HHKB Pro Classic (2021) - The Ultimate Programmers Board?
It's a very love it or hate it thing, i can never go back to normal keyboards tbh, even mechanical, it's just not as satisfying anymore and PFU understands the HHKB isn't for everyone that's why it's an expensive premium product, it simply isn't meant to sell tens of millions of units, it's an unashamedly niche product, but for those who really love them it's irreplaceable. (and yes PFU, we DEMAND Topre, none of this mechanical nonsense you're doing with the studio, it's Topre or nothing)
😢They don't ship to Brazil
deft pro is too small. ;( go for huge!
Love your video. Hope you upload more videos someday
I think you're supposed to use hover hand with both designs but nearly no one does that, so some kind of wrist supporting add-on would be preferable.
While SCROLLING through the comments using my Trackman Marble, I haven't seen anyone mention MarbleScroll by Primoz Becan (Sorry, anyone who did!). I got this trackball just yesterday and was dismayed by the lack of scrolling /zoom ability. Someone in Amazon comments mentioned MarbleScroll, which I got and had running within about a minute, God's honest! It's a game changer. I'll also investigate Setpoint and Uber Options, but honestly, I think I've just got what I need from MarbleScroll. Google "MarbleScroll for Logitech" to find it.
i actually use it together with a mini mouse to the side, just to use the scroll button on it, Didn't plan it this way, the truth was, the mini mouse right click doesn't work.
You can’t replace the support for bigger hands? It sounds like an easy fix, no?
I switched to this keyboard from a magic keyboard after i spilled some crap onto it. *i still was using my magic kb and mouse even though i switched to pc about 3 years ago* the difference is night and day. the only thing they have in common is the minimalist design. even holding them next to each other this seems like it was made for people to actually use this is a much better product all around. the feedback and the finger indentations in each key seem to drastically help me avoid making typos.
Best review about this. Thanks for sharing.
I have an opposite opinion about the scroll ring. I constantly have to scroll quickly to find things and I'm glad that the scroll ring is so easy to spin with, since I'll just use my index finger and spin it like a dial when I need to. And it's real fast if you jst use it as a dial.
ty very helpful
ty, almost buy it until you tell me the tragdy of scrolless
Hi, When you say the scroll wheel freewheel. do you mean like the Logitech Master 3? What is your daily driver?
Ciao. dove trovo i cuscinetti in zirconio ? è difficile sostituirli.. ? Grazie !!!

The stiff ball on the 575 is an easy fix, I do it on my 570 all the time. Just get a #2 pencil and rub the little contact points in the ball hole with some graphite from the pencil. Smooth as silk after that.
I was really interested in center trackball mice like these - especially considering the more niche high-quality stuff is in this category - but my hands are just way too small. Thumb trackballs mostly work for me and I've adapted to them, and, without a doubt prefer them to regular mice. Yet this is super cool, the 3.5mm jacks are nuts. I feel like these mice are for work - a superior mouse for editing, coding and development (my use) and are maybe oriented towards men in a majority market as such. Nonetheless, I'd love to see the industry (small business and large industry) expand. Track ball comeback!
I use this and I set the 2nd button on the left click to hold and scroll w the ball like it was designed to do so u can scroll both left and right
This would be a perfect trackball...save for the anti-right-to-repair shenanigans built into it. I strongly advise that you consider *building your own trackball* before buying this one.
I want to buy one of these, where can I find information?
It's an Emacs board. I'm in. Thanks.
You are not unhooking properly, the code after the message loop will not be reached if the user closed the application via the X button, clicking the X button makes the operating system send a "WM_CLOSE" message to the console, which makes the program terminate immediately so your hook is never unhooked, the message loop needs a "WM_QUIT" message to end, which "WM_CLOSE" does not generate. An easy fix is to post a PostQuitMessage(0) in the console handler, which will tell the message loop to stop and the code underneath can be executed before the application finishes closing.
