My daughter had a knack for finding misplaced kittens. The rule was they have to stay in the house the first six months, then can go on the screened porch for six months then outside at 12 months. If we hadn’t found a home by the time the vet will spay/neuter we did that plus shots. We always found homes and were relieved to know they were spayed/neutered and would not make more kitties needing families. We never removed claws because even our two permanent kitties got out, went out sometimes. Places she found lost kittens: Under dumpster back of the restaurant where she ate. In the grassy triangle form by and exit ramp off the interstate. In a box behind a neighborhood house. She heard a family was moving and taking a momma cat but leaving her too young to be weaned kittens in a box in the back yard. All four of my children were in on successfully taking care of the kittens without me knowing for over a week. I was proud of them getting a good “milk” for the babies.
