Our Caminos
США
Добавлен 16 ноя 2019
Hola Amigo's! We made our first Camino de Santiagao in 2019. We completed the Frances route from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Santiago (modified for time). This is a channel to follow all things Camino, as well as our actual Camino's that we have walked or are planning to walk.
Channel Trailer. Our Caminos
Join us on our very first Camino de Santiago beginning in Saint Jean Pied de Port France, and ending in Santiago Spain. We have a little "twist" in our camino, so watch this short series of videos, and see how a couple can walk the camino before you retire. This is OUR CAMINO

Our Camino Ep 8 Rest Day & Day One from Sarria Camino de Santiago
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.4 года назад
Because of time constraints, we have to modify our Camino. We took a train from Logrono Spain to Sarria to complete the Camaino de Santiago from there. In this video, we take a rest day after riding in a train overnight, then we begin the rest of Our Camino by walking from Sarria to Portomarin
Our Camino Ep 7 Los Arcos to Logrono Camino de Santiago
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
Today we walk from Los Arcos Spain to Logrono Spain on the Camino de Santiago Frances route. This is the last walk before we take a train from Logrono to Sarria. Unfortunately, we are limited on time, so we have to skip a portion of the Camino until a later time. In Logrono, we get an albergue to rest before we wake up at midnight to catch an overnight train to Sarria.
Our Camino Ep 6 Estella to Los Arcos Camino de Santiago

In this video, we walk from Puente la Reina to Estella Spain on the Camino de Santiago. We lost an entire disk of footage, so we are making these videos with our cellphone camera footage.

We're headed our on our 4th day of the Camino de Santiago. hiking from Pamplona to Puente La Reina Spain.
Our Camino Ep3 - Zubiri to Pamplona
Просмотров 3,1 тыс.4 года назад
We take a taxi from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Zubiri (since we're a day behind), and we walk along the Camino through our first villages in Spain our way to Pamplona. The walk is fairly easy, but the last miles seem to drag on longer than expected, but we're rewarded with the good food, company and spirits of Pamplona Spain.
Our Caminos - Ep.2 - Back to SJPDP
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.5 лет назад
After walking 27k over the Pyrenees mountains to Roncesvalles, we were met with the reality of not having a place to stay. It was getting late, so we decided to just take a taxi back to SJPDP and get a room there for the night. We ended up staying an extra day in SJPDP because we had some minor injuries to deal with from our first day on the Camino
Camino de Santiago Day 0 and Day 1.

We fly from Ohio in the USA to Canada, then to Barcelona to catch a cab to the train station, then onto Zaragosa to Pamplona and finally onto Saint Jean Pied de Port, where we will begin our Camino.

