indeterminate truth value (e.g. questions or instructions). It seems that "This sentence is false" is true if and only if it is false. If this is the case, it can be neither true nor or false. It must then fall into the category of having indeterminate truth value. As for Epimenides' rant, I think no inconsistency would arise if it was a lie, and at least one Cretan once told the truth.

Grozno obdobje zgodovine.
