Baltimore Washington Drive Thru 1978
Someone said that when the team was on their way to the game in the bus Mike looked out the window and was mad at the grass.
Grew up in the Carolinas and my older cousins got me addicted to this team during this time period as I was in elementary school. Bert Jones was my first idol that I worshipped dearly as a 6,7,8 year old! I am waiting patiently for my Colts to move back to Baltimore. Indy Ravens -Baltimore Colts switcharro!!! What , what’s wrong w that?!?
I still have my Bert Jones bicycle...fun times 👍
@@fromthefarsidethat playoff loss to the Raiders on Dec 26, ‘77 devastated this third grader!!!😮
Thanks for this Bert Rocked
Baltimore moved to Indy in March of 1984 cant stand Robert irsay😢
Moved like a cat
Rocket Arm like Bradshaw Unitas and Favre
Amazing player the ruston rifle ruled 75 to 77😊
Quarterbacks these days would not last
could throw it 50yards 4' off the ground...... unbelievable
John Facenda the voice of God
The colts front were nicknamed the loonies tunes!
Never forgotten about ❤BOYEEE
The 1975 colts gave me a lot of enjoyment!
The 1975 colts gave me a lot of rnjoyment!
Bert jones to Rodger carrrocks!
Had he stayed healthy, there's no doubt in my mind Bert Jones would have been among the top 10 greatest quarterbacks of all time. He was that good. Sadly, a lot of the younger fans in Baltimore today have no idea who he even was.
Odd how every copy of this game is missing the colts first td drive.
His spirals were tighter than Dick's hatband. My goodness, what an arm...
I was so hurt 🤕 when they moved out of town 😢😢😢😢 too see the the mayor of of that time Schaefer crying like that really hurt me
The good days!. Classic NFL. No social justice messages stenciled on field back of the end zone. 20:08. God I miss that NFL.
Greatest QB,ALL TIME
Strongest arm in history
For cripe sake he took down Csonka like he weight 170lbs. The dude was a beast and considered one of the best MLBs in the game and that was when Butkus and Nobis played as well. Its a crime that he's not in the HOF. Offenses and players feared him. Cripe , his own teammates were afraid of the dude.
Marty was as bad.
Because of him, there was no Elway in Baltimore. Joe Thomas treated Johnny I like trash.
This dude never got the credit he deserved he was a good qb
My all time top 5 QB's (excluding present day) would be: 1) Tom Brady 2) Otto Graham 3) Joe Montana 4) John Unitas 5) Dan Marino
Odd avatar for this video.
The Baltimore Colts and the Baltimore Orioles were the reason that I moved to Baltimore from Norfolk, Va. I have many memories of the city and the people in it. I made a lot of friends with the players from both teams. 😊 I miss the city and the many friends that I made while I was there. Go Baltimore! 😊
John Unitas was simply the greatest of all time and anyone who ever saw him play knows it. Yes, he was a Field General as some have described him but he was more like a Surgeon precisely dissecting defenses like nobody before or after him. Before his retirement, his understudy, Dan Fouts, asked John for the best tip he had. John replied, "Aim for your receivers' nose. That way, they have to catch it." Remember, it was in the days when the skill players only had one bar on their facemasks.
You don’t have to shoot heroin to OD…he probably just snorted it..
And sadly by early 1984, they would be on their way out of town to Indy.
Ese corte de cabello si se puede ver 😅
1976 MVP.
Some great teams destroyed by Irsay the drunk.
Like NASCAR, sports is a bunch of men affected by feminizatioin of America.
I was a big Johnny Unitas fan!!! I consider him to be the greatest QB ever!!! QB’s were not protected in any way back then. He took a lot of abuse!!! I met him on three different occasions at shows and he would remember me. My wife told him that I took down the kids pictures and put his up! He laughed!!! He was one of the nicest people ever!!! God Bless him!!!
Loved me some Bert Jones IMO really underrated
Star trek the next generation
It is appropriate that John Facenda' s last commentary was in my opinion one of the best Super Bowls ever 1983 Raiders vs Redskins. It was the first time a wildcard team had made it to the Super Bowl that was t he Raiders they were the underdogs the Redskins were the polished favorites led by Joe Thiesman the Raiders had Jim Plunket a veteran who's time had come and gone but came back for one last curtain call . As the game proceeded it looked like the odds makers maybe were right and the momentum seemed to be going for Washington but late in the third something happened the Raiders reached deep inside and found pride and the play that demoralized the Redskins was the Raiders had the ball the snap the handoff to running back he came around right and maybe would've gained a few but he reversed hes field deep way to deep to run the other side, i couldn't believe it are you kidding your gonna get creamed but the sea parted and he ran forever i had a hart attack the whole Raider team woke up and this fairy tale had a good ending the Raiders did , as always, what the weren't supposed to do that season with there season record make it to the playoffs then actually win .
I will always love Unitas for being in "Gus". I love him in that film.
Joe Thomas the GM mesed up those teams, the horrible owner and Jones having so many injuries.
The Gold Standard
love this thank you!
Needs to be in Canton.
Thank you. My spiritual home
Just think the Steelers could have had Johnny U., Bradshaw, Marino, Big Ben.! That would have been the GREATEST SET OF QB’s ever by far of Any NFL Teams
Everybody today wishes they could copy him.
The golden era of NFL films.
Grew up in Baton Rouge, had the number 7 Bert Jones jersey when he was at LSU, followed the Colts when he went there. The other local sports hero was Pete Maravich. A lucky time to be an LSU kid.