1-2 year lifespan? I still have the grey version with a 2m (6ft) usb-cord. That thing is soon 25 years young... Replaced by 570 8-ish years ago. 570 still works too, replaced due ergonomic issues to Ergo version 5-6 years ago. As with Ergo I get hand in better position than with 570 and previous version. All three still going strong, all buttons working without problems. And those all have been used daily. On work and on personal machines.
I really love your review. You could improve with a little bit of more appealing visual or editing gimmicks to keep it interesting
I was looking all over the web on how to take advantage of the jacks on the back of the L-Trac and you delivered. Thanks for this one. SUPER helpful for my trackball mod project.
THANK YOU! You answered every question I had about this trackball mouse plus a opened my eyes to the modding potential. Excellent review!
To me, this is way over-engineered. I use a much simpler wired Sanwa trackball device with a thumb-operated ball and fingers-operated left and right mouse clicks and scroll wheel. There was no software to download or any of that kind of nonsense; it worked right away after I plugged it in. I am very happy with my trackball.
Need same, but for $50 from Aliexpress and with 3-way connection (wired and wireless)!
let me guess, you run arch linux
Hi i am concerned about your health are you fine?
Wait, a one or two year lifespan is not a deal-breaker? Huh?
Thanks a lot! Your explanation is very lucid.
Imho, you're just holding it wrong. You shouldn't rest your palm on the device. Think of the Kensington slimblade. You don't put your palm on it. hand hovers over it and fingers are on the balls and buttons.
Coming from M570 this is a great trackball. Had no issues with gray ball and the default Omron switch lasted for 5 years. I have replaced it with KailhGM804 hopefully squeezing another few years of service from it.
Hope to see you uploading again soon (take ur time) love your trackball reviews and opinions
I just got my F77. As someone who doesn't need urgent/constant access to the F-keys, I can very comfortably say I can daily-drive mine (barring any failure). I also like that the process to flash the controller with Vial-compatibility got easy in the past year or so, because I did have to rearrange shit. But I like having that freedom. >made the upper-left key a full-on tilde (~) key instead of a function layer for Esc >moved Esc next to the right Ctrl, where the blank/Num Lock key was >removed Scroll Lock/Pause/Insert keys since I don't need those, and moved the keys below them up to those spaces >used that new free row for Mute/Vol Down/Vol Up
This trackball is $200 and you praise them for adding a required element to it. Anyway, this trackball is absolutely against any ergonomics. I prefer Orbit Fusion much more. But Nuela is even better, but it lacks the game changer scroll ring unfortunately.
non off the other review video have talk about the texture on the bottom yet Thank Tech Bytes am getting one next month very excited for this one
Did you try a software mod like MarbleScroll to use the trackball as a scroll wheel?
This is the only thing I've found that's like the famous Microsoft Trackball Explorer. Big ups to these guys for making an ultimate Tracker!
Thank you for the video. Would you recommend this over the L-Trac trackball?
No one wants to hear you.
Thank you for this video. Yeah I think it does have some flaws I thought I was crazy.
Can you do horizontal scroll on these
The arrow keys on the MX Keys Mini allow for a little breathing room so more casual users can find them by feel. In fact, many 75% mechanical keyboards (like the Corsair K65) expand the layout a bit to create extra room for the arrow keys. Sometimes the enter and shift key segment as well. In this case, Logitech was trying to make it compact as possible and it just so happens to be roughy the same length as the most common size of tablet. It nests with my Tab S9 12.4 inch perfectly and they neatly slide into my tablet sleeve together. So not just aesthetics.
The Logitech Setpoint tool allows you to assign the "universal scroll" function to a button, which then makes the trackball into the scroll wheel. Setpoint 6.90.66 Driver 6.0.115looks to have been updated for Windows 11.
I'm still using both of my Trackman Marbles - I also have a wireless Trackman I used to use on my work computer at home...
No videos in 2 years, all ok?
