I really appreciated watching this. My husband and I were art students at Columbus College of Art & Design around the same time that Bill was at Ringling. Our heroes were Bernie Fuchs and Mark English, among others. After a 44 year career with our own graphic design and illustration studio we are now hoping to transition into Fine Art. Listening to Bill made me realize that we aren't the only ones struggling with self-doubt on a different, but totally related, endeavor. I am hampered by my years of illustration having to reach a specific audience and goal. Now, it is hard to be able to just do it on my own, with no deadline, no one else to please. I think I balk at the fact that to be successful at it requires a commitment to also selling yourself all over again in an almost more vulnerable way, because painting comes from your soul, and not a directive from a client. Finding my way to applying that paint again, with that specific directive, comes with a lot of fear on my part. Listening to artists like Bill takes me one more step toward getting over that barrier. Thanks, Bill!

Hi Karen, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback on our podcast episode with Bill Farnsworth. It’s truly inspiring to hear about your journey from art students to successful graphic designers and transitioning into Fine Art. Bill’s insights into the creative process and dealing with self-doubt resonate deeply with many artists, and it’s wonderful to know that his experiences have encouraged you. The transition from working with client directives to creating art for oneself can indeed be daunting and vulnerable. It’s a significant shift but also a deeply rewarding one. We’re so glad Bill’s story has helped you and your husband navigate this new chapter. Best of luck as you embark on this exciting phase of your artistic journey. Thank you again for sharing your story with us, and we hope our future episodes continue to inspire and support you. Jaja

August 9, 2024 The irony of the 90th birthday [August 7, 1934] of Steve Ihnat (Fleet Captain Garth) isn't lost upon this lifelong "Trek" fan. I've dealt with emotional trauma myself. Garth, in a novel, recovered and became a successful Federation ambassador. No relapse. The inhabitants of Antos forgave him and welcomed Garth formerly of Izar back as one of their own. 🖖 Great commentary!

Congratulations on your legal win, Thomas Lee! This law is 100% unconstitutional and all US states should sue.

Were they stockpiling or transporting DiHydrogenMonoxide? Is Boeing going to fly that to China? That must be a violation. It must not be safe to fly that unless cooled to a frozen state.
