I had a visitor on my boat last weekend. A lot of people on Social Media said "Why didn't you give him some food?". You don't feed them for this very reason...they should have a natural fear of people and this behavior is indicative of an animal that's been fed before. It's dangerous for people AND animals.

Hey everyone, my boat is back in the water! I spent the better part of December and all of January repairing a major ding that was allowing water into the hull of my Carolina Skiff. I returned to the Augusta Canal in my Kayak. Now that my old body has adjusted to fishing like this I'm starting to appreciate the joy of being back out in the kayak. Sunday January 10th, 2022 I decided to take the kayak out to the dam looking for white perch, crappie, or whatever I could find on the GA side. It is weird how I can get fixated on catching a specific fish that is not found anywhere within a two-hour drive. Sheepshead is one of my favorite species and for some reason, Sauger is another. • @StarkFishing
      @StarkFishing 2 месяца назад

      At low tide, look for mud flats close to large grass flats or creeks. This time of year you should be able to find plenty of shrimp with a cast net in shallow water. As far reds go, look for oyster rakes, creek mouths, or areas with a break in the current. Almost any bait used to catch large month bass will catch a Red.

      Hey William J! Welcome to the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area). One this particular trip I put in behind Lake Olmstead. There is no boat ramp for the Canal but there are kayak launches at the Savannah Rapids pavilion for both the canal and river. There's also a River launch at the Augusta Water Works and further down a boat ramp in North Augusta. I've heard the canal authority are planning on building an official kayak launch at the back of Lake Olmstead in the near future. I have another kayak video for the Savannah River that shares maps of several of these locations.
