This is so informative thank you so much!
Now I know 100% that the last tattoo artist I had sucked. Scared and blown out on most lines. Lol
Yeah, my first tattoo artist was the same. :-)
Hello, nice channel. I do handpoke tattoos. I started two years ago with simple minimalist tattoos. I had the possibility to use a machine and I improved my knowledge. Now I can do old school and shaded works but my machine got broken and at the moment I'm back with stick and poke with more experience. Stick and poke is slow but so relaxing... I have a question: how do you use cartridge needle by hand? I've got some of my broken pen machine....😊
Hi, I startet with some self made tools to hold the cartridges. The were made out of the grips for tattoo machines. The old school one, not the pen version. But later I bought a tool from dragonhawk.
Been stick and poking for 2 years now and honestly this video made me realise I’ve been tattooing wrong, not wrong but it makes the process slower
Happy to be helpful :-)
Did you ever do a video of clean working? I'd like to learn this please.
I think one of my next video will be about that topic
Close up of the needles and what they create would help please.
I 3will definetly try to do a closeup
Close up of the needles and what they create would help please.
This is very useful! Thank youu
You are more than welcome.
Bit confused should you poke at 90 degrees or 45 degrees?
45 but going with the line
It depends on what you wanna do. With lines 45 and with shading as close to 90 as possible.
Hi! How do you cut the needle?
I made myself a tool for that. But I think you can actually buy a simple pincers. Just always keep it clean.
Thnq, am tryna grow my stick and poke skill, it helped me with my issues
Happy to hear that.
Amazing vid! Plz do more xoxo
Hi, yes i will do more now. Had to fina new studio spot for more videos :-)
Thank you so much for sharing this information and for making it clear and understandable. It's exactly what I needed!
Happy to help!
This is so interesting, I knew about the first one and I knew ofcourse that you shouldn't use cheap ink but I didn't know why or how it actually affects the skin/tattoo! And didn't know about the third either. So thank you for this useful tutorial :)
You are welcome :-)
Awesome info, im just learning at the moment and have done some practice on fake skins (which i see you don't recommend) but im glad i didn't do it on myself as im just playing and learning the medium. Your videos explain some of the things i have been really wondering like pulling the lines. I do wonder how you know when tattooing what depth you are at? Does it feel a certain way or do you just try for about 2mm ?
I definitly feel it. It takes some practise, but after a while you can feel it.
At 5:30 what is the metal device called? I'd love to look it up to buy one
Oh good question. It is a selfmade tool from another german tattoo artist, but I sadly think he doesn't sell them anyymore.
What is the metal tool on the end of the grip and tube?
Sadly I don't the name. I just bought it from another tattoo artist.
the other name for those popsicle sticks is tongue depressor
Thanks, I always forget the name
Very useful! Thank you
You are welcome :-)
Wow very very helpful! Thanks
Hi.
Hi. Absoluter Fan deines Kanals und deinem content. Hast du ein fertiges Bild vom Star War Poke? Grüße
Huhu, ne leider noch nicht. Irgendwie kommt immer was dazwischen.
I am looking for reputable supplies, single use sterile etc. But just dont know who to trust in the UK. Have you got any suggestions? Thanks.
Have a look at Killer INK. They have so much really good and sterile stuff for tattooing.
Amazing! 4 year pmu and tiny tattoo artist here, do you think it will be an easy transition to hand poke? I’m feeling slightly intimidated but I want my work to stand out
I think it is a matter of your pactience :-) You can learn very easily to feel the right depth and stuff like that when you are expirienced with machine tattoos, but you have to learn, that handpoke takes much more time :-) That was the biggest issue for me.
I just wrap the needle with tape just until I have a comfortable grip
That is good way to to it. It didn't work for me, but everyone has his own preferences.
you are helping me a lot... learning still
Thanks, sorry for the late answer.
Thankyou for making this video it really helped me understand how blowouts happen.
Happy to be helpful
Could you do another video with the second reason but including a visual with an actual needle? The drawing is a bit confusing to me but I'd love to know more!
I can try :-)
Does it matter if its the inside/outside of that plastic that you wrap things up? My friend says it has to be the "inside" part
I don't think it matters that much, but to feel safer, the best way would be to have the inside outside when wrapping things up or just cut of the for 5 cm and after that it doens't matter at all.
