Yes I think tickets can be bought in advanced on sites like Omio! Those sites may charge you an extra fee though. But it is possible!

London is 2.5 x bigger than NYC, you need at least 5 days and then still haven't scratched the surface.. Oh and it gets really dark there mid winter but stays light till 11pm in the summer. Crazy, right? I lived in London for 5 years, still miss it :(
