    These are different steps then what I'm learning. Is there a certain order on the actual road test. I'm told to inspect the Drivers seat first. Then the seatbelt, tether belt. Second: Emergency equipment and safety device fire extinguisher needle, a fully stocked first aid kit, 3 reflective triangle. Third: Step Heater defroster Fan speed heater vents work provides a clear view. Forth: Glass & Mirrors no damage and they are properly adjusted the glass on the Driver door the Front windshield and the Passenger door glass all have no damage and provides a clear view. Fifth Windshield wipers & washer fluid the wipers work on High Low and intermittent the wipers and washer works they provide me with a clear view there are no damage to the wiper blades. Sixth: Gauges All my gauges are working normally and the air pressure gauges are in the normal operating range. The parking inductor light is on there are no other lights on the dash. Seventh: Steering wheel excessive free play the steering wheel is secure and the steering wheel response normally to the Left and to the Right. You'll have to do the in cap inspection a second time, but the exammer picks 2 random items and you must read the schedule 1 inspection sheet.

    •  2 года назад

      I dont think there is an order as long as you cover everything

    • @static_Tricolor_camry
      @static_Tricolor_camry 2 года назад

      @ You still need to read the correct wording, on the schedule 1 Pre-trip inspection. Leaving a word out can cost you a mark or fail the Pre-trip inspection, remember you don't know your exammer. They are not your friend, they have the authority to fail someone if they don't like them.

    •  2 года назад

      @@static_Tricolor_camry Every state in different too, as for the wording its in the cdl manual for what you should inspect and look for you don’t have to use the specific words you just have to be clear in what you are inspecting for

    • @static_Tricolor_camry
      @static_Tricolor_camry 2 года назад

      @ I'm from Ontario Canada, they don't require you to inspect the engine components. Only the spring leaf, the fasteners, frame and cargo body, mirrors, glass, fuel tanks, exhaust, wheels, rims, tires, uncoupling and coupling and coupling device. Plus in-cab inspection and there's only 5 Air breaks inspection for the road test portion, from what I've heard the exammer randomly picks one Air breaks inspection out of 5 you would demonstrate and described how you would inspect it.

  • @BushWhackTX
    @BushWhackTX 3 года назад

    You need to supply air to the trailer and perform the same test the valve also protects the truck from trailer break away and between 20 and 45 psi the trailer valve should then pop back out saving some air for safe braking of the tractor

    • @davidbuck9977
      @davidbuck9977 Год назад

      That is the "brake control valve" the part in the dash. This video is testing the "tractor protection valve" which is usually mounted to the back of the cab where the glad hand hoses connect on the tractor. The tractor protection valves only job is to stop air from going to the trailer service line when you are using your service brakes while bob-tailing. Also when the valves pop out on the dash that means the spring brakes are now engaged so the wheels/axles with spring brakes installed will be ideally locked up... that's not exactly safe braking.