Your videos are amazing for begginers like me, thank you 🎉❤
What a nice video, thank you ! Could you make a video where you use these needles to draw a design ? So you could tell and show us the differences between the needles. Love your videos, keep going 🤩
Hi, yes, there is one coming up soon. :-)
your videos are so helpful, I am just getting back into tattooing I did my apprenciteship with machines and have now fallen in love with handpoke! Have you ever done linework with a RS I have seen a lot of people pulling some dark saturated chunky lines with round shaders and I tried a couple of times and struggled to get a solid line, any tips if you have tried this yourself? Thanks!

I did and it works nice with machine. With handpoking though my experience was meh. Therefore I love my RL 😅
Thankyou
You are welcome
Thank you for the helpful video! I've been wondering if the white stays the pinky colour that it gets when it mixes with blood?
No, the red blood cells are broken down and it becomes white, or cream-coloured depending on the skin tone.
Hi, i have a no 3 for a blowout: forget to put some vaseline on the the the skin before starting poking, arghhh. Dynamcic black union [ reach] is a awesome ink, almost non to no wiping in between. Quantum [assphalt] also good black, but thinner, so you have to wipe.
Well, it's September...curious, do you have the small amount of those pens for people to buy? [because i don't know how to make this hole]. 🙂
I am a bit behind at the moment as I have been sick for two weeks now. But I think I will put it into my shop this week ☺️
@@theartfulcorner961 Thnx. Get well soon.
So i figured out not using Vaseline to control the ink but rubbing alcohol on my papper towel so when i do a line i wipe the ink and it comes right off now it does remover the stencil so be careful how you wipe but that seems to work better for me and i dont have to put as much pressure on the area to wipe with rubbing alcohol making my skin last a lot longer before turning red and swelling
Oh well, if it works for you. Just be careful, as many people don't react well to alcohol on their skin, especially while tattooing. It can irritate the skin even more.
Super helpful thank you! I'm in my research faze of my stick and poke journey. If you are interested in the medical/technical aspect the Institute of Human Anatomy has a really cool video that tells you all about the anatomy and layers of skin.
Thank you for keeping your promise to yourself!!!🤗 If it wasn't for you I would have not found a person on RUclips really worth watching. I have learned from every video I have watched of yours and I Truly Appreciate it. Thank you for stressing hygiene. And for reminding me to Enjoy myself through my journey. Your love for this art is infectious and that you can't fake. Blessed be 💛💛💛
Thank you so much for your feedback ❤️
Yes totally agree❤ . Example pffff really the client wanted a beautifull healing memory. Somatic practice littarly embodiment of a new feeling. This why i stepping in to this calling learning from you with the knowing of healing the person transmuting that energy😊
This is beautiful ❤️
If u start to sell the stick n poke pen you made the hole in I would so buy it... very creative and smart.🙂👌🏽
Well then be prepared, there will be a small amount of these in September 😁
I feel spied on by google, just solved my problem I had yesterday at my first attempt 😮😂.. and i was not searching for that video... Thx
Ah that is great and I know how you feel. Google can be creepy sometimes 😅 Any others problems I can solve?
Your videos are very helpful. Thank you so much!
It is good to hear that. Do you have any other questions or problems I might be able to give an answer to?
Very helpful! I've seen metal holders specifically for handpoke needles before, been considering it. I love how you just find stuff and make it work, like that knife handle, makes so much sense, but it just has to occur to you.
Yeah, I wasn't that happy with anything on the market. The dragon hawk one wasn't released back then so I had to find a solution and I still stick to it ☺️
These are really cool designs!
Thank you 😊 I enjoyed these so much.
all of these are so cute and creative! are they your designs?
Yes, they are all my designs 😁 Do you have a favorite? It is driving me crazy now to wait years for season 3 😭
@@theartfulcorner961 wow, i love them so much! the first one is my favorite, a lot because it fits the style of my current tattoos :P. i also like how in the teapot and wine glass one the liquid on top resemble wings a bit! me too. i cried so much for the finale, haha! if you were based in my country, i'd come in as a client so quickly! you're very talented.
@@xioxialt Ahhh, thank you so much ❤️
I love how it gets progressively more in your face 😂 imagine them all up your arm from innocent to straight up smootchin 😍😁
I love these. They are all really nicely designed ❤
AH thanks. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the wine 🍷🥂 but psst 😅
@@theartfulcorner961I think I might also like the first one and the drinks the most.😉
