Israel has a RIGHT to defend itself ? (using probability)
Welcome to Jetlagged Politics, where hosts Ghada and Amina tackle the complex and contentious question: Is Israel truly defending itself? In Episode 4, we dive deep into the recent assassination of Hassan Nasrallah and the unfolding escalations across the Middle East. We examine Israel’s military actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and beyond, asking whether these responses align with international laws on self-defense or signify a larger strategic agenda.
Through Bayesian process tracing and causal reasoning, we unpack the biases and beliefs surrounding this question, scrutinizing evidence from humanitarian reports, international law, and regional histories. Is this a justified defense, or are we w...

Keep up the good work ❤
Good job ladies 👌
The "left/right" is a meaningless dichotomy - the more accurate terms to use would be "progressive" and "conservative, and even then you have to contextualize them within a specific time and place. For example, if you're talking about modern America, you could make the argument that conservatism is on the rise - conservatism in this case being classic English Liberalism underpinned by Christian morality. This would be in opposition to establishment progressivism - which, in the American context, would mean socialistic French Liberalism underpinned by a mixed of NeoMarxism, relativism, and an extremely vague Christian moral framework. Saying something like "the far-right is on the rise globally" is utterly meaningless because its total lack of context conflates too many disparate things. For one, an English conservative and a Chinese conservative are wildly different. For another, if a progressive moves to an increasingly distant, or extreme, position, and a conservative retains their same position - from the progressive's new position the conservative seems distant despite having not changed.
Progressive Vs Conservative is no more meaningful than Left Vs Right because they both are defined (as you so rightly say later) differently wherever you go and people tend to assume it’s the current, highly debatable, occidental value system that gets to define it. Left and Right is no better but it’s a little less complex
Half of the continent is turning into Africa/ the middle fucking east of course we turn far right 👍
What privileges are you willing to give up in order to have a « less-mixed » society ?

Far right just means the truth that is a threat to my power that I obtained through corrupted socialization. The left is physically weak and is held together through bureaucratic institutions. A lie is a debt to truth and the collection I don’t think your types can mentally and physically pay.
What do you mean « physically » though ? 🤔

I'm still at the beginning of the episode. I love to hack my filter bubble as well 😅 However, I think the vast majority of users are not even aware they're in a filter bubble. I hope your podcast will reach the right people to wake them up
Bravo Amina and Ghada for this accurate analysis ❤
You rock girls ❤ Good job ❤ Keep going ❤
Just a remark when ever u say druze it appears as jews try to correct it ❤
YES unfortunately we can't fix it for this one
good job ladies :>
Thanks for this excellent interview and sharing your perspectives
Excellent work ❤
Good job 👍 just a small technical remark. Whenever you say Druze, it automatically translates to Jews in the subtitles. Which might be confusing for people who are not familiar with the correct word.
Thanks for the episode, it was very instructive. However, I have a few points that are necessary to take into perspective. The problem with this kind of discussion is that it makes us vulnerable on the front line and unable to see the harsh reality as it is. Your perspective only comments on events without really explaining what is happening behind the scenes. It's like commenting on a movie, making it seem like a spectacle, and it highlights our weakness. Don't take it personally, but the difference between their politics and ours is that we comment on news from newspapers, while they write history in front of our eyes. Even with the ICJ condemnation, countries with powerful economies and industries continue as if nothing is happening. We need a pivotal change in how we view the world, which is ruining us and the Palestinians deeply. Just talking about it doesn't mean we are doing something good; it just shows we are unaware of the reality. If we were truly interested in getting Israel to stop its occupation, we need to understand how the world works. Consider the roles of influential entities like George Soros, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Big Tech companies controlling algorithms and our minds, Estée Lauder, and even Jeffrey Epstein. These entities have a hand in the disaster happening there. The way content is delivered is problematic. It’s not just about the news or solutions; there needs to be a deeper explanation of what is happening. Quoting the Quran or referencing Zionism or the Talmud isn't enough. History is being made before our eyes, and we need to engage with it deeply. We need more explanation about the economic relationships between big corporations and Israel, their impact on the world, and their influence in Arab countries. The problem didn’t start in 1948 or 1967; it began much earlier. These powerful entities control the most powerful civilizations on earth. Instead of always victimizing ourselves, we need to understand their strengths and counteract them. Keep going, but provide alternative explanations. Discuss AIPAC, CRIF, and other organizations that keep the system running. With more detailed information, we can move from merely watching and commenting to taking action. These people control the media and many other countries; they are beyond Hollywood and are the building blocks of our current civilizations. Jeans, perfume, entertainment industries, banking systems, hedge funds, big tech, and many others-all are influenced by them. When a civilization takes over a part of the world, it's not just military but more psychological. People are not willing to go to war anymore; the educational system keeps people obedient to this system. Social media has become an illness of naivety and intellectual disorder, with information becoming instant and not fitting into a timeline. The people behind this system of mass control are becoming unknown, creating a society of spectacle where we cannot act anymore; we just seek images (how many people attend a manifestation, which media is talking about the subject, etc.). We need a revolution that goes beyond all of this. We need the courage to attack the holders of the system and start pointing them out (like Ilan Pappé, Noam Chomsky, Sylvain Cypel, Avi Shlaim, John Mearsheimer, and many others) who explain in detail what is happening behind the scenes. Keep going, and give us more details about what is happening to keep the wheel turning. With that, we can start acting and stop merely watching and commenting!
Wow ! Thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough review. Noted ! Agreed on your point about perspective and victimization. That has to change and a good starting point is at the opposite side of where we personally stand. It absolutely is, as you say, about power and one needs to follow the money to understand it. However, I remain a proponent of incrementally moving the needle without necessarily being in direct confrontation with the system as it is objectively more effective in converting people. - Amina
@@Hedimellouli The system is overgrown and metastasized and like all empires, it is more likely to be destroyed from within 👼 your feedback tells us that we can take it up a notch with our analysis. I hope we can deliver on that in the next episodes and that you'll keep watching !

Finally ❤❤❤
Great episode!! ❤❤ I loved the topic and your analysis of the current situation. Here are some of my remarks regarding what could be improved, 1. The episode is too short! Just as I was getting hooked up to the episode it was already nearing the end. 40-60 minutes would be ideal. 2. The intro seemed a bit scripted, it’s better to be spontaneous and just go with the flow when it comes to podcasts. 3. The subtitles need rechecking. 4. Ghada needs a better camera 😅 And lastly, as Amina said, the region is up on fire nowadays so it would be best to have one episode per week if possible. I really love the podcast and I’ll be waiting for your next episodes, please continue and never stop improving ❤❤❤❤❤
Appreciate the feedback ! - Amina
