love how youtube showed me this. used to live in that lake as a kid during the summers at grandpas house and now that i own a house in calgary and want to essentially do this same thing with a garage and extended living space between that and the house... cool video hopefully you can show more at some point. cheers.
Hey that's really cool! Amazing lake hey. I have another video coming out soon on that addition and once it's done I'll do a video from the footings to completion showing the tie in to the house. Thanks for watching! Cheers
I appreciate you showed the mistake in the beginning and what to do about it.
Thank you. I have 2 with the same issue. I removed the paper but didn't do a deep clean.
...so why weren't the smells coming from the toilet since it was a sewer smell?
Baby's first time operating
Was it lol I thought he was pulling some kind of expert menuever to climb those stairs
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's why I don't lend expensive tools to anyone. I guess that it would have been easier on you and on the tool to mount the stand it is supplied with. The clutch works flawlessly but shouldn't be abused, I guess. Good job on the drilling, though.
As a carpenter I give that saw chuck a 9/10 😉 🤛 10/10 if it was Dewalt 😂 as I’m a DeWalt fan boy apparently but it’s never ever let me down in 20 years .
Привет,ребята,Ютуб у нас заблокирован,но я всё равно с удовольствием смотрю ваши видео. Респект!
Thanks!
I am fanatical about stairs and can do them quick and accurately . I seldom use a framing square " Dude is nuts already " . I use a TI-90 Texas Instrument Scientific calculator and make a chunk of 2x . Calculate and lay it all out of the hypotenuse , I like to gather as much strength as possible so I look for the knots . Extend the bottom to form a hook and for my stiffeners / skirt spacers . I double up the center one as well .. After 43 years in the trade . It's walking the dog .Even though I am slower now I still get them done too fast . I wanna be like the rest and act like I am splitting atoms and demand .. Silence .. I am building steps !!!!! .. Like the ones at The Loretto Chapel ' The Stairs built by Joseph "
Awesome!
Rise and run calculation?
Nice and efficient. One thing though: the heel of the stringers need support and should sit on the landing. There is little strength in the toe.
Thanks, yes I did actually add support afterward by extending the landing with 4 ply 2 by 6 glued and screwed

Ive got the first generation gun the 690, mine stopped sinking nails all of a sudden after 12 years of constant abuse and i couldn't find a fix so bought another. Its been in the garage for a year or so, tomorrow once im in from work im going to give it a look, hopefully it will be as easy to fix as yours🤞
Yea man I hope it works for you. Let me know what you find.
The guy with the yellow hard hat is much funnier

The horrendous choice of music kills any chance this video had. Ba By.
That's great 😂😂
These are great vids crash.
Thanks red 😀
I'll always remember coming off of break and getting back to work to stumble across finger in a puddle of parkade water. Guy runs up and grabs it and takes off, guess they were looking for it for bout 10 mins. Another time was a TFW carpenter ties off to the slab rebar on deck so he could go work on the side of a building 15 stories up. Or when the rebar foreman fell off the retaining wall being made 40 some stories when the crane clipped the repair bouncing him off. Yeah, site was too cheap to extend the crane again...
Wow that's crazy!
@@crashjob Yeah, I was severely disillusioned with safety here in Canada when I first started out. Now, my head is on a swivel and I'm terrified of getting injured due to the bad healthcare we have here. Ain't fun :(

Excellent!
Question - I have termite damage on my top plate boards (on a load bearing / exterior wall). If for example you have a 10 ft long top plate (2 boards thick) and the termite damage is only on the first 2 feet of the 10 feet, does code require you to replace the entire 10 ft boards or are you allowed to just cut out a little past where the damage ends and add a new short piece to replace what you cut out? In other words the top plate is now two boards making the 10 ft instead of one 10 ft board. I know its best if it is a single board but dont know what code says about repair situation when the entire 10 ft is not damaged.
Yes you can definitely just cut past the damage and add two feet of board to the top plate. Nothing wrong with that. Cheers 🍺
Ok good deal thanks for the reply - that will be much easier@@crashjob
Thanks for the reply - I do have a multitool and reciprocating saw so one of the two should work depending on where I make the cut. I still have to cut some more drywall out in the next room over to check and see where the damage ends. I was thinking I might just make the cut so that one end of the new piece is over an entire stud and then sister another stud by that one and give that stud to the other side of the cut line so both boards sitting on a whole stud as opposed to both sitting on half a stud. I think this is going to be a very short amount of damage so I was gonna build a temp wall 2ft back and this is only a 1 story house so there's no celing joists - only trusses (and not big ones) sitting on top of walls. Hopefully ill only have 2-3 trusses to deal with. And yes I have a floor jack.@Tekagi
Bold move nailing that, try some screws and burn them in backwards first
Yep not a big fan of the glue on the fingers 😂
Wow you must be some sort of scientist, I don’t think I can recall ever seeing lumber with the grain oriented perpendicular to its length. You sound like you’re used to working with a small piece of wood so im surprised you didn’t understand what my concern was. That perfect puzzle piece that broke off is a one off and damaging if further could prevent it from ever going back together nicely. A nail shot abruptly through that could have meant no turning back. I would also argue that a screw would be more accurate, assuring everything lines back up perfectly. Which is extremely important as a stair cases rise can’t vary greater than 3/8 throughout the entire case.
