The original intro was minimalistic but had a certain charm and intrigue to it... this is quite messy.
The title of the movie already screams too 1980's the way they did it!
this was the intro to the english version moon madness. So I guess if this is the version you were familiar with first, you would probably think the reverse was true. I only like it bc I was born in 1981 and remember watching this on Betamax when I was like 6 years old. So its just a nostalgia thing, really.
When I was a kid this was my favourite film for a little while and watched it again and again as you do at that age, but although I knew the crippled old man was Hoagy in disguise, I never realised the deaf old woman was too!
Doc Terminus and Hoagy look like a British version of Marv and Harry.

Oh man, this used to be one of my favorite movies when I was like 6. I want to see the whole thing again so much!

One of the best childhood films to my memory...I am happy to have snagged a copy! I remember they actually played this on Nickelodeon in the late 80's!
I recall Nickelodeon playing the first movie (the one of just Munchhausen himself) but not this follow-up, but nice they did anyway.
I remember watching this in Germany when I was six! Its been so long... I wish I could watch this movie again. :D

great scene out of the film and it makes me laugh when he can't say Passamaquaddy which then makes me yell it out to him
The part where the people shout negative comments at Doc Terminus always makes me laugh so much.

Your serious! He animated Elliot! I thought 40 animaters did Elliot! How did you find that out!
Jim Dale and Red Buttons characters remind me of live-action human versions of Jenner (Paul Shenar) and Sullivan (Aldo Ray) from "The Secret of NIMH" whom animated by Don Bluth who also animated Elliott in this film.
