Spirit Island up to Nature Incarnate: two different one-box storage solutions
Spirit Island plus all expansions up to Nature Incarnate: everything you need in a one-box storage solution. I offer two different solutions: one using the thick punch board panels and sleeved cards (in a big box), and one using the thin Spirit panels and unsleeved cards (in a small box).

Ben lost so had to take a shot. As we were delayed at Dover on a roadtrip to Poland to buy some vodka, no alcohol was available. However, UHT milk was available, so we had to make do with that instead.

Just the Gerco bit from the previous video. After all, it was the best (/only good) bit.

We built a sandcastle, focussing on ensuring it survived as long as possible against the incoming tide. It took seven and a half hours to build, and twenty minutes for the sea to flatten it.

I’m new to the game but have most of it now 😅 do I get rid of the major/minor/fear cards from horizons? Just keep the spirit boards and cards?
@@7mikeyortiz7 Yes. The Majors and Minors are duplicates from the base game. (In a few cases, they’ve reworked the wording to make things a bit more clear, so I kept the Horizons cards instead.)
Thank you so much. This is an excellent tutorial. I've used it multiple times to teach the game.
Have you tried using a photocard binder for the thin spirits? I was wondering if it would be possible for the thick boards lol, and just have everything else in a big box like you have showed or base game box + branch & claw maybe
This seems amazing! The fact that the base game/jagged earth fits inside the nature incarnate is really satisfying and seems like a great foresight by the designers. One question though: how well does these storage solutions hold up to changing the box orientation, e.g. storing the box on its edge?
The containers don't have lids, but most of the time there's another container snugly enough on top that nothing can get out, even when the whole box is tipped sideways. The exception is the containers that are directly below the edges of the maps: those irregular shapes leave some awkward gaps. With the compact design, only the Incarna are small enough to make it into the space above - however, there's nowhere else for them to go, so they fall back into place when the box is lain flat. IIRC the big box has one or two token types that might end up in a neighbouring container, but that's it. If you put a sheet of thin card over those containers before you put the maps in, that should be enough.
@@TimJeanes Awesome!
Brilliant!
The borad of Horizons actuall has a new island, so you are dumping something.
I’m extremely impressed
WHOA.
YOU ARE A GOD
very impressive!
Fantastic and great details on the construction of it all. Will have to make this at some point.
This is cool! I was wondering if I could use thinner paper for the foam trays and box liners are most printers cannot print any heavier than 300 gsm?
I'd suggest making a mock-up of one of the smaller boxes first - one with short sides - and see how you feel. I made a couple with 220gsm and they felt a little bit too flexible for my liking. If you want to use the 400gsm card but can't print on it, you could just measure things up manually. The downloadable instructions include the exact sizes of all the boxes.
@@TimJeanes Oh, I didn't think to do it manually! Will probably try that. Thanks so much! ^- ^
Great work! The blight tray giving *just* the right amount of extra space for the map tiles was very satisfying.
Thank you. It felt like a compromise - I spent the longest time trying to avoid that sort of thing, but I just couldn’t fit the maps in without overlapping the card holder, which necessarily left that awkward space.
That's a neat solution. I was debating on modifying my SI insert to accomodate for NI (and fix some mistakes, as it was the first insert I built), but ultimately decided to go for a 3d print from etsy that would fit my 80 micron sleeved cards. I do appreciate the details here, like the open corners for card boxes (I usually go for a triangle spanning half a side, just enough to hold the cards in), and the end result is quite satisfying. Thank you for sharing.
24 seconds in -> insta-like.
No sleeves, No Nature Incarnate, No Horizons....
Haha! I’m literally working on new versions right now. I’m in Europe so I had a looong wait for NI. I can get everything you need into the base box, so long as you have no sleeves and use the thin Spirit panels. I’ve _nearly_ got a working solution down for sleeves plus thick panels into a base+NI combi-box; I’ll post them both when I’m done. Give me a couple of weeks or so!
@@TimJeanes I'm very excited for when you post your new insert!!! Would love to be able to fit everything into the box <3

Thank you so much for this excellent rules video! You really should make more of these :)
Outstanding job covering all the rules in about 1/2 the time of other videos, and entertaining too.

Great video! Could you make a solo tutorial please?
Hmm, nice idea, but I'm not confident enough that I'd get it right. I played solo a few times but I found the automa's syntax quite confusing and ambiguous.
@@TimJeanes I’ve only played the solo mode a couple of times and I’ve found it a bit confusing too!! 😅
Real great effort has been put into this video with all the physical objects used in it. Very entertaining watch
Wtf this game is amazing I love this so much even tho but also just because it's so complex, you can do so muh. Gonna buy it with standees and neoprene mat.
This is such a clear, well-thought how to play video! Thanks for it!
Had to stop the video after 7 minutes to give it a like, well done!
ty for the vid. this is like the europa universalis of among us
It's been said multiple times already, but this was a really good teach.
$100 pricetag 😂 board game producers get bolder by the day and hardcore gamers that buy every new game feed their egos and make them think that those prices are acceptable
Adding "fall" or "born" as a suffix in a title is not a good idea.
amazing teach
Thanks for this, this video helped immensely for me to explain this game to others.
Why is this your only 'learn to play' video? It's excellent.
I made it because there wasn't already a good one, and this game really needed a good one. I haven't made any others (yet) because this took 30 hours to make (on top of the time spent honing the teach IRL). If the same situation arises with another game, maybe I'll do another. I did enjoy it, despite everything!
This is most excellent! Fast and concise and clear!
Great video thank you!
Very impressive balance and strength. Highly entertaining!
Have you ever thought about doing more tutorials? You are very good, methodical and quick.
Extremely helpful and entertaining. Well done, sir!
You dont get your activation back? Do you have to always use the character your activations was stuck on until you use Wait and get it back?
Amazing, very helpful!
One rules thing I find is commonly missed is that you can only bribe or use kompromat DURING the activate phase. So you can't do it if you renegotiate and you have to activate a live character. So I don't believe you can bribe someone to revive a character and then activate that character.
Bywałem w latach od 1997 do zamknięcia Dyskoteki bardzo miło bardzo wspominam.
Very nicely done! Thank you.

This is one of the best, and most amusing, board game explanations I’ve ever seen. Kudos!
This is the best concise explanation of this game currently available. Love the thematic touches too. Thanks for making the video.
