How to set up a radial arterial line when in the ED. See part 2 for info on femoral arterial lines and a brief discussion on REBOA. *Please note, when securing the transducer to the patient, in the video I implied to secure to the anterior chest wall, but we should actually be securing to the phlebostatic axis (see attached link for picture). www.google.com/search?q=phlebostatic axis&source=lnm...

Slip and fell. Arthritis in there own body. Stop assuming Regions hospital ER nurse's discrimination against us disabled people who you labeled as drug addicts seekers and junkies liar's. So I tell medics to take me to a different ER hospital 🏥 for injury 🤕🩸 to get the better care from.

    Hi, This video was very helpful. I was wondering if you would be available for a quick user interview to help me with my master thesis. The aim of the interview is to understand the procedures that happen within the OR during a procedure.

    When I worked ICU we started our own Art lines. We used an ultrasound probe to find the artery. Our supplies were not locked and sometimes it was lots of hassle looking for things. Wow we never taped the flush to the chest

    Man, you guys lock all your supplies in a Pixis?! I guess the upside is that you don't have to know where everything is or try to explain which cupboard an item is in, during a code. I just have a paranoia of equipment failure.

      For most Pyxis machines, you can have the materials department set select doors to always be unlocked. That way you don't have to log in or anything, you just walk up and open the door.

    Good video, but as a matter of practice it is not a good idea to tape the transducer to the pts. chest. A better way it to get a old school foley cath strap which you can still find and strap it to the pts bicep at the level of the phlibostatic axis. This gives you a much better and accurate reading than being taped in the wrong place on the pts chest.

    • @djxpress
      @djxpress 4 года назад

      I was just thinking this...the chest is too high up, and not at the phlebostatic axis.

    • @patchouligirl46
      @patchouligirl46 4 года назад

      If I have time, sometimes I like to put a 2X2 under the transducer before I tape it down to help prevent it from digging into the pts skin. Especially if they have fragile skin.

      If you tape it to the chest it's gonna be harder to pull your labs and flush the line.
