Good remix by the way, albeit a bit normal for Coil standards ;) but i understand, psytrance just like metal has it rules...
Question, as a fan of Coil for many many years and interested in music production, did you just take the song and added layers on a DAW right? it sounds like that, or did you get the original song in some format where you could play around with the original layers? I'd go with the first option by just listening to this for the first time.
Hi... Exactly, I basically processed the original in a few ways (removing some resonances etc) and then added layers, as I don't have access to the stems to do a proper remix (you could call it a "bootleg" instead if you like). But I felt this particular track didn't need much to turn into psytrance, just a kick and some extra stuff gets you in the ballpark of psy. Like you say in your other comment, it's nothing special in terms of experimental music like Coil (also a fan here, obviously), but compared to the overwhelming "sameness" of current psytrance, it's quite different from other psy tracks - and I just had to do something with a Coil track for my own pleasure.