Eu acredito que seria mais viável enviar sua mochila para outro albergue do que deixar seu companheiro levar o dobro do peso. Seria muito justo mas espero que tenha se recuperado pra andar propriamente o CAMINO.
I'm waiting this stretch in about an hour...3:05am currently in Spain...normally start my day between 4 and 5. Great Post...yesterday really did me in...but this has calmed me
We want to do another Camino in 2023. I hope you have a good walk tomorrow. Buen Camino.
Oh that final stretch was joyful...almost totally in the dark and mostly clear star filled skies. Arrived at the Monte De Goza statues at sunrise! What JOY
@@ENGABU1 yes...its beautiful
Thanks to your videos I just did the last 114 km to Santiago and to be honest you inspired me to do it and so far it is the best trip of my life..it could be because im religious. Thanks Maria and Rob
Awe, thank you so much for that. We are happy to have inspired at least one person. The Camino was a great experience, and we have had another one in our plans for years, but the covid outbreak has ruined it…we are hoping for Spring/Summer 2023. Buen Camino😁 (this is our other RUclips channel for sailing).
A fermosa Galicia.
Yes, it was beautiful. We can’t wait to go back.
buen camino...i enjoyed your journey and i thank you for posting it.
We enjoyed the walk and making the videos. Thank you for watching. (We responded from our other RUclips channel about sailing).
Buen Camino
Gracias. Buen Camino
I like your videos. what station of the year you did camino de santiago? it seems to me spring. im asking because I want to do it also and i think summer would be too hot.
We walked this Camino during Easter in 2019. We started in mid April. (this response is from our other RUclips channel (sailing channel).
One thing about walking sticks, if you have them in your hands and keep your arms moving, your hands won’t swell up after walking 20 or 30 km. That’s another good use for walking pools.
I did find that walking with sticks in hand didn’t feel too bad. I like the security too; just in case of wild animals or wild pilgrims 😀
We are really enjoying your videos. What did you use to film them?
We walked the Camino in 2019 around Easter time. We’ve planned more Camino’s after, but Covid happened.
If you do a day 0 climb to one of the early albergues on the hill, you can have a slightly easier day 0. You have to book in advance though.
Enjoying your videos. Were the dormitories at the Roncesvalles monastery really sold out? Wow.
The things you thought were chicken coops are actually corn storage. I wasn't sure what they were either, so I asked one of the locals. Buen Camino.
Hi Rob, That chicken cop was for grain, there up high to protect from rats etc. Chris,
We figured that out later. We were told it's to keep the grain elevated and to help dry it as well. We are in the planning stages for our next Camino now... are you planning one as well?
Congratulations!
Hi Rob, you said you were happy you did not bring your drone with you, why is that? I am planning to have mine with me when doing el Camino. Thanks!
The only reason I was glad that I didn't take my drone was because I packed too much gear to begin with. Knowing what I know now, on our next camino, i won't carry extra shoes and as much extra clothes, and i will take my drone.
@@ourcaminos great!! thanks so much!! I love your videos btw, I watched them all. Cheers!!
@@agustindevisita Thank you so much.. We enjoy making the videos. We are planning another Camino in the Spring (2021) COVID permitting. This time it will most likely be the Portugal Coastal Route. (this response is from our sailing RUclips channel).
Are you not happy or excited.... Buien Camino
We are very happy and excited, and looking forward to our next Camino.
Best video of cammino Feels as if we realy are on cammino Thank you
Thank you so much for that ☺️.
This is our other channel 😀
Smart having that rest day...and getting a bit of extra time in St Jean!
It was much needed. That day 1 surprised us. We really liked SJPDP too.
Did you walk the entire Camino? Nice videos
j J thank you. We only had 2 1/2 weeks, so we walked from SJPDP to Logrono then took a train to Sarria and walked to Santiago. We have what we call “Camino Debt” now; we will finish it in 2021
Great videos. Interested in where you had dinner in Palas de Rei! Looked fantastic!
Chris Togni we’re not really sure of the name of it, but it was just across from where we stayed.
A must incredible journey ! Thank you for showing us 'the Way' ... Bravo du Canada !
Anne Gingras we’re from the US, but still Bravo Canada and US 😊. It was our pleasure to make these videos.
I don't want this journey to end ! So so well done and interesting !
Anne Gingras hopefully we will be walking another one soon, so we can make another series. 😊
I love this series .... Thank you !
Anne Gingras thank you. We had a great time walking and making the videos. Buen Camino
I give you 2 a lot of credit. steep hill albergnes full lost disc and still keeping on.
dave it really wasn’t that bad. If we were in a tight budget, it could have been bad, but thank God we had the means to afford hotels when we needed them. Thanks for watching. Btw, I’m answering this from our sailing youtube channel page 😊
Wonderful achievement. I really enjoyed watching your videos. Any future plans for another Camino, maybe a different route ?
Simon John thank you for watching. Yes, we plan to walk the Portuguese Coastal Route in the fall of 2020. Buen Camino.
Amazing coming along with you two. Congratulations and thanks for sharing...... soup looked good scallops amazing. Maria, have loved your foodie moments. Pilgrim's service - lovely.. Thank you both xx Looking forward to our own Camino at the end of Summer!
Elly H thank you for watching. We miss the Camino and the food. We’re planning another for 2020. Next Camino is the Portuguese Coastal Route. Buen Camino.
Wonderful video!
Nearly there, we have been following your journey. Thank you for sharing it with us x
Elly H thank you for watching. Yes, one more day of walking then we will make a video of our one day in Santiago and Barcelona, then maybe a video on what we packed and what we would do different on our next Camino (fall of 2020).
You are well done. I am very impressed because I also waked camino de Frances last september and did not have enough time to walk through all couse so I walked from SJPP to Logrono, took bus from Logrono to Sarria then walk again to santiago as same as you. You vlog remaind me the good memories. Thank you very very much.
NSRRK thank you. We plan to walk the rest of the Frances some day. We say that we have “Camino debt”; we owe the Camino those miles/kilometers. Our next Camino will most likely be the Coastal Portuguese route.
This one of the good Camino videos. Enjoyed it very much. Reminded me of my own Camino in 2018 and all the fun I had. I’m walking it again this April. I’ve written a novel about the Camino called The Catching of the Camino Wind. It is now available @Amazon.com in either paperback or e-book.

Awesome thanks so much
Stayed at Hotel Ramuntcho on May 24th, 2016. For me this stage is the most difficult.
Lope Tabil we agree. Day 1 was tough.
@@ourcaminos And it has most of all funs in Day 1.....
No vino no Camino. Great moto for walking 🤣🍷
Please consider doing a gear review? What was essential or what was not? Your packs seemed very large?
Sherry Zompa we did take some extra stuff. In hindsight, we could have left some stuff home. The packs were large, but not full. We used our regular hiking packs and didn’t buy Camino specific packs. Mine was 28 lbs (camera gear and extra boots) and Maria’s was 21 lbs. we both plan to go with less than 20 on our next Camino. We may do a gear review once we upload all of our Camino videos. I think there 2-3 more videos to go. Thanks for watching.
Yeah, what would you leave behind if you did it again?
I noticed a marked change after Sarria. It's hard not to be a 'camino snob' 😬 On the flip side I did enjoy the beauty of Galicia. I look forward to your next installment.
Simon John I like quiet. You definitely lose any solitude or quiet after Sarria. It’s still very nice though. If I didn’t have the first part of the Camino to compare it to, it would have been awesome.
Love this video series. Look forward to your finish!!!
Thank you for posting. We are walking from Sarria to Santiago in March. ¡Buen camino!
Erin Oswanski you’re welcome. We enjoy making the videos. This is the footage from our cell phones; we actually lost all of our footage from or HD video camera that I carried on the Camino. Our next Camino will have better footage, with more narration and info. (We lost all of our primary footage) 😞. Buen Camino.
